16th October 2005 - RR Winter Tour Qual 3 - Macclesfield

The third qualifier of our winter tour kicks off in the Northern area of the UK, which is always good for the northern robots to have some fun locally. Fighting it out for a place in the final.
Are robots tougher from the North? We shall see...

Tough up north? Its completely dark for 6 months of the year and extremely cold, youve all got pasty white skin and speak with funny accents. You have to be tough in order to be able to take the humiliation from all us southerners laughing at you poor lot :wink:

By the time our end of the country sinks into the sea we shall have moved somewhere much nicer....... begs me to ask the question why they built the channel tunnel to France, why not Bermuda?

Im not entering the tournament but I will be at this event, with Jalapeno if theres room for some whiteboard fights, otherwise I shall just buy a ticket and take some photos for the website.

I might actually be ready in time for this event , plus this is the closest winter event to Scotland :P

Hi Guys,

Due to the popularity of this event, the first show has already sold out, therefore we will be putting a second show on.

This show will start at 6:30pm

As normal, there will be food provided inbetween the shows.

Please let me know if you can / want to stay for the second show.

URGENT !!!!!! if possable can anyone bring along a spare nicad bot pack 24v for me to borrow and try to get shanes heavy working for one fight also if anyone also has a spare co2 to bsp thred adapter that would help too ......... ?:) :) cheers ......... pete ...

Yep, great event, thanks to all the crew. DB5 is still in one piece (just). Should be ready for the next event, hopefully with an astro.

are robots in the north tougher? well they certain fly better, maybe a little less red bull for the big nipper boys would help them stay in the arena better next time hey John ;)

Tanto was actually working quiet well for once got a really good close fight with Ewe 2 later on I was pretty much convinced I was out, but hey Ill take a win any shape or form bring on Folkestone!

Out of the Arena maybe, but still tougher :)

Good event and at least big nipper showed it can still entertain in the whiteboards. Nearly a first heavy OOTA for the arena flipper too, better look next time Stu.

Another successful round the winter tour... just one more qualifying round to go.

I€™ve just been through the results, and current points table will be going on the website soon

We have 1 feather weight, and 3 heavyweights guaranteed to get a place in the final.... the rest is anyone€™s guess.
It all hinges on Birmingham, and all the seeds are attending, so what an event it will be.

As Ive always been told Mark you can put as much as you like into your robots but its no good when your wheels arent touching the floor

Just seen the video, It still took you 48 seconds :) It wasnt really a fair fight anyway, I did swap the channels round on the radio gear before the fight so my brother wasnt used to driving it that way :)

Mark your robot was working and u were in the arena, thats a fair fight, the fact your brother doesnt know how to drive because you changed the set up doesnt make the fight unfair your mistake your problem

How about John drives it next time, then see what happens :)
