Registration
Please fill out the application form (available later) and send it back by e-mail. You will receive confirmation of your registration within 2 weeks. Unfortunately there is only room for a limited number of robots. Applications will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis.
For a better show, we would like robots and roboteers to look their best. Please bring your €œintroduction music€ if available and wear team colours. Because of limited room, teams with heavyweight robots can bring no more than 3 people. Teams with raptors or featherweights, no more then 2.
Competition
Robots must comply with the FRA build rules. Competition will take place in the following classes: heavyweight, featherweight and raptors (6 kg, GRA rules; http://www.roboteers.orgwww.roboteers.org). Matches will be 1 V 1. Between final matches on the last day of the tournament a couple of specials will be organised, like flipper-frenzies.
Dutch Robot Games will build its own arena, FRA-class 3, 6x6 meters. Spinners may be allowed, depending on available Polycarbonate screens, to run during the last session of the weekend. Final decision on this will be made in a couple of weeks.

The doors between the pullpen and the arena have been tested last weekend and work well.

We still have room for 2 or 3 heavies. There is always room for feathers and raptors.
Our preparation for the event is going well. The event itself is allready widely announced in daily newspapers and on national radio.

Not really enough notice for most teams and the fact that we had already signed up for the winter tour, but I remember the last time we turned up to a Belgium event :) so Id be careful what you say about english robots.

Great event. Great arena, Fierce competition, with some very spectacular fights and impressive looking damage. The new Lexan walls came in handy straight away in the first day of the competition.
I made it to the semifinals, wich was a first for me. There Hannibal met Kan Opener and unfortunatly Hannibal is now a convertible. So it will need a bit more repair than the usual spit and polish. I had great fun though and Hannibal will be fine.

The arena looks good though.

The disc was made from Aluminium (driven by a Magmotor), they now know not to make a disc from aluminium.
The robot it broke on has titanium armour; we actually didnt have any damage from that impact, only a small scratch :).

More (unsorted) pics: http://www.bugs.nl/media/album/index.php?path=L3J3L3V0cmVjaHQyMDA1Lw==http://www.bugs.nl/media/album/index...VjaHQyMDA1Lw==
Its not that clear on the video btw, but the disc flew straight into the polycarb (12mm). Fortunately it left little more than a scratch and a small dent.
And any Brits that wanna show us how its done are more than welcome at a next event!
-
25/27th Nov - DRG - GameExpo/HCC - Utrecht, Netherlands
Aluminium is perfectly fine in most cases as a disc material, but only if its the right grade... that one evidently wasnt :)
Very nice arena guys! Do you think its up to the biggest spinners?
-
25/27th Nov - DRG - GameExpo/HCC - Utrecht, Netherlands
