I have to say, I think your current design on your profile looks perfectly good with a few revisions (joining the sides to the front scoop for example).

it didnt give me the abbility to turn i wanted so goin bak to 2wd brick with wedge sorta idea but wanna see wat the latest competition is coz a lot of the websites are quite old
Err.. 1000+ images, just under a gig of new, old, foreign and concept featherweights impossible for me to host all of them and my dvd burner is ka-put. Not much help really but, suggest some criteria (eg. pusher, flipper etc..)and ill be able to maybe pick out a few and send you the urls.

coz i was runnin the motors side by side so that left bottom wheel ran and top right wheel span and it works jst not very well so goin bak to 2 wd as i cant afford anymore drills.
Josh, Im building a robot similar to yours only it is 4WD instead of 2WD. Theres a pic of the current version on my profile but its in the process of being rebuilt. The armour will be twice as thick and will be more of a Tornado/KR2 clone with scoop. Unfortunately it will be a couple of weeks before I can upload any pics of the new one.
As for affording drills, Ewan has some cheap drills for sale @ http://www.gimsonrobotics.comGimsonRobotics
josh, if I understand you correctly, you are saying that by running diagonal wheels, the bot will not turn correctly?
This isnt the case, if anything, the robot will handle far better. By running diagonals it makes the robot far easier to control in a straight line and the drill motors will have no trouble in turning on the spot.
Trying to get some freebies off Ewan are we AJ? :)
My first bot way back in 2003 had a diagonal wheel set-up running on cordless drills and two 125mm B&Q wheels. It worked a treat, no problems what-so-ever.
Are you having the problems with diagonal drive on a four wheel set-up or with the two wheel format? (or both?).
AJ, keep at it, you never know what could happen
Ah well, it was worth a try. :proud:
i cant suspend my free wheels properyly and its quite slow at turning as oposed to 2wd so goin bak to 2wd stikin with a scoop tho but im not sure whether to have a cyurved robot bak or a flat face at the back

Sorry to hijack the topic for a min Josh, but Ill have a pic up of my feather soon, if anyone wants a look.
Dont expect much though, seriously. lol
Just been busy this weekend sorting KR3-SP2 out. Its been waiting for some sorting out but i just hanvt had time but now i have this weekend. Electrics all been sorted so the motors and batteries will be happier. also i have added a gyro in it, and linked the gyro off switch with the Flip (invert steer) switch on my transmiter. Also the main problem with KR3 was the wheels were just not getting the grip, too wide and so on. So nice new grooves put on all 4 wheels, so hopefuly will see what its like at next event. Aylesbury i think yeah. Pic of KR3-SP2 will be on the new Team Kat site soon.
Mr Stu
im almost there i think jst gotta do a top and the scoop and wedge to be hinged on the bar once i get them made (anyone up to it i have money:mrgreen:)
pic on profile
Looking good so far mate - nice and strong :)
Theres a really quite bad photo of my really quite bad robot now up on my profile. People wanna comment? (Please be kind. lol)
looks pretty gd comapared to mine
Its main advantage is that there aint much to get hold of. Itll fly pretty well too :)
There is now a better picture on my profile. lol. This is before paint and such tarting up, so it may look better (or worse!) on the day
im thinkin about changin my design slipghtly so that the robot will be 40 cm wide and only 17 long with some scoop on the front (btw anyone ho has the stuff to make me a scoop a bit like the 1 on kr3 send me an email coz ill pay anyone to do 1 for me)
