We got ours from robot market place and if you are planning to have another robot later get another receiver at the same time.

RoboChallenge are still selling the DX6 with the BR receiver at £155. http://www.robochallenge.co.ukwww.robochallenge.co.uk for contact details.

Think i will take your advice Mark!your the expert! :proud: and get two recivers. What do you think of the ibc speed controller? i have been thinking about a speedo which is ok to drive my new dewalt motors. My choice at the moment is two scorpion xxl,s one for each motor...an ibc ... or a sidewinder. james at xbots is recomending the sidewinder, but i like the spec and price of the ibc... what would your choice be??

I do recomend the sidewinder too.
The main differences are Pro sidewinder. Current limiter
Casing
Can do heavyweights with normal motors (litton/bosch and simular)
Better support. (Australia is a LOOOOONG way down under)
The IBC is a lot lighter (100 grams or so) and a bit smaller.
pricetag, not to much difference to discount the Sidewinders advantages
2 scorpions XXL. There goes the internal communication and mixing ability. And, compared to the sidewinder, no casing.

The IBC is a good controller, but due to having no casing people often short bits out. Also there is no aftermarket supportwith them anymore as tony fowler found out.
I would recommend the Victor speedos off the Robot Market Place. They are becomming increasingly popular in feathers, or theres the mini vantec, also an amasing controller with increadible control if set-up correctly.

If you want Spectrum stuff try 01865 240551 the Oxford Model Center. he said he can help.

Also fogot we got our second Spectrum from RoboChallenge last month. I would personally not Advise using an IBC anymore, SideWinders are good if you have the budget and weight, but Electrolise are also good and can be repaired in the UK but will need a mixer.

Spektrum DX6 has a mixer in the TX, So electronizes can be used without a mixer in the robot.
-
Spektrum dx6
But I still hate electronizes. :)

If you have never used an expensive speedo, then electronize are good to use. but once youve driven with something abit better, you really notice the difference. What sort of budget are you on? this could wipe out the bulk of good speedos if its not very high.

Spektrum dx6
Leos right if you use the transmitter mixer you dont need a seperate one. We dont use electronizes ethier but many others do, allthough I should spell it correcly :)

Spektrum dx6
Funnily enough that is it spelt correctly Mark :)

Spektrum and Sidewinder is a terrific combo. You wont regret it.
-
Spektrum dx6
nope, even i like the combo :P

Thats the setup in Little Hitter but we use 30V motors out of NuTool Drills, not sure maybe someone else can confirm but Id expect about the same performance out of the DeWalts ones so it should drive very well indeed with the right gear ratio.

The gear box has 3 settings,so im hoping to be able to play about until I find the one i like.I think the ratios are,450/1500/2000.I will be driving a small gear of 18 teeth and then on to a larger gear of 40 teeth which will drive 100mm blue tyers.Im hoping to end up with a medium speed but powerfull pusher. The dewalt motors i guess should be more powerfull looking at the torque specification of 56nm dewalt against about 20/30nm nutool?.. I havent got a clue i realy,i just ask you guys!:)
