What did you think of them?
2 of the best films ever made.
Got the 4 DVD box set and have watched all 4 many many times. Both normal and Directors cuts.
Brilliant series of films
Aliens and Alien 3 are probably my favorites.
Aliens 3 directors cut throws a different view on the film. Makes it better.
Didnt like Resserection the first time i watched but its grown on me now
Most people dont liek Alien 3.
I think Alien 3 is better than Alien
What about Alien vs. Predator? 3 out of 10 for that one. :lame:
I actually thought AvP was quite good Prob 6 out of 10
(Watched Alien 3 Directors cut again last night after see this:crazy:)
Alien - nice but was a bit slow to start
Aliens - my fav, watching a bunch of american marines getting hammered
Alien 3 - Not bad, just kinda biege on this one
Alien resurrection - exceptionally bad, the new director went too far by putting the human face on the alien.
AVP - Awesome film, great ending as well!
Speaking of films about monsters etc. What does everyone think of doom the movie?
Personally i loved it, especially the first person shooter bit.
AVP seemed a little too fake to me :lame:. Freddy vs Jason kicked arse.
I went to see Alien Resurrection at the cinema. I had waited ages and was really looking forward to it. Then came the Queen giving birth to the Human/Alien thing! I nearly walked out i was that disgusted with it!
that was the biggest let down of all time in film making. Ive kind of got over it now and am able to watch the film.
Not seen Doom.
Game over, man. Game Over!
I actually did my gcse english media assignment on the first 2 alien movies.
loved the first, classic horror.
loved the second, kickass shooty film
loved the third, but not as much as the book (yes, I read)
loved the 4th, but did cringe a bit in parts.
loved AvP, but again, not as good as the book, which is awesome, and not even as good as the comic (i recommend the book to everyone)
I liked Doom, despite the negative reviews it got...
*runs away, being chased by flaming pitchforks*
*douses pitchforks in hydrochloric acid, destroying them*
Doom wasnt bad, but I really want to see the next Spider-Man movie. The past two were excellent!

My opinion was that Spiderman 2 was overrated but hey my opinion doesnt matter.
Im probably showing my age here but I clearly remember sitting in a cinema in LA in 1979 wondering what this movie was going to be about...Bearing in mind that Star Wars had been released the year before and I was thinking of something on the same theme. It turned out to be the scariest movie I has ever seen, up till then there had been nothing like it. I remember one poor girl in the row in front being physically sick during that famous scene.
The original Alien movie was and still is a truly iconic film that has been copied many times but never equalled.
I would argue with you there Geoff, Space Balls did a pretty good interpretation
I thought the first two were the best. The third was good as well, but the fourth seemed to me like trying to drag on a series for one film too many.
Doom the movie sucked. The current Dr. Who story is more like Doom than the Doom movie was:lame:
ALIEN tried to warn about the fact that the universe may hide some horrors that humans arent ready for. Its sequel tries to warn that even in the brightest of futures superior technology cant save humans from repeating some costly mistakes from the past.
True enough?
Thats a very deep and philosophical view Kevin...
It may well be true, but back in 1979 apart from it being without question the scariest movie of the year, the highlight for me was seeing a very fit Sigorney Weaver in her underwear!
She looked better in Alien 3 with the shaved head.
Grrrrrr!!
XD :proud:
The music in both Alien (Jerry Goldsmith) and Aliens (James Horner) is superb.
