The K-TOAD tournament
The Key To Open Any Door Tournament
Right, Im working on a similar line to Here I Go Again, where Im keeping things nice and simple, however like Here I Go Again, the numbers are going up.
What I need is for 16 people to enter 2 vapourbots each, on a first-come first served basis, which will give 32 machines in total. There are seeds of:
1 - Frank
2 - Paul
3 - Martyn
4 - Kody
So if those people enter, can they select one of their 2 machines to be the seed.
I think I have covered everything, 100KG limit for tracks.
Get Cracking
BTW, there will be a prize for the first person to guess the link between the names of my last tournament and this one

The K-TOAD tournament
Ill enter Drilla Killa 7 and Tenderizers Revenge 2.
DRILLA KILLA 7
Weight: 99kg
Shape: Low invertable box, painted red, with a Tornado-like low wedge at the front, and an upside down one at the back for when the robot is upside down, and skirts at the sides fixed at the centre so they work whichever way up the robot is
Dimensions: 110 x 40 x 25
Speed: 17mph
Ground Clearance: 0 at front due to wedge; 0 at sides due to skirts, 3mm behind skirts, 25cm at most at back due to inverted wedge
Turning Circle: 2cm
Armour: 5mm Hardox
Wheels: 6, inside robot
Power: 4 Perm 080s motors on 24V powered by 24V @ 12amp batteries
Weapon: Each wedge has a hole in the centre - inside each hole is a diamond tipped drill, spinning at 600 rpm, which comes out of the hole using a motor. It can come out to cause damage when an opponent is on the wedge, or can stay out and cause damage when the robot rams opponents.
Srimech: Invertable; cannot rest on sides due to skirts
Tactics: To get under unskirted opponents, slam them around and bring out the drills to damage their underbellies; to ram skirted opponents with the drills out and try to cause damage
Strengths: Good pushing power
Weaknesses: Drills may not penetrate very thick armour; high ground clearance at back
TENDERIZERS REVENGE 2
Weight: 97kg
Shape: Low invertable box with low wedge at the front and inverted wedge at the back - painted blue with its name painted to look like blood on the skirts
Dimensions: 90 x 90 x 20
Speed: 15mph
Ground Clearance: 0 all around due to low wedge and skirts, 2mm behind side skirts, 20cm behind skirt on inverted wedge. Both wedges have skirts attached to them at their edge. The wedge and side skirts are attached to rotatable cylinders inside the robot (or wedge) so they can be moved up and down. When they are down, they are very low and its hard to get underneath, but the robots speed is reduced to 9mph. The side skirts can go up to a point where they work inverted. The skirts on the wedges move within 90 degrees - when their wedge is inverted, they are in a vertical position to repel flippers, and when their wedge is right way up, they are in a horizontal position, riding along the ground to help get under robots. When the robot is moving around normally, all skirts except the front wedge one are pulled down low but not to maximum lowness so it can move quickly - the skirts go to maximum lowness if a flipper comes anywhere near it.
Armour: Main body has 5mm polycarbonate on top of 5mm titanium, skirts are 4mm titanium, wedges are 5mm hardox
Wheels: 4, inside robot
Power: 4 Perm 080s motors on 24V powered by 24V @ 12amp batteries
Weapon: An electrically powered lifting arm, which runs along half of the top of the robot - its tip is pointed to help hold onto robots, and is at the point where the wedge meets the body, and it does not go down the wedge. It can rotate through 360 degrees so it can be used when the robot is inverted.
Srimech: Invertable - arm will act as srimech, but this will hardly happen as the robot works identically both ways up. Moveable skirts prevent it from resting on its sides.
Tactics: Run into opponents, try to get under them, then get them onto its top and onto the arm. The arm turns them over, or catches them so I can carry them around.
Strengths: Decent pushing power; moveable skirts; difficult to attack by flippers
Weaknesses: May struggle to use arm against some opponents

The K-TOAD tournament
What the hey?
NAME- Metal Sonic Spin Dash
SHAPE- low skirted box, with fixed front wedge & sloped sides
COLOUR- blue bodywork, with red-and-white striped skirting
WEIGHT- about 100kg
DIMENSIONS- 102cm X 75cm X 20cm
SPEED- 16mph
TURNING CIRCLE- 0m
GROUND CLEARANCE- virtually 0mm at front with spatula, 0mm elsewhere with skirts, 12mm elsewhere without skirts
ARMOUR- 3.75mm Hardox
WHEELS- inside robot, 6WD
POWER- 2 x LEM-130 MagMotors. These will run at 36v and produce approximately 18hp.
WEAPONS- The main weapon here is really the excellent traction, but like all its other incarnations, Spin Dash still maintains its Pussycat-style vertical saw blade, running at 3000rpm. This time, however, the four-clawed spinner sticks halfway out of the front wedge, so that when the wedge/spatula combo bashes underneath an opponent, both the wheels and the underbelly are at the mercy of the saw.
Also features several Mute-style barbs on top to hook onto other robots and let me drag them around the ring
SRIMECH- a rear-hinged arm on top with a basic low-pressure CO2 set-up. Can be used to about 30-40 times and is ONLY used for self-righting in order not to waste the gas supply
NOTES- flies the Scotland flag, has F*** Shadow! written on the underbelly in red
STRENGTHS- excellent traction, fast, manoueverable, tough armour, well-skirted, great at getting under everyone else
WEAKNESSES- so-so turning ability, teething troubles?
PICCY HERE- http://img77.imageshack.us/img77/3603/fifthspindashde6.pnghttp://img77.imageshack.us/img77/360...pindashde6.png
NAME- Turbo Tails (formerly Tails) (HW)
SHAPE- short box with front wedge, sloped sides & rounded rear
COLOUR- yellow with the foxs face looking particularly evil on the front slope
WEIGHT- approx 100kg
DIMENSIONS- 90cm X 75cm X 25cm
SPEED- 16mph
TURNING CIRCLE- 0m
GROUND CLEARANCE- approx 0mm at front (titanium blade), 8mm everywhere else
ARMOUR- 3.5mm monocoque Hardox, with 2mm yellow fur over that.
MOVEMENT- 4 inner wheels
POWER- 2 x C40-500 MagMotors. These will run at 36v and produce approximately 12hp.
WEAPONS- Tails chief weapon is the horizontal spinning blade. Now mounted on top, its a bit heavier than before and has Fluffy-style heads instead of the old hammers. Its powered by 2 x LEM-130s running at 36v and has top speeds of around 2500rpm, so its definately just as deadly as before - if not, more so!
SRIMECH- A front forward-hinged arm, powered by a single, low-pressure CO2 ram. Capable of operating just over 30 times per fight. Not used for the offensive unless desperate. Sloped sides and rounded rear also prevent it getting beached.
NOTES- flies the Scotland flag
STRENGTHS- orrible weapon, touger armour, fast, fairly compact, greater pushing power
WEAKNESSES- not quite as manouverable as before, flammability, wholl take it seriously?
PICCY HERE- http://img63.imageshack.us/img63/8014/turbotailsnu8.pnghttp://img63.imageshack.us/img63/8014/turbotailsnu8.png

The K-TOAD tournament
The May Tracks Has You
Shape: Like Comengetorix. It has a wedge extender to give it 0 mm at the front.
Speed: 20 MPH.
Dimensions(lwh A): 85CM X 45 CM X 24 CM
Armour: 4.5 MM hardox.
GC: 0 mm at the front, 6 mm everywhere else, covered by skirts made of 3 mm Ti.
Weapon 1: Rear hinged flipper, powered by two pneumatic rams at 500 psi.
Weapon 2: Upward facing spikes on the wedge. A robot can go over them, but if it tries to reverse, say goodbye to your tyres. By wedging a robot then reversing suddenly, TMTHY can impale the tyres, then fire the flipper to do loads of damage. Even a robot with stuffed tyres will be limping after that.
Drive: Inner tracks, powered by Lem-130€™s at 24 volts.
Srimech: The flipper.
Strengths: Weapon synergy. Once The May Tracks Has You, there is no escape.
Weaknesses: Axe/flipper combos could take the tracks out.
A Robot With A Really Long Name Simply Because I Like Acronyms (Acronyms for short:proud:)
Shape: A low hexagon.
Speed: 15 MPH.
Dimensions excluding claws(lwh): 55CM X 55 CM X 25 CM
Armour: 4 MM grade 5 Ti with a 2 mm sacrificial polycarb laminate.
GC: 1 CM, covered by side skirts.
Weapon: Jaws of life and horizontal crusher. These use a €œgimble€ junction (credit to James Baker) to prevent all the crushers being stalled if just one encounters resistance, and also means the full crushing force can be applied on all four points at once. The crushers have lots of weight reducing holes in them.
Drive: 2 central wheels powered by two Lem 130€™s at 24 volts, used more for the acceleration than the HP. There are castors at the front and rear to provide stability.
Srimech: Invertibility.
Strengths: Weapon synergy. If your robot has weak-ish top armour, it€™ll have you. If it has weak-ish side armour, it€™ll have you. God help you if they€™re both weak-ish.
Weaknesses: Heavy weapon takes away from armour strength, slow to self right.
May Tracks should really be the seed for this one.

Second entry in, Dave. :)
-
The K-TOAD tournament
Im entering my two versions of old robots - Autoism and Nitro-Gene 2.0 (And Im selecting Ntro-Gene to be my seed, seeing as it got second last time :proud:)
AUTOISM
€ WEIGHT: 100kg
€ ARMOUR: 5MM monocque Hardox on front, rear and top. 4MM Aluminium Boron Carbide for the Sides and Base. Weight Reducing holes are drilled into the Monocque Chassis to reduce weight.
€ SHAPE: Box with Pointed (Triangular) Sides and Rear to lower spinner Effectiveness.
€ MOTORS: 2 x LEM 130 AT 46V = 18HP
€ LOCOMOTION: 4 x VULKALON TREADED WHEELS ON TOP AND BOTTOM ALA BIG NIPPER. EACH IS
€ DIMENSIONS: (L) 80CM (W) 80CM (H) 25CM
€ COLOUR: Black for the body, Silver for the crushing weapon. Now, on top, it has the name €˜AUTOISM€™ written in silver.
€ WEAPONRY: The weapon for this is still a Big Nipper style crushing/lifting arm, but instead of claws to lift with, it has a pair of pliars to lift and crush with. The pair of 3.25mm Hardox pliars, work on the same system as the lifter as the pliars are part of the lifter to avoid being torn out by spinners. The weapon lifts and crushes with a force of 9 Tonnes, using a Razer-like mechanism for lifting and crushing! The new crushing weapon means thats if flipped, the robot doesnt need to self-right.
€ SPEED: 23MPH
€ GROUND CLEARANCE: 0MM - 15MM. 4MM Hardox sprung skirts on the sides and rear make it a nightmare to get under.
€ STRENGTH: Power, Speed and Weapons make it a tough machine
€ WEAKNESS: Weak side armour
And secondly Nitro-Gene 2.0, with a change suggested by Kody(Thanks about the LEMs :proud:)
NITRO-GENE 2.0
€ WEIGHT: 100kg
€ ARMOUR: 4mm Hardox for the body. Holes are drilled into the slanted sides to allow for a 6mm Hardox flipper
€ SHAPE: Low invertible box with pointed sides and rear. At the front is a Storm 2 style wedge to aid in getting underneath other robots.
€ MOTORS: 4 x LEM 130s at 46V = 36HP
€ LOCOMOTION: 6 Vulkanised Wheels.
€ DIMENSIONS: (L) 80CM (H) 16CM (W) 60CM
€ COLOUR: Black all over with the flipper coloured red.
€ WEAPONRY: A full pressure Nitrogen powered flipper at 1000psi, using a single 80mm ram at 1000psi. The flipper is mounted in the middle of the robot, and is 20cm wide and runs 30cm up the body. Using a 3cm long Titanium strip underneath the flipper, and a heavy flipping arm, the flipper runs completely along the ground. Running on a reverse ratio, the flipper produces 1500kg of force at the tips, allowing me to launch anyone away.
€ SPEED: 19mph
€ GROUND CLEARANCE: 0MM-2CM. At the front, it is completely 0mm. On the unskirted sides/rear, its 2cm.
€ STRENGTH: Pushing power and weaponry.
€ WEAKNESS: High side/rear ground clearance.
I hope these sort you out just fine, Dave.

The K-TOAD tournament
Baldur Gamma vs. Tira III
Damn. :lame:
Well seeing as Tira cant damage Baldur, she will try to flip him around with her nicely powerful disc. Itll be hard for Baldur to get by her front anyway, but keep it pointed at him all the same so he cant get under her and throw her around. I dont like Tiras chances in this battle, but I have to try.
Orka MK4 vs. Avarice (4)
Double damn! Ill get you for this, Dave. :lame:
Orka is very tough to fight, as that scoop is quite low, but hopefully I can get in a few blows with my (newly reinforced ) axe before he gets to penetrate my own scoop, or skirting. Go in circles around him, and if I get under him at all, slam him around, whack him, do whatever damage I can to him.
