Help celebrate Roaming Robots 4th Birthday in style, when it takes to the Guildford Spectrum. This is one of, if not THE MOST exciting sports complex in the UK.
With two shows on the Sunday, we hope that you will join us during the Saturday while we celebrate what has been an eventful and successful 4 years, and have a true roboteers summer party.

Roaming Robots would not be where it is today without the continued support from all the roboteers, those who help us build and take down the arena, those who turn up show after show, and those who do all the little things in the background. We thank you !!

Time for some relaxation, enjoy the facilities of the venue, take to the ice for a bit of ice skating, followed by a ten pin bowling competition, then its back to the campsite provided by us for an evening of food and drinks and a celebration worth remembering.

Dantomkia, Batterbot and the rest of our fleet will be there, as it is a local event, but that wont stop us camping. we hope to see loads of robots, because this venue is as good as John says.
P.S. John, youve got no hope of beating me at Ice-skating, Bowling or what ever you choose, and im brining the heels. :lol:

I hope to make it to this one. I wont have any robots but itll be nice to see people again.

i nshud be there for my first event with a robot, is there any forms i need to fill in to compete?

Is there a paticular time you have to be there ? I have an AW event on the 16th so Id get to guilford about 5:00

You will just need to ensure you are a member of both Roaming Robots, and the FRA to take part, can be done before hand via the websites (advisable) and then go to the Guildford page on the RR website where you can sign up officially.

Saturday, we will all be camping, come whenever you like.
Sunday the first show is at 2pm.

While I€™m here, info about the camping being provided and general plan will come next week so people know what€™s planned.

any news?? oh and on a stranger note can anyone let me use there charger mines ..... well not working would be an intresting way of putting it

Jonno is away for a few days and wont be able to get on the internet..... and im sure its fine you can take photos. Never been any restrictions before so dont see any at Guildford. Even pop them on the RR site in the photo gallery if ya like.. show everyone your work :)

Ive got another event to go to over the weekend, but its an AW one and only a small social gathering, so as soon as its done Im heading for guilford, but by the time I get there youll all be heading for the camp site, so Ill have to enjoy the facilities another time.

Ill be in reading. The AW event finishes at 4 and theres a straight train from reading to guilford so ill be fine. Thanks for the offer though

Does anyone have an offcut of Ti or Hardox I could have/purchase and pick up at Guildford in time for the UK FW champs?
I am looking at dimensions of no less than 450mm x 110mm x 4mm (although not too thick please :))

Life is a bit hectic and very stressful this week.

There will be an email sent tonight with all the information when I return from my task of teaching 100 kids at a local school of how to build feather weights today !!!

Jenny And Geoff have asked me to say sorry on their behalf as theyll be staying longer on their hols so wont be coming to Guildford after all (nice for some eh? :wink:)

Can anyone voulenteer to give me a lift from the spektrum to the campsite ? Ill be dropping off my robot in the spektrum and going to the campsite whenever everyone else does.

That was an awesome half weekend, was nice to see so many people I hadnt been in contact with for years.

Thanks to everyone who fed me and sorted me out with tent/sleepingbags etc after my unexpected arrival at the campsite.

I cant wait to get my heavyweight up and running again and attend a few more events.

Just a message to say thanks to the roboteers who helped celebrate 4 years of Roaming Robots.

4 years ago, We were introduced to the robot community where we were building the first arena for the first time.... and as each roboteer arrived they all mucked in and helped.
A real community spirit.

What a 4 year roller coaster it has been, now look at us !!!

Well Guildford certainly lived up to how succesful the events have become for 2007 with an amazing number of fans coming to both shows, certainly the biggest weve seen for a long time !!!

Highlights of the weekend include....


Dantomkia,doing better than ever ( novice driver aswell )
Thor attacking the House robot ( crowd loved it )
The wooden robot exploding when flipped.

The whole event was fantastic and the word on a lot of audience members on the way out was when can we buy tickets for next year ???
