Email them to find out.
Personally I wouldnt bother with this system. Had one at the start and got rid of it almost right away. Very cheap, very nasty and it doesnt allow you to do much.
Obviously its up to you but I would look for a 4 channel system.
Bolt it
A quick google shows that Maplin sell some with the same name and look the same, listed as 40mhz am:

Given its almost impossible to weld or glue HDPE, youre stuck with mechanical fasteners. I would bolt it together but Ive heard wood screws hold quite well. If you want it to flex on impact I would mount it strongly at the ends and only loosely support it in the middle. If youre using it structurely and its there to stop flex I would use lots of fasteners evenly distributed and try to key the peices together to take the load off the fasteners.
Depends what youre using it for.
cheers

well we already have them but im still not sure, we only wanted something cheap to to use in battles, money is always the problem in these things
cheers alex
I thought AM wasnt permitted in the rules?
Another option for HDPE is to weld it.
No Im not going crazy, not if this is anything to go by:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HDPE-Plastic-Welding-Rod-Round-3mm-Natural-or-Black_W0QQitemZ270126233351QQihZ017QQcategoryZ1177 4QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItemhttp://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HDPE-Plastic-W...r-Black_W0QQit emZ270126233351QQihZ017QQcategoryZ11774QQssPageNam eZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
The only problem is I have no experience in welding HDPE so I dont know if the effectiveness of a joint is limited by the thickness of the HDPE being used etc. Youd also probably need one of these:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LEISTER-TRIAC-S-240V-PLASTIC-WELDER_W0QQitemZ220117662998QQihZ012QQcategoryZ633 QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItemhttp://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LEISTER-TRIAC-...Z220117662998Q QihZ012QQcategoryZ633QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZ ViewItem
to weld the HDPE, and that eBay item has just sold for £95, so bolts/screws are certianly the cheaper option
HDPE is weldable, it just is not an easy thing to do and its not cheap. It will take some practice to do it right. Even we had a faulty weld during the XFM event.
Bolting it or another way of fastening it is the easiest solution.
anotheer question does anyone know if these wheels from techno bots 4260-011 will fit onto a drill motor shaft? ie screw on
thanks alex
i have just looked in the fra rules and cant see anything to say it isnt allowed, could some verify this please
alex
Well it might fit on if you made the bore hole a bit bigger but as for it screwing on , No . Your probably thinking of the blue wheels which are specially made to have the threaded inserts put into them
They wont just screw on.
AM isnt currently banned in the rules but it is likely to be in the future. If you are purchasing a new set I would recommend against it due to interference.
i was looking at the blue wheels seem slightly expensive for my tight budget
how long untill the am might be banned?
If that is the outcome, probably no less than 6 months.
I would strongly recommend not buying any form of AM transmitter. Dont waste you money and get something reasonable. Ebay have loads of 40mhz transmitters dirt cheap. I bought a really good Futaba FF7 for less than £40 of ebay.
see http://www.technobots.co.ukwww.technobots.co.uk for cheap 40mhz transmitters.
Im probably going to be selling my Technobots 40MHz transmitter kit Alex, if youre interested. I bought it on impulse to be honest when it came out purely because it was so cheap, but Ive only used it once, dont see me using it again any time soon in the future and need money for other bot parts :)
Will put a post in the For Sale section at the weekend (once Im back home for holiday) but just thought Id make you aware of it incase youre interested.
thanks jamie ill look out for it
back from your hols yet?
Yep - email sent :)
