Ok, have got the local phone number starting 01795.
Used Ceris link to get some more information.
Is Ceris link the one you are after?
Would you like me to give them a ring Yoeri?

Can somebody help me ?
hello,
the link that Ceri gave comes from http://www.technobots.co.ukwww.technobots.co.uk,
they dont sell the product anymore...
some info about the speedcontroller i have:
he number you need to contact them: 01428 727825
but first read the mail....
Rex and his team have now completed the first batch of 14 pre-production controllers, fully assembled and tested, and these are now available to clubs. They will include circuit diagrams and connection instructions. The normal price will be £45 plus vat and p&p.
Because of the delay, BTexact Technologies have kindly agreed to subsidise the cost of each of this first batch by £10. This will bring down the price to £35 plus vat and p&p. Subsequent production controllers will also be heavily discounted.
The next batch will be available in three versions:-
1 - Ready built and tested units. Consisting of two circuit boards and data pack. Price £60 plus vat and p&p-includes discount.
2 - Complete kit of parts to produce the two boards. Including two pcbs, a pre-programmed PIC micro-controller. Full circuit diagrams and pcb overlays. A high level of knowledge is required to complete. Price £45 plus vat and p&p-includes discount.
3 - A kit consisting of the two pcbs and the pre-programmed PIC
micro-controller. The builder will need to supply the rest of the components. Full circuit diagrams and pcb overlays. Also includes wiring diagram and parts list. A high level of knowledge is required to complete. Price £20 plus vat and p&p-includes discount.
The controllers are available from
Education Distribution Services,
Education House Castle Road Sittingbourne Kent ME10 3RL

Hi Yoeri,
Just checking before i phone them today. you want version 3 kit. How many do you want?
-
Can somebody help me ?
Spoke to EDS this morning and they put me onto Young Engineering. I spoke to them and as far as they are aware the Rex Robot Challenge speed controllers have not been made since 2002.
Joanne said she was not sure how or why people think that they are involved with these speed controllers. She said they have nothing to do with them.
Sorry about that Yoeri but i think this lead has just gone cold

Rung 01795 427614 1st. They put me onto 01428 727825. They said they have nothing now to do with it and the speed controller has not been made since 2002.
I agree with Ewan. Ive got Electronize and they are very easy to use.

Yoeri, a interesting speed controller for roboteers may be found on the DRG forum.
http://www.dutchrobotgames.nl/forum/viewtopic.php?t=748http://www.dutchrobotgames.nl/forum/viewtopic.php?t=748
Available in Holland, may wel be worth it.

Yoeri, There are lots of small speed controllers out there. I prefer Electronize but M.Sonik controllers also work. Both can be plugged directly into a receiver. Technobots carries the Electronize controllers (and some others). For about 40 pounds you can have two channels of control, one for each motor, which will do the same job as the Rex controller. Good luck with your build.

Can somebody help me ?
More reliable aswell, Lots of people had problems with rexs controllers. If your using Wiper motors get the 15amp CPU vershions.
-
Can somebody help me ?
I do not disagree with you, but the problem is and always is that Technobots doesnt deliver to holland anymore. Thats why I referred to the DRG site.
-
Can somebody help me ?
If you dont get the speed controllers you want from a Dutch source then you could go to the Electronize website and order directly from them. As far as I know they will ship to the Netherlands.
-
Can somebody help me ?
so if i buy a electronize 15 amp controller i can do the same whit it as whit the controller from rex...
-
Can somebody help me ?
Hi,
Rexs old controller controlled 2 motors, where as an Electronize only controls one motor. So you will need to buy 2 Electronize controllers then maybe get a MIXER which will allow you to control 2 motors on one Stick like Rexs Controller did.
Both the Electronizes speed controllers and the Mixer are both on sale at technobots.co.uk.
Mr Stu
-
Can somebody help me ?
And the price for the Electronizes and mixer is about the same as what youd have to pay for the Rexs controller, so theres not too much of a loss if you choose one over the other
-
Can somebody help me ?
where can i buy a mixer and how much does is cost me.
And is there no speedcontroller like the md22 that also controlles 2 motors, only that whit 15 Amp (becuase the md22 has got a 5Amp Specification)
let me know
yoeri:)
-
Can somebody help me ?
they also say about the md22 : Uses high current MOSFETs capable of much more than the 5Amp Specification.
They are capable of 27Amp continuous with a suitable heat-sink and up to 290Amps in very brief repetitive pulses.
Without a heat-sink they can handle 5Amps continuously, hence our specification.
so if I put a heat-sink on it i can use it or not.

Can somebody help me ?
It should be ok, but if i remember it doesnt have failsafes so you would need two, which are about £10-15 each.
-
Can somebody help me ?
the controllers of electronize are 23 pond auch at electronize.co.uk...where are they 10-15 each
-
Can somebody help me ?
Dec 2004 (from software version 3)
Pulse time in RC mode is now verified to assure it is within specified time period of 800us to 2.2ms. Pulses outside of this timing will act to stop the motor. There is also the addition of an extra two RC servo modes which will stop the motors if a valid pulse is not received on channel 1 for a period of 200ms.
-
Can somebody help me ?
so i need 2 mixers an 2 electrinize controllers...
thats 23+23+10+10=63 ponds
-
Can somebody help me ?
No just 1 mixer Yoeri.
Ive got the electronize set up with only 1 mixer.
-
Can somebody help me ?
I would suggest getting the 15amp microprocessor controllers not the analogue as i have a pair of these and they blow within seconds of switching on, the micropro ones are alot more reliable (i think the failsafes are better as well, not sure on that tho). I suggest as well buying one with a 5volt output to power your RX saves have an extra battry for it.
