10th & 11th February 2007 - Robots Live! Leicester

Robots Live! Is back for its second year. 3 shows over 2 days with the robots fighting it out to be crowned 2007 Champion. This will also be the debut for the new Robots Live! Arena which is currently under construction. We also want to introduce different fight formats into the show such as Tag Team and FW football to add abit more interest for roboteers and audience.

Saturday 10th 5-7pm
Sunday 11th 12-2pm and 3-5pm

Hermitage Leisure Centre,
Silver Street, Whitwick,

Located between the M1 and A42, easy access from all over the UK. Food will be provided on the Sunday between shows. As last year, Appearance fees / expenses / prize money will be subject to tickets sales.

Having helped them source come of the parts for their arena design all Ill say is imagine scaling the full combat XFM arena up to heavyweight proportions.... a free beer to the first person who spots the XFM influence on the day....

Why is this event not listed in ascending date order on the live events page like the other ones are?

They get sorted after a couple of days!

Small Torque is signed up. Hopefully Pillow Torque will be ready by then as well. Hope you dont mind if its a late sign-up.

Every kid from my old school now has a flyer, 30 leaflets went in each register today.

Due to the large amount of featherweights attending we have got to put a stop on FW only teams, heavyweight teams are still welcome to bring there FWs but they have to be kept on their pit table

It would appear that my comment above about the XFM influence has been read into by certain people who are suggesting that were funding this event, providing materials etc etc.

This is not the case and for the avoidance of doubt the similarity referred to is nothing more than the same truss as the XFM arena uses (although more of if).

The Youngs are working hard to make this event raise the bar for heavy events in just the same way as XFM aimed to do it for feathers. It would appear that my post above has been used by some to suggest that they are not capable of doing this themselves without help.

The truth is quite the reverse to the degree that we have already formally stated to them that rather than building out own XFM Heavy arena we will be using their services to support what were doing in 2007 !

Hi Glyn, arena build is going well, the actual arena/stage is finished (just a few bits to be painted), so thats the major fabrication done. Working on a few things at the moment that will make this unlike any other show weve seen on the circuit.

On the list of feathers attending there a quite a few spinners so i presume so. I think its 18mm ply on the floor aswell.

Yes FW Spinners are allowed, the top layer of floor is MDF, this is to be consistant with other arenas.

Hi guys, can someone help me out ? I need to come to this event with my robot but not to fight, its being properly fitted for a new hardox scoop by Grant cooper, and since I think taking a 12kg robot on a bus it going to be problematic, I am wondering if anyone is able to give me a lift from Leicester to Whitwick ?
