The All Out Robot Rebellion
Guess whos back at the writers desk for the first time in practically a year! :)
Ok, heres how it works, vapourbots, real robots, and house robots are going to be competing here.
I need 8 people to enter a team of three robots (1 vapourbot, 1 real robot, 1 house robot). First come first serve basis, the real robots can be from any Robot Wars Series, but the House Robots have to be from the latest series (Series 7). Any stats are acceptable for vapourbots, but they must be as realistic as possible, no sheer magic stuff.
I would like to get this tournament quickly going as soon as possible, so get those entries in soon!
ROUND 1:
8 x 3-way melees -- Vapourbot vs. Real Robot vs. House Robot in each melee. 1 robot survives in each melee to move on to round 2.
ROUND 2:
4 x 1-on-1 battles -- 8 machines will be going into this round, only 4 will survive.
ROUND 3:
2 x 1-on-1 battles -- Semi-Finals, basically.
ROUND 4:
Third place playoff and final.

Weapons - A really nice flipper.
Can it self-right - Yes

Ground clearance - 0 at the front, 0.5 mm at the sides, 0 at the back
Skirts - Side and back skirts
Wheel Type - 6 inch wheels
Motors - Two magmotors geared for torque
Body Shape - Reshaped like Voltronic
Armour - 6 mm Titanium skirts, 9 mm Lexan on the front.
Colour - Spacey
Summary - Well flip you then some?
Strengths - Its extremely low to the ground coupled with a flipper. Also can run upside down if the flipper cops out.
Weaknesses - Its armor isnt all that good.

For a real robot, Ill go ahead and take Tough as Nails. For a House Robot, Ill go with Dead Metal.

Vapour: Wedga Revo (Version 2.0)
Real: Storm II

Wedga Revo (Version 2.0)
Shape: A cut off wedge like Steg 2, instead of the wedged front these is now a scoop that the lifting arm rests inside in its normal position. The sides and back are all slightly slanted to deflect spinners.
Dimensions: 800mm x 700mm x 150mm (Length x Width x Height)
Motivation: Driving Wedga Revo are six Aluminum hubs with a layer of Vullkolan bonded on for extra grip on the arena surface, these are 140mm in diameter and 50mm in width.
Drive: Driving the wheels are two LEM130 Lynch Motors run on 48v from a 3300mAh NiCad botpack. This gives approximately 18hp that should out push quite a few robots and makes a great combination with the front scoop. The robot is under the control of a Vantec speed controller meaning the power is all controlled and put to good use.
Speed: Wedga Revo can reach a top speed of about 15mph so it€™s nice and controlled and has a decent acceleration to top speed.
Turning Circle: Wedga Revo uses a skid steering system like Tornado so that it can turn on the spot but maybe not as well as two wheel drive robots.
Ground Clearance: There is around 10mm of clearance all around the robot minus the front scoop that rests along the ground so it can get under virtually anything, the sides and back are skirted and rest together at the corners giving it 0mm clearance all the way around the robot.
Skirts: The skirts are made of 5mm thick Grade 5 Titanium and are hinged to the sides and back of the robot by a rotary joint, the skirts all meet at the corners meaning it is very hard to get under the robot from any angle.
Armour: The baseplate is constructed of 5mm thick Aluminum, that should protect the bottom if for any reason another robot manages to flip and attack the bottom. The front scoop is made of 3.2mm thick Hardox that is very hard to bend of shatter if not impossible. This is used for deflecting spinner attacks and general scooping up and pushing around. The top, sides and back are all made of 6mm thick Grade 5 Titanium that are all bolted onto the 50mm Hardox box section chassis.
Weapons: The main weapon is a flipping arm that is hinged at the rear of the robot and rests down the wedge and inside the front scoop so if a spinner hits the front scoop the arm should not be damaged. The flipping arm is 100mm wide and is made of Grade 5 Titanium and is shaped like the scoop at the front so it can flip any robots on the front scoop easily. It is powered by a big 80mm bore 100mm stroke custom-made Aluminum ram. This is pumped with CO2 gas at a pressure of 150psi contained in two 2.2kg canisters and a 1.1kg buffer tank giving around 35 flips in a fight. This should mean the flipper can produce around 540kgs of force each flip that should send other robots flying! This set up can comfortably flip 400kg so any heavyweight class robot should not be too much of a problem. The front scoop/rear skirt and drive train are also a great way of ramming robots around the arena and can work well with the flipper for flipping robots out of the arena.
Self-Righting Mechanism: The flipper can self-right the robot with ease with stylish jumps off the ground.
Notes: An almost unchanged version, just with a modified bodywork.

If Chris goes for it, then team up with him to flip that Psycho over. With us working as a team, and my three 750 psi pistons we should get him over. Then, I should be lower than Bulldog Breed as well so just get under him and flip him oota.
Dead Metal could probably get Killotine in its grasp, so just take him and shove him everywhere while cutting him up. Dont let go. If he eventually dies, then do the same for Spawn Again.
Tough as Nails could probably grasp around Sgt. Bash, and crunch him to dead. (SGT. has horrible armor) and pit him or something. Then turn on Die Cera whatever, and if I can, grab him too and go for a pit. Though, I might change my strategy if I can get some STATS.

DIE-CERATOPS RE-INVERTUS
Weight; 100 kilos
Body Shape: Wheely Big Cheese
Speed; 15mph
TC; 0
GC; 0mm at front, 3mm at sides and back.
Wheels; 2 inner, sticking out only slightly,
Armour; 8mm titanium
Power; 3x 12v batteries, powered by a couple of Magmotors
Colour; Green, with Killer Carrot style wrinkles, mouth and eyes. One of the eyes has a plaster over it, the other is a black eye. A few bandages are painted on this time.
Weapons: A huge Wheely Big Cheese style flipper, capable of flipping a tonne or so.
Srimech; As the name suggests, the robot runs inverted. Bars prevent side strandings, and the back is rounded, so stranding THAT way is outta the question. The flipper works upside down.
Inspiration; Ive always liked Dinosaurs. This is a pun of Triceratops. The Invertus part is pretty obvious.
Strengths; The ability to work upside down and still be able to use its weapon, now easier to control.
Weaknessess: Tengu VI

Orkas cute-on-one-side-pure-hell-on-tuther friend, Die-Ceratops is equally as powerful and as nippy as his buddy. In the arena, he can get to oppodents/victims in record time. Then, once his flipper is underneath them, they can kiss the ground good-bye. Of course, hes teamed with me, and I can be rather protective over him...
Anyways...
DIE-CERATOPS REINVERTUS TACTICS
Sgt Bash MAY last 10 seconds. I think my traction is superior to TAN, in which case I can drag it where I want, FOOTA it, or do a Storm 2 and pit it whilst its still holding on, so it has nowhere to go. THINK. If its not superior, then things get a tad more interesting.
BULLDOG BREEDS TACTICS
Somehow I dont think the big guys gonna be too happy over what I did to Growler, and CT2 doesnt look like itll go easy either. Just flip and hope for the best.
SIR KILLALOTS TACTICS
Chaos 2 has not been able to flip Sir K (indeed, Sir K is the only house bot not to have been flipped over*, so thats a bonus in itself), so try and lure it on and get the lance under its open flipper. Deal with Cyberdemon when I come to it.
*Please do note, I said flipped. As in with a flipper. Toppling (which hes done at least once before) is another matter.

ROUND 1
KILLOTINE: EVO - stay with DMs sides and hammer the semi-exposed innards until fatal death. Then, get under Spawn Again from the sides to grapple n Pit with better traction.
CHAOS 2 - oh dear. Either flip Cyberdemon straight away and attempt to OOTA or gang up on Sir K with him. Whichevers least painful. :proud:
MR PSYCHO - too hefty to push that much. Hammer each a few times for fun and either get a grip on them to drop them out the ring or just shove them into the Pit

Okay with stats, I have a better idea of how to deal with DCR.
Pretend to team up with DCR while going for Sgt. Bash with him, but then fall behind. Whilst behind him, grip his wheels and ensure no traction. If this arena has a pit, then pit him. If not, then push him into the Sgt.s claw. Try to get his wheels dead. Once DCR is taken care of, then go for the good ol Sgt. I should grip on the sides and really kill him.
To redo my tactics for Dead Metal. Do the same thing, except with Spawn Again. SA has flat sides and should make a good target. Plus I can shove him into Killotine who can axe him to death.

Cyberdemon: Team up with Steve, stay spun up, and even though my control sucks, Killalots speed isnt excactly first-rate, so it kind of evens out. So try to keep ramming into the armored bathtubs back at full speed, and if that dosent work, get Steve to distract him while Im free to take out the tracks. Once hes out of the picture, stick and move and try to take out the side panel and a wheel. A few more full speed rams should finish him off.
Spawn Again: Err, not much I can do here, Unless Steves willing to team up. Get under and TRY to flip it over. If that dosent work, try pushing it from the side. if THAT dosent work, Im screwed. But I can still act as bait to distract Dead Metal and let Steve hammer away if he gets a clear shot to the side. Once hes out of the picture, try to sneak behind, push into the wall, and flip him clean OOTA.
Sgt Bash: Grip TAN right from the get-go, torch it all the way, and try to pit it ASAP. Might not work, but meh, gotta try. Dont let go either unless im force to: If Dieceratops tries to flip me OOTA and suceeds, TAN has a shot at going down with me. If I dont go down with TAN but TAN goes down, then repeat with Dieceratops.

Okay, its time for Battle # 1
COSMIC THUNDER 2 vs. BULLDOG BREED vs. MR. PSYCHO
Cosmic Thunder 2 is a vapourbot entered by Alex, it has a low flipper, and if that fails, it can run either way up. It is very low to the ground, but the armour is weak.
Bulldog Breed is a real robot entered by Chris Mason, it has a low flipper, and runs very fast. It is also very manouverable, but isnt the strongest of pushers however.
Mr. Psycho is a house robot entered by Steve McG, it has a claw and a hammer, and runs on tracks. It is very heavy, but is not very fast compared to the other robots.

Cosmic Thunder 2 goes for the hefty house robot, and Bulldog Breed awaits an attack, Mr. Psycho attacks Cosmic Thunder 2 with the weak hammer, and slowly backs up, and avoids a flip. Bulldog Breed then goes and flips Cosmic Thunder 2, Cosmic Thunder 2s flipper took damage from the hammer of Mr. Psycho, and similar to Chaos 2 vs. SMIDSY in Series 5 of Robot Wars, where Chaos 2 couldnt get up after SMIDSY attacked the flipper with the disc before Chaos 2 flipped itself over, Cosmic Thunder 2 is suffering through the similar problem, however, thankfully for Cosmic Thunder 2 it runs both ways up. Bulldog Breed decides to go for Mr.Psycho, while Cosmic Thunder 2 hits the pit release button, the square hole opens up in the middle of the floor, Mr. Psycho attacks Bulldog Breed with the flipper, then slowly tries to catch up to Cosmic Thunder 2, however, since the arena is only so wide, Mr. Psycho catches it, and grabs it with the claw, it then lifts up Cosmic Thunder 2, and drops it out of the arena!
The Cosmic Adventures are over for Cosmic Thunder 2! :proud:
Bulldog Breed then charges into the slow to back up Mr. Psycho, and then it gets straight underneath the heavy house robot, and then with a big OOMPH, it gets under Mr. Psycho, and flips it straight over, and crashes it onto the side wall. All thats left to do is for Refbot to come and count out Psycho. 1...2...3...4...5...6...7...8...9...10!!!

Yep, that makes sence. Probably the weakest hammer known to robot wars is able to take out my flipper. And I wait for the house robot to go off my flipper before I flip, loads of sence there. Alot of sence also in the fact that Bulldog Breed, as far as I know, does not have the power the flip Psycho.

OK, now I remember why I stopped writing fights.
That, plus I really dont feel like doing any writing with only about a week left in summer, Id rather get out and relax, and enjoy my last few days of summer. So Im sorry to say this tourney is cancelled.
Im also hereby calling my official retirement from writing, it has gotten too hard to do now with very little time, Ill let Steven, Rich, etc. work on the writing.
