Grindhouse Extreme Tournament
Hey everybody. Im Andre better as Bartmanhomer. Well this is my very first fan fiction tournament by the last couple of years. In this tournament you could only entering the robot that are beyond the weight advantage. Only 8 entrants can enter this tournament.
Here are the rules:
Wheeled robots are 100 KG to 200 KG
Walkers robots are 200 KG to 400 KG
If there any question about anything about this tournament, ask me.

lol Homer, I remember you doing these on the old Panic Attack Boards...
whats your policy towards reserving spots, and whats your policy towards clusterbots?
*reserves a spot, still torn between either combining 2 of my heavyweights into 1 clusterbot or making a 400 kg walker*
-
Grindhouse Extreme Tournament
Well for clusterbots, hmmm.......clusterbots are allowed in this tournament. And for reserving spots, hmmm........I will allow to reserved for spots, however youll have to show the stats for the robot and see if your robots are qualified.
-
Grindhouse Extreme Tournament
the point of reservations is that one cant show stats at a certain time :proud:
-
Grindhouse Extreme Tournament
Really, well in this case the reservation is allow unless if I decided for a time limit. But I very paitent for reservation. So Ill allowed it.
-
Grindhouse Extreme Tournament
Mmmmm...... 400kg walker....
200000N crushers?
100000N flipper?
200kg FBS?
150kg Vert spinner?
2000mm Bar spinner?
I cant make up my mind what to exploit
-
Grindhouse Extreme Tournament
Haha! This should be heaps of fun, and I enjoyed your tournaments on the PAC Forums. Reserve a place for me please, and Ill get experimenting.
-
Grindhouse Extreme Tournament
Eh, why not? Ill reserve a spot.

Grindhouse Extreme Tournament
OK, Ill enter. Heres Tri-Tainium:
TRI-TAINIUM
€ WEIGHT: 100kg
€ ARMOUR: 4mm Hardox for the back/scoop. The top and bottom panels are 5mm Titanium and the sloped sides are 6mm Hardox to sheild the wheels.
€ SHAPE: Low invertible box with a front scoop (the scoop has a slight dip in it to help get under other robots better) and sloped sides.
€ MOTORS: 2 x LEM 130€™s at 36V = 18HP
€ LOCOMOTION: 4 Vulkanised Wheels.
€ DIMENSIONS: (L) 60CM (H) 20CM (W) 60CM
€ COLOUR: Unpainted, with the exception of the name on top written in black paint.
€ WEAPONRY: The weaponry consists of 3 x 9kg discs, made out of 1cm of Titanium with 3 Hardox bludgening teeth. The discs are set on the same axle, and amounted deep into the scoop, with the teeth just reaching towards the lip of the scoop, so the uppercut movement of the discs can attack base-panels and the like. The discs are powered by 2 x LEM130s at 36V. Set on a ratio of 5:1, it gives off 3500rpm. The discs, combined together make 27kg, so the force given out is 165kj per hit! Large amounts of Rubber amounted behind the scoop stops the risk of self-destruction.
€ SPEED: 18mph
€ GROUND CLEARANCE: 0MM-1CM. At the front, it is completely 0mm. On the sides/rear, its 1cm.
€ STRENGTH: Weaponry.
€ WEAKNESS: Completely new design.

Time to give a bot a freshening...
Shadow Zone 1.1
Shape: Box with front wedge, side skirts and rear skirts and wedge. Explained more properly in the picture: http://www.geocities.com/kodybluz/ShadowZone.bmphttp://www.geocities.com/kodybluz/ShadowZone.bmp
Colour: See pic.
Weight: 100kg
Speed: 16mph
Drive: 4 S28-400 Mags @ 24v
Power: 8 NiCad Battlepacks
Motivation: 4WD. Wheels have urethane rubber for supreme grip. Has a castor under the front wedge to help with turning.
Armour: 7mm titanium/vanadium. The skirts are titanium and bolted to the sides.
Ground Clearance: The wedge scrapes the ground at 0mm, the sides are 0mm (4mm without skirts), and the rear is also 0mm around the flipper.
Dimensions in CM (LxWxH): 85 x 65 x 30
Weaponry: A Toro-style flipping arm at the rear of the robot. Its powered by a single 5kg CO2 tank, making for about 10-15 odd flips. Can flip about 2000kg and toss about 850kg. Its not supposed to be used frequently, only against more powerful rammers and/or flippers.
Srimech: Flipper
Strengths: Maybe Infusion could get under it...well armoured, and has excellent pushing power and speed.
Weaknesses: Infusion. :proud:

Are these stats okay?
King Rat
WEIGHT: 200kgs
DIMENSIONS: 120 x 65 x 50 cms
SHAPE: Somewhat like a rat - an elongated dome with one pointed end.
COLOUR: Black, thanks to the fur
DRIVE: 4 LEM200 motors driving 2 rear wheels from 4 SLA batteries at 48v - the robot uses car type steering from a windscreen wiper motor moving two unpowered front wheels.
SPEED: 24mph average, 40+ mph max
GROUND CLEARANCE: 4mm at the front, 7mm at the sides and rear
ARMOUR: 8mm titanium (7mm hardox in critical areas) all around the top, covered in 2mm black Kevlar fur, with a 1.5cm plywood baseplate.
WEAPONS: An electric 95cm long steel axe on the front, running from a C40-300 Magmotor and a Mortis-style linkage capable of denting hardox and penetrating 5mm titanium in one or two hits with a Shunt-style tungsten tipped axe head weighing 7.5 kgs. Also has several Hardox spikes and blades in the front nose of the robot.
SRIMECH: Is designed to roll back onto its wheels if tipped over.
NOTES: Has laser eyes, furry ears and a long fabric tail, and shockproofing to protect from spinners.
STRENGTHS: Very controllable, good weaponry
WEAKNESSES: Large turning circle, easily flipped

Meh, I decided to enter a normal heavyweight and play by the normal RW rules. :)
Its okay if I get destroyed. :proud:

Grindhouse Extreme Tournament
Rocky Dennis:
Shape: Just a plain old Box, with a low flat tongue
Mass - 199kg
Weapon - Allow me to come back to this area
Speed - 20 mph
Power - 4 Lem 130s at 48 volts, with each powering 2 wheels, so in effect an 8 wheeled machine, it has enough batteries. Each set of 2 wheels is in an independent dolly system, which can swing up-to 15 degrees either way.
Wheels - The front 4 wheels are solid go-kart wheels, the rear 4 wheels are also solid go-kart wheels.
Armour - Screw Hardox, instead I have got for a cocktail of armour materials, the top and bottom plates are constructed from 10mm Steel plating, the chassis is 10mm steel bars, re-enforced at various points. There is basis 10mm steel plating around the sides, but on top of that steel plating is a layer of harden ballistic jelly of about 200mm, but on top of the jelly is a layer of that super-dense fibre cloth, where the fibres are weaved together very tightly, so it€™s ultra-hard to tear into. The fibre and jelly is around the sides and rear, where the front has just the fibre. The idea is that if a spinner is powerful enough to tear though the fibre, the jelly will stop it.
Weapon - It has a front fork-lift system, powered by CO2, with the forks in the tongue itself, raising from thin to thick, so it can get underneath machines quite well.
Self-righter - This is an after-thought, so I have stuck a flipping arm on top to self-right the machine when it lands on the top, but due to the size it might land on its sides, so I have stuck a puncher, which will punch the machine off its sides.
Turning Circle - Nothing at all
Ground clearance - Optional side skirts reduce the ground clearance to zero, the front is zero due to the 40mm tensioned tongue (which makes it rather hard to get underneath from the front. The sides and rear without skirts is 40mm.
Summary - My phone€™s broken

Grindhouse Extreme Tournament
King Rat is okay! Ill accepted it.
-
Grindhouse Extreme Tournament
Hey David what its strength, weakness and dimension?
-
Grindhouse Extreme Tournament
I dont believe in putting Strengths and weaknesses down.
Dimensions: L - 1600mm including tongue , width is 1400mm including the jelly, and its 400mm tall.
-
Grindhouse Extreme Tournament
Hey. Its your robot David.
-
Grindhouse Extreme Tournament
Hey Kody. Explain this weakness Infusion.

Grindhouse Extreme Tournament
These are the robot for the first round so far
1. Rocky Dennis vs. Tri-taniun
2. Shadow Zone 1.1 vs. King Rat
3. ? vs. ?
4. ? vs. ?
Make your predictions while waiting with the other four robots.

Grindhouse Extreme Tournament
Rocky Dennis vs. Tri-tanium
Oh yeah, Rocky Dennis FTW. Tri-tanium has no chance. :proud::proud::proud:
Shadow Zone 1.1 vs. King Rat
Use the rear flipper and keep flipping it. :)
-
Grindhouse Extreme Tournament
Rocky Dennis vs. Tri-Tainium: I think that overall, Ill be alright, true he has plenty of power, but he isnt going to get under me FOR SURE - I have more traction. And if I knock Rocky onto his back, he has to self-right. This do this constantly till hes out of gas. If Im lucky, Ill crack his base-panel and go after the insides.
Shadow Zone 1.1 vs. King Rat: Ill go for Joey here.
-
Grindhouse Extreme Tournament
Paul, I think with 199 kg on the ground as well as 8 wheels, HE has more traction :proud:
-
Grindhouse Extreme Tournament
Well.... I dont think Im going to have time for designing something from scratch its time for me clusterify it up - its somewhat cheap but nevermind:
Abyssal Swordsmen
Essentially I take Archangel of the Abyss (with modifications ot get to 200kg) and then to the top attach allies, and ontop of that Baldur Gamma, which are essentially velcroed onto the top and ducttaped and held inplace with a few electromagnets. The top of Archangels shell also now has a rubber ridge around the outside so the bots cant slide off on their own.
At the start of the fight it walks in in this form so the robot is a walker. Then, Archangels scrimech fires throwing both machines off the top and I enter the fight with the 3 robots. Achilles will always be using the pnuematic setup and will hence use its t-bar to separate baldur from itself.
Archangel and Baldurs starscan be found on http://www.alexjholt.tkwww.alexjholt.tk
Achilles
Weight: 100kg
Shape: box, slightly thicker than tornado, not double sided, sides skirted like Panic Attack, back curved for more efficient srimech (like the original hydra), front is sloped at 45 degrees and tapered inwards so that any hits to the front will go to the reinforced flipper plate€¦ See the image.
Wheels: Four internal cast aluminium wheels (similar to tornados Go Cart wheels in design but only half the width) and using treaded go-kart style tyres of appropriate diameters.
Motors: 4x S28-400 Magmotors at 24v
Speed: 18mph,
Turning circle: 0m
Armour: 5mm titanium and on top 10mm of polyurethane rubber to stop axes and crushers The flipper itself is a hardox frame and front plate (4mm) and the spatula being titanium. The internal rams are mounted onto a hardox crossbar but otherwise the top of the flipper it is now armoured with 10mm polycarbonate and the aforementioned rubber.
Ground clearance: At the front, the flipper spatula essentially gives it a 0 ground clearance, at the sides it would be 5mm but is protected by a 3mm stainless steel skirt
Weapons:
The weapon is a rear pivoted lifting arm, this has two set-ups, plus a small extra mounted weapon for either. To get under the opponent it has a Bigger Brother style lifting plate that runs parallel to the ground resting upon it that gives the machine a really low ground clearance enabling it to get under most things, the front edge of the plate has been filed to a sharp edge.
Set-up 1: Hydraulics
Uses a single hydraulic lifting arm to life opponents of up to 150 kg into the air and tip over up to 400kg. Uses a 120mm bore ram with 40mm stroke and powered using a Vivoil pump
On top of the lifter is a hook mechanism that looks like a tiny claw but performs the same gripping effect as the top mounted behemoth axe. It is not particularly sharp, as it is not designed to cause damage, just to grip the opponent it is powered by a small linear actuator.
Set-up 2: Pneumatics
The second set up is a high-powered pneumatics set-up with a single canister of C02 running at 1000psi providing the power. The addition to this set-up is a small T-shaped bar powered by an actuator which pivots towards the back, enabling Achilles to self right without using up any gas.
Strengths: Very durable, no particular weaknesses for opponent to exploit.
Weaknesses: No damaging weapons.
Now I wait for someone to tear my half arsed design apart... lol

Grindhouse Extreme Tournament
Kody, King Rat told me to tell you he says hi. :)
Shadow Zone vs. KING RAT
Shadow Zone has a flipper, and I do have a rather high ground clearance. Id like to ask Andre whether OOTAs are possible in his arena, as this may make a difference...but basically I have double his weight, one-and-a-half times his speed, and some nice pointy weapons. Avoid the flipper like the plague, go for the sides and ram, axe, push, rinse, repeat. Try and hit the axe into the robot beneath the flipper if possible.

3. Achilles vs. ?
4. ? vs. ?

Drive head-on, the super-dense fiber cloth should put up a hard fight against those spinners, and if the cloth gets ripped, the fibers would make a mess of the bearings, and the front steel would make it hard to cause damage.

Oh yes. Out of the arena is possible in this tournament.
