Rebel Robots

Good Morning all

I am pleased to annouce that in Mid to late August 08 I will be hosting an event called Rebel Robots, The Event will take place in Staffordshire and will run over 3-4 days, and will be in our all new Arena.

Its been part of a long running project and the show is the final outcome, the news you have all been waiting for is..... it will be filmed for television it will be aired on a free view digital channel ,which one i cannot reveal at present but will do nearer the time.

What robots do I want? 32 heavyweights, 32 Featherweights 32 Antweights and any lightweights and middleweights upto 32 but i seriously doubt Ill see many entries in the lights and middles.

There will be an entry fee but it will be kept as low as possible, the fee will go to securing the venue, With a secure venue we can run the event as we already have the arena.

The Arena is under wraps for now but its not like the other Arenas in design and there are no house robots, this is not one of the previous shows its something different so please enter the event with an open mind.

Entries will start being taken at the end of april , so please dont email me with Id like to enter just hold your horses.

We will be allowing spinners so if youve got one hiding somewhere dust it off, and charge it up. Robots from all countries are welcome, We also do not have seeds for this year its a level playing field so best of luck to all.

The Venue and date will be confirmed next week so it can go in all your diaries, hope to see you there

Is this event / arena FRA sanctioned?

The Arena will be instpected prior to the event happening, its running to FRA rules and guidelines cant see why it wouldnt but andy will advise Im sure

Planning on using it regularly if everything goes according to plan?

how many are you allowed to enter? As you know mr pete waller has millions of ant weights and the same for some teams with feather weights.

Sounds good...between this and Battlebots possibly coming back, things are starting to get interesting.

Ants will run to standard rules of AWS once entries system i will sort how many can enter in one division, but for not say one in each divison

Hi craig, with 32 spaces in each category will it be on a first come basis? or will you be more inclined to use robots with an original design, tv appeal etc...

well 32 is a nice number to work with but if there are more entries than 32 it doesnt mean they wont be allowed in, 32 is not exclusivly the limit, for now lets jus get the 32 if theres more thats great

b) im in scotland for 9 weeks doing our haven holiday park tour and dont come back until the end of august. 9 weeks of blinking scotish people i tell ya LOL !!

Awesome news. I havent managed to get to anywhere near as many events as Id like, and itll be great to see how the robots have progressed since series 7.

Ive been asked if your allowed to display sponsers logos and the answer is .....

And Jonno my good man that seems to be the general time ive been told to go for so hopefully for you and the others who have asked well get that for you

Also Ive been asked if the TV should fall though will the event still run? the answer is yes, The event itself is not funded by the TV think of it as a standard live evnt with lights camera and action

Qualifying, will robots be picked on TV value? no having qualifed more than once for the former UK show and never getting on tv i can assure everyone all robots will be allowed on even if theyre TV boring just because a robot doesnt have a flipper or spinner it doesnt mean it cant win

Also i was asked will i enforce a weapon policy, by which every robot must have an active weapon? hello my name is Craig I run Tanto, no i wont be bringing in this rule

Will the entire event be aired on TV, or will the channel pick and choose what to air (like Battlebots)?

Well done Craig for getting TV involved again. Hope we can make it!

Ive been inbetween Burntwood, Colchester, Norwich and London since i last posted, Venue is slow to respond at present but we are looking at aug 30th-31st and itll be in Burntwood Staffs.

Also will be opening entires at the end of this month, so i can know numbers. Also on entires, Im Going to allow people to enter upto 2 heavyweights and 2 featherweights per team and standard antweight (AWS) entries.
As i said before theyre will be an entry fee, ill keep it as low as possible but bewarned itll ocst to enter, however this is a one off payment you will not need to pay an entry fee again, theyre wont be a yearly entry fee.

As and when i know ill let you know
