Eye Of The Robot-Series 3 (My first real tornument!)

EYE OF THE ROBOT - SERIES 3

This is the start of a new era of fictional roboteering. Inspired by the FightingRobots fan fiction forum, I€™ve made a new tournament - Eye of the Robot (E.O.T.R). This is a great task for me to learn to write longer things, and put more effort into what I do, and not rush it.

This was an awesome achievement for me, Series 1 had 72 robots, 71 losing, but one great robot winning, called Killotine: EVO, belonging to Steven McGregor. Killotine intended to keep the crown, but he couldn€™t keep onto it, but another Steven McGregor robot was there to grab onto the title, and it got there by using its mighty ring of doom and using his 9 teeth to wreck carnage, as Whirligig 4.0 bashed its way to greatness! Now, the extra 95 robots must take the crown off him


The line-up is going to be like this

R6 - 2 x 1 ON 1, TWO ROBOTS GO THROUGH

PLAY-OFF - 1 x ONE ON ONE

R7 (GRAND FINAL) - ONE ON ONE

Now for the arena:

The Arena

The €˜WreckTaGon€™ is a hexagon shaped arena with three starting squares, coloured gold, green and blue. Originally, it had very little in the way of hazards, and still does, but these are very deadly - we still have the flipping spikes, and we also have the impaling spikes, set in sets of 5 in each corner of the arena, each made of Hardox and designed to cause serious damage. The pit release button for this arena is located on the bottom right side of the arena, with the actual pit being a mere 1meter away from it. The arena is indestructible, with the floor being made of 50mm Hardox, with 3mm of polished Stainless Steel over the top of that, making the floor impossible to damage and VERY SLIPPERY! The walls are also made of 50mm Hardox, and are 45cm high, giving everyone the ability to flip someone OOTA! The arena (from a birds-eye view) is 5metres down and 7metres wide.

The Entry-Rules

€ I need 12 people to enter 8 robots (You can make a team with another vapourboteer if you wish)
€ You must have a MAXIMUM of 4 real-robots and MINIMUM of 2.
€ Wheeled robots must weigh 100kg
€ Shuffling robots weigh 110kg
€ Walkers weights 135kg
€ When you enter, give me your team€™s name, and a link for your robot stats, so I can find them!

and what are the rules for tracked robots?

Yes, you can reserve those real robots, and the rules on tracks are that they must weigh 110kg.

Paul, be more specific. Can they weigh up to or just 110kg and not more or less?

Revision of the rules:

Wheeled robots weight limit 100kg
Shuffling robots weight limit is 110kg
Walkers weight limit is 135kg

When Tossed over it says 2 lives down 1 life left hence the lyrics from the hoosier song Cops and Robbers song from The Hoosiers.
Also if its alright Ill make a team with someone.

Timmy, I might need to open your eyes to the rules of my contest a little:

The rules say you must have +2>8 robots - you have +2>5 robots. Although this rule only applies to one-man teams, Ill let you off if someone joins you team*

Two. Martijn has reserved Big Nipper, and I said he could. So PICK ANOTHER REALIE!

And Three, its impossible to have 2 x Eteks and 4 x Magmotors in a 100kg robot. And for another thing, its impossible to get Eteks at 24V. And what type of Magmotors are they, and whats a Machete, if someone could tell me

Plus...OrkaMK4, Die-Ceratops Re-Invertus, Leprosy Infection, Spring-BOK!, Crash Bandi-Bot 3 and Obliteration. I think you know where to find stats (C&B series).

A machette is basically a **** off big knife, often used as a meat cleaver or to cut a path through jungle foliage.

I would like to know how the machete on Tims machine works, actually.

Im guessing its used as an axe type weapon, but the blade area will be far too large to have much effect on robots. *shrugs*

Doesnt look like an axe weapon. Maybe its a machete that acts like half a spinning bar. If thats the case, then itll be all gyroscope city from the start of the first match. Happy landings Tim. =P

You€™re looking for 12 people to enter this? No offence Paul but even the most experienced writers would struggle to find 12 people to enter a tournament these days. Therefore if you€™re letting people enter in teams of two as well, you€™re never going to fill this tournament up. What I would suggest is letting everyone enter 8 vapourbots and filling the remaining places with real robots. I presume you want loads of real robots in the competition or you wouldn€™t be asking for 2 per entrant, correct?

Secondly, its occurred to me recently that lots of tournament writers have decided to lower the walker weight limit down 50kgs to 150kgs or in this case 135kgs. Is there any reason for this? Are we no longer going to try and encourage walking vapourbots in these competitions?

Also, as others have pointed out Etek€™s can in fact run at 24v, but at that voltage lose their power qualities, and judging by how much they weight it would be a little pointless having them. I€™d suggest you change to something else Tim. But anyway, this isn€™t my tournament so I€™ll leave it down to Paul what he does and doesn€™t want to know in the stats.

You cant leave anything down to me. Id like Kane to close this thread perminantly to prevent anymore comments after this one, and announce the fact Im leaving the thread, as it seems that Ive wasted time, time and time on this thread, trying to do things right, but then messing it up.
