Yes....RC smart 100A ESC 12v ..Leo sells them.
AND THEY ARE GREAT !!!!!!!! :):):)
I agree. Small, light, easy to use, affordable.
The 2 Hannibalitos and the raptor use these, and the tests we have done show no problems.
The 2 people who smoke those on a regular base are Bugs and John Lear.
And thats because of mechanical damage to the drivetrain , and therefor stalled motors for longer than a few seconds.
Pricetag/quality, these are among the best we have seen.
They are what they are, no nonsense 6 to 12 volt speed controllers. They are 16 pounds each, you need 1 per motor. So for 32 pounds + p&p you can drive your featherweight with more control than relays and you dont need a receiver battery anymore.
They dont do current limiting, so you can blow them up if things go wrong, but at a rating of 100A forward and 60A reverse it is not a small task to do so. Mind you, its not like its never been done before. :)
That pretty much all i can say about them. No more, no less.
are they easy to use?
and for future reference how do i buy some?
thanks alex
Well on the blue box you see a diagram how to connect them. The short and long version: 2 wires go to the motor, 2 go to the battery, and a RC cable goes into the receiver.

Thats it.
Ordering can be done by mailing me, or a pm from this forum.
btw, the box says programmable, there is no way i know of to program these things.
I am looking to run 14.4 volts, does anybody know of a cheap controller for these motors?
I have heard someone or some teams running rc-smarts on 14.4V, however i cannot vouch for it that they will hold out.
For higher voltages check out Gimson robotics Sabretooth or Scorpion XL on Xbotz.
14.4V 60 Amps backwards= .87 Kw
12V 60 Amps backwards= .72 Kw
I dont think it matter that much anymore for a feather.
the only time it matters is if the motor due to the gearbox breaking up
then they will burn out like all speedoes but yes they are very good used in beauty 1 and 2
RC-Smart doesnt have these in stock anymore, so I now hae to get them from a different supplier.
This means that for the next couple of weeks I wont be able to ship these speed controllers as fast as I have done in the past. Since last week Ive sold quite a few and my stock is very low. Ive ordered a new batch today so hopefully all goes well. I need to check wether or not these are in fact the same as RC-smart used to sell.

RC-Smart doesnt have them but there still available at about 4 other places ive found, except the ones ive just received are all gold..! but they have got the same stickers on, look the same inside and still weigh 60g inc. leads!
Looking forward to using four of them in my new bot, not going to be pushing them hard for drive..! so its going to be low..!
Chris
The new supplier has shipped a batch of them out to me, but so far they havent reached me yet. I was told by RC smart they would have new ones in stock in a couple of weeks as well.
These ESCs are not hard to find on the net, its just that because i buy them in bulk the price is somewhat lower. But to me its all the same where you get them from. Its not like im getting rich of of them with a 21 pence profit margin. :)
