Wanted: 18v drill motors

Hi everyone. I know this should be in the Wanted section, but I didnt know if the feather builders read that, so I stuck it here instead.

Im after some 18v drill motors, as I do not think that the 12v ones for the pods that I ordered from Mr Cooper will cut it at 24v (I want my bot to have a lot of power), so I wanted something that can handle it for a 3 minute fight on an almost continuous basis.

Go to your local wooloworths / Argos and try and find some cheap cheap 18 v drills . I got about 6 from woolies and im using 4 in my feather and it is perfect driving at 24v

Where can one get spare reverse threaded screws for drill motors. Im always losing mine :sad:

David I may have 3 18v drill motors. I did have 4 but burnt one out when running it for a solid 10 minutes (I like to see how far I can push things:)).

O and just so you know David, these are the motor only. No gearbox. There is a small gear on the end of the motor shaft but no gearbox.

thats ok Gary, most drill motors fit into similer gearboxes, so Im only replacing the motors that come with the set James is sending me. So how much ? and yes, a pic would be nice, thanks :).

£3.50 a motor plus postage? (that will probably only another £2)

Your only going 6v over the recommended 18 volts , it isnt that big a risk , im running 4 x 18V drills at 24v and the motors barely get warm

david they will be fine. Trust me. When I test a motor, i really test it!

BTW, is Typhoon Thunder/lighting still active ? I created a LW design that won two LW tournements in the fanfic section. I know thats fanfic, but I wouldnt mind seeing how it did against TT/TL

All of our robots are now in pieces in various places. It is sad but thats how things go.
