Urgent help anyone, event tomorrow!!
hi people, nite b4 event and the hw is playing up! running 4qd speedos. basically when i press backwards on controller, one motor goes backwards the other goes forwards. both motors work off one stick, forwards works fine on both. any ideas? thanks guys

i have also noticed, when you pressed left or right one motor is supposed to go forwards, the other back , but they are both going forwards. the fault seems to be on one motor, it just goes forward fine but when it is supposed to reverse it goes forward:angry:

sounds like your speedo not reversing, most likely its blown. what 4QDs are they? also what interface are you using?
-
Urgent help anyone, event tomorrow!!
they are ncc 70 speedos, with a dual channel interface

try swapping the signal input cables over (the ones from the interface to the controllers) to determine wether its the speedo or interface.

will try that now, thanks alan

nope, when i changed them over neither motor went forward or backward

it might be the mixing on your tx. mabee inputs on rx. just guessing tho. a swap here and there on the rx might do the trick. or if its a programmable tx it might need programming. i could of course be totally wrong. :)

shane, what do you mean mate, they are not programmable controllers. your getting too technical for me:crazy:

i tried :) its probably simple. i hope it is anyway

maybe a relay that is stuck?

right, switched the speed controller but not the wiring and the fault is still their but on the other side!! so it looks to be a speed controller fault.

Id agree with Leo ....check the relays on the duff board.

Also check the relay operating voltage.
The voltage is marked on the relays. Make sure these are correct as 24v relays will not operate from 12v and 12v relays will soon burn out their coils if used on 24v.
36 and 48v versions use the 24v relays but with a resistor in series with the relay coils and other components changed as appropriate.

The fault described in the above link matches your description.
Item 23 in this link (Reverse-ignition diode 1N4148)

thanks for that, i will have a look after the event, unfortunately time is against me now.

A quick snip of just one leg of the offending diode ( effectively removing it from the circuit ).....if it exists on your board ...should prove if its at fault i.e. Short circuit.
Go on .......youve got plenty of time.:)
