I dont think so, havent seen it for the longest time...
As I recall, a rule change for RW series 7 rendered their pneumatic system illegal, which is why it didnt compete in that series. Whether its around on the live event scene I dont know.
Answer to that is no - not in the 2+ years Ive been around.
i remember they had a robot previous to that, might of been called mace i cant remember..
Yes, that robot was called Mace. It entered RW Series 2 & 3. In Series 2 it beat Chaos and entered the series finals, to lose to Panic Attack (I think). In Series 3 it again progressed to the series semi-finals, and beat Big Brother, but Chaos 2 beat it afterwards, getting its revenge.
Hope that helps. :)
I believe it lost to Panic Attack in a race through the Gauntlet. Im not actually 100% sure, as I never saw Series 2, but I think thats right.
Indeed thats true. The two robots went the same distance and had to do the Gauntlet again. PA beat them.
I was so intrigued when I saw Gemini for the first time - fantastic innovative machine.
Yeah...shame about the reliability though. Losing to a robot like Napalm, one of the...well, most under-developed robots out there, on a pure technicallity is NOT going to do your reputation a lot of good, is it?
it wasnt really a technicallity, both parts of gemini were stuck on there backs and couldnt move when it was counted out, Gemini were just unlucky that the whelie bar prevent them from self righting.
well, you design 2 great machines (well, tecnically 1 machine) and decide to correct a minor flaw. it wheelied. so they put little wheels on the back to stop it, and it messed up the self righting.
shame really
Typical really. Try to get rid of a minor flaw, and it ends up producing a major flaw (and it happened twice with both machines, so it is major).
Come to think of it, one of the twins flipper looked rather...not well in that mayhem qualifier. It didnt appear to want to go all the way down, which is why trying to flip the twin back over was probably a massive mistake. Nudging it back over may have worked much better.
Wheelie-ing isnt really a minor flaw. Say for example a twin was trying to get under WBC, but wheelied and ended up on top of WBC because of this...
we would have a cluster bot in the roof
Lets see...if about 100 kilos or so of Axe Awe flys halfway across the arena and out and at such a height...divide by two...yeah, I see the problem. But still wheelie-ing isnt as major a problem as getting stuck in a position you cant self-right in is.

Wait, their weapnos illegal? What exactly is the violation???
Not 100% sure on this but I think the change was to outlaw sodasteam bottles as a power source for pneumatics thereby rendering Geminis system illegal
That is correct. But I believe it was already at series 6, not 7.
Dont Team Mace have a new robot now?
They are not on the live circuit and I havnt heard that theyre active.
Shame, they had great robots...
gemini was one of my fave machines, mainly the idea of a clusterbot.
i think a cluster is long over due on the live circuit.
why not get a few people together to build middleweights, and team up. nothing says your bots must be identical.
we have some clusters on the european ciruit. 2 raptors even.
ARE THE ENTERING MY EVENT, AND IN WHICH WEIGHT CLASS? raptors or feather cluster or both?
No need to shout. :)
One raptor cluster might come along, but the other ones are german and I dont think they will come.
I thought this was a thread for Gemini? :lame:
It is, but this is a thread on the FRA forum, it wouldnt belong here if it didnt stray off topic :proud:
Point taken.
Had any mushrooms today? :proud:
is that 1 big mushrooms or 2 mushrooms of half weight?
a clustershoom
Clustershroom
I dont know why, but that had me laughing for half an hour straight.
