Cheap drive alternatives

i would also need to find a hub that fits a 540 motor shaft that a wheel could be mounted onto. something like this but to fit 540 motors with a smaller wheel.

i still use drill motors in my daughters machine but the gearboxes dont last very long and space is a problem with this chassis.

by what you have wrote there it sounds like your just going to mount a wheel onto a motor shaft

you need some sort of reduction with drive, the motor wont spin if just put a wheel on

whats the problem with the gearboxes?

Mine have lasted fine in hornet 2 and they take a hell of a lot of abuse

yeah but mine take worse abuse, you cant hit yourself. mine got damaged after being hit by hornet right by the wheel :angry: LOL, you wait till the next spinner event LOL.

dont know they just dont seem to last very long for me.

yes, prodigy will be on top form with the new parts fitted, the old nylon tensioner bushes lasted about 2 minutes on 24v before they wore out, and it will have that nice single tooth. I think the best it was running was when i was doing the tech checks at the start of the day in the arena and attacked the crate. Still had a good fight in the whiteboard though even on 12v.

so well fight non stop for 20 flipps just bring the spinners in (out of hat) and then after 20 or when i feel we need to fill co2 ok and start again what do you spinners say ?
