Martyns Robot Wars Series 5
Well that time has come again another major tournament from Martyn. But before we get to this series lets see what€™s happened for us to get this far.
First Daniel and pure evil showed us how its done beat 71 robots to become the series 1 champion
Then Steven and 3rd seed scoop and stab the second beat out another 71 robots and fluffy in the final with axe and scoop.
Then Scotty and spinny thing recharged stole the crown by destroying there way to the final.
And lastly SD IV with scoops and saw beat out 95 opponents to let Steven raise the trophy and where the king of the arena crown once more.

Ok now onto the entry requirements
I am looking for 16 people to enter 8 robots for a total of 128 robots
Competitors can be vapour or real (from RW and BB)
However at least one of your competitors MUST be real
The weight limits are
100kg for wheeled robots
110kg for tracked robots
150kg for shuffle bots
200kg for €˜true€™ walkers
Any other movement type will be considered if it€™s entered
No Flying robots are allowed
Robots are allowed to have passive weapons but cant be just a box, it can be a static wedge though.
Clusterbots are welcome however they are limited to four parts, I will be using the 100% rule
There isn€™t really any restrictions on how stats are to be posted but if its not in the stats then its not on the robot. If its in a picture but not in the stats its not on the robot as I may not be able to view the picture when writing the battles. However I will tell you about this before the draw is posted and editing of stats is not allowed within the tourney
The structure will be
16 heats
Round one will be two, four way melees
Round two will be two one on ones
Round three be one, one on one with the two survivors
The semi finals will be much like the robot wars series 3, 4 and 7 semi finals
And the grand final playing out like the mrwt 4 grand final
The arena will be the robot wars 6 arena except the walls are slightly higher then in the 6th wars.
There will be two house robots from the rw house robots in the arena in every fight along with Refbot.
If at the end of the fight more than one (two in round 1) robots(s) are still mobile it will go to a judges (me) decision based on style, control, strategy, aggression and damage
DAMAGE = mark out of 5, multiplied by 3
AGGRESSION = mark out of 5, multiplied by 2.5
STRATEGY = mark out of 5, multiplied by 2
CONTROL = mark out of 5, multiplied by 1.5
STYLE = mark out of 5, multiplied by 1
TOTAL ( / 50) = Damage + Aggression + Strategy + Control + Style
Ta to Steve for letting me use the PTT judging system
In the unlikely event of there being a draw an outside judge will judge the fight.
Reservations
The following people have a reserved place

Ill enter, with:
Battle Raptor 3
Death Adder 3
Drilla Killa 7
Metalmorphosis
MORD2
Ringwraith
Tenderizers Revenge 2
The Matador (real robot)
BATTLE RAPTOR 3
Weight: 100kg
Shape: Low box, painted orange with black stripes like the raptors in Jurassic Park, with a low scoop at the front, with a hammer and a decorative Velociraptor head attached to either side of the scoop (the heads are on the sides of the hammers)
Dimensions: 95 x 60 x 30
Speed: 17mph
Ground Clearance: 0 at front due to scoop, 0 at sides and back due to skirts, 4mm behind skirts
Turning Circle: 0
Armour: 5mm titanium; scoop is 3mm titanium
Wheels: 4, inside robot, poke out the top so the robot can run inverted, use skid steering
Power: 36V battery and motors
Weapon: A CO2 powered flipper/axe. The weapon is positioned at the front of the robot, with a 3mm titanium scoop at the end resting on the floor. Two small Beta-style pointed hammers are fixed to the side of the scoop, extending just above it. The weapon fires quickly like an axe, turning 180 degrees to flip anything at the front and axe anything at the back. It then returns to its original position at a slower speed, because it would deform the flipper otherwise.
Srimech: Weapon acts as srimech. If weapon fails in resting position, robot can run inverted because the hammers on the scoop do not extend to the full height of the robot when it is right side up and therefore do not prop it off the floor. It cannot rest on its sides and rear due to the skirts, which flop down when it is inverted.
Tactics: Flip skirtless opponents and axe skirted opponents.
Strengths: Multi purpose weaponry; invertable; fast
Weaknesses: Cannot use weaponry when inverted except as srimech; wheels vulnerable to axes
DEATH ADDER 3
Weight: 110kg
Shape: The outside is a big 4mm thick titanium ring, with skirts all the way round at the bottom, and also fitted at the top for when the robot is inverted. On the inside top and bottom rim of the ring are small wheels with no drives, to balance it off the ground. Inside the ring, attached to it by bars, is the flat circular body.
Dimensions: 100 x 100 x 25
Speed: 18mph
Ground Clearance: 0 due to front scoop and skirts, 5mm behind skirts
Armour: Ring is 4mm thick titanium; body has 4mm thick titanium
Movement: Camshafts like Drillzilla
Power: 36V battery and motors
Weapon: Main weapon is a pneumatically powered axe with a Beta-style hammer with sharpened ends. The axes attachment to the robot is not right on top, but a bit down into the body, allowing the robot to run inverted. At the front of the ring is a static curved scoop, which has a 0 ground clearance due to a titanium strip at the bottom - hopefully DA3 will ram opponents quickly and powerfully enough for the scoop to go underneath and the opponent to run up it and be overturned, or at least caught, a bit like BB middleweight Red Square. The scoop has a rectangle cut out of its top where the axe comes down when fired, and the ring has a rectangle cut out of its top half at the back where the axe rests, so the axes head and part of the stick bit can come out of it - the cutouts are lined with rubber so the axe doesnt damage itself on them.
Srimech: Axe works as srimech. If axe fails in resting position, the robot can run inverted, but cannot use any of its weaponry.
Tactics: Hammer opponents to death, or try to ram and overturn with the scoop.
Strengths: Fast; powerful axe; difficult to attack by flippers or spinners
Weaknesses: Will be helpless if turned over when axe is stuck in irregular position; could be attacked by axes
DRILLA KILLA 7
Weight: 99kg
Shape: Low invertable box, painted red, with a Tornado-like low wedge at the front, and an upside down one at the back for when the robot is upside down, and skirts at the sides fixed at the centre so they work whichever way up the robot is
Dimensions: 110 x 40 x 25
Speed: 17mph
Ground Clearance: 0 at front due to wedge; 0 at sides due to skirts, 3mm behind skirts, 25cm at most at back due to inverted wedge
Turning Circle: 2cm
Armour: 5mm titanium
Wheels: 6, inside robot
Power: 36V battery and motors
Weapon: Each wedge has a hole in the centre - inside each hole is a diamond tipped drill, spinning at 600 rpm, which comes out of the hole using a motor. It can come out to cause damage when an opponent is on the wedge, or can stay out and cause damage when the robot rams opponents.
Srimech: Invertable; cannot rest on sides due to skirts
Tactics: To get under unskirted opponents, slam them around and bring out the drills to damage their underbellies; to ram skirted opponents with the drills out and try to cause damage
Strengths: Good pushing power
Weaknesses: Drills may not penetrate very thick armour; high ground clearance at back
METALMORPHOSIS
Weight: 150kg with the heaviest weapon system on it.
Shape: Box wedge, with 5mm hinged Aerospace Grade Titanium skirts, meaning they work when flipped. The front wedge is also hinged.
Dimensions: 100 x 50 x 40
Speed: 15mph with the heaviest weapon system, 20mph with the lightest weapon system.
Ground Clearance: 0mm ground clearance due to hinged skirts and a front hinged wedge.
Armour: 5mm Aerospace Grade Titanium
Locomotion: Camshafts
Power: Camshafts powered by 2 C40-400 MagMotors at 36V, which give it a lot of power and speed.
Weaponry: The robot has interchangable weapons. These are:
*An Anti-Crush Frame ala Tornado (s6), but instead of the blade, there are skirts attached, giving a 0mm ground clearance, weighing 10kg.
*A low spinning saw weighing 5kg
*A small vertical disc weighing 5kg
*A 10kg rotating drum weapon like Little Drummer Boy
The front wedge is detachable, so we can fit the rotating drum on.
Srimech: Invertable
Tactics: Rush opponents and damage them with whatever weapon is fitted.
Strengths: Interchangable weaponry, good armour, fast
Weaknesses: Exposed camshafts on top
M.O.R.D2
Weight: 110kg
Shape: Box, with sides that slant outwards from the top and bottom edges to form triangles, like Tornados rear (hopefully this will lower the effectiveness of spinners)
Dimensions: 90 x 32 x 35
Speed: 20mph
Ground Clearance: 0 at front due to plow, 0 at sides and rear due to skirts, which are fixed to the points of the triangles and can work either way up
Armour: Body is 6mm titanium; scoop is 4mm titanium; skirts are 3mm titanium
Movement: Camshafts like Drillzilla
Power: 36V battery and motors
Weapons: At the front is an electrically powered scoop which operates through 180 degrees, so it can work when the robot is inverted. Behind the scoop is a 20kg spinning drum with 8 titanium teeth on it, spinning at 2000rpm and hopefully able to flip robots as well as damage them. The drum comes into play if the scoop is lifted.
Srimech: Invertable; triangles at sides and rear prevent it resting there
Tactics: Shove opponents with the scoop; then lift the scoop and attack with the drum
Strengths: Fast; good traction; powerful drum
Weaknesses: Less manouverable than wheeled robots
RINGWRAITH
Weight: 100kg
Shape: Invertable cylinder on its side, like Barberous, but weapon shaped like Pussycats blade from Series 4 & 5 (side on - its wider of course), painted black
Dimensions: 100 x 30 x 30
Speed: 18mph
Ground Clearance: 10mm
Turning Circle: 0
Armour: 15mm LexiGuard inside and a 30kg Duralumin spinning blade
Wheels: 2, outside robot
Power: 36V battery and motors
Weapon: 30kg Duralumin spinning body. It is powered by a C40-400 at 36V geared 3:1 and can reach a top speed of 900RPM. The entire robot is shaped like Pussycats blade from Series 4 & 5 and is designed to tear into all sorts of armour. The tips of the blades are made from Grade 5 Titanium. Its weapon acts like Corkscrew or Warhog and has a greater power than Matildas flywheel - it can cut into 5mm Titanium.
Srimech: Invertable
Tactics: Just keep slamming into opponents with the spinning body and turn into them to try and keep them from hitting me.
Strengths: Hard to attack, manouverable, powerful weaponry
Weaknesses: Exposed wheels, tricky to control
TENDERIZERS REVENGE 2
Weight: 97kg
Shape: Low invertable box with low wedge at the front and inverted wedge at the back - painted blue with its name painted to look like blood on the skirts
Dimensions: 90 x 90 x 20
Speed: 15mph
Ground Clearance: 0 all around due to low wedge and skirts, 2mm behind side skirts, 20cm behind skirt on inverted wedge. Both wedges have skirts attached to them at their edge. The wedge and side skirts are attached to rotatable cylinders inside the robot (or wedge) so they can be moved up and down. When they are down, they are very low and its hard to get underneath, but the robots speed is reduced to 9mph. The side skirts can go up to a point where they work inverted. The skirts on the wedges move within 90 degrees - when their wedge is inverted, they are in a vertical position to repel flippers, and when their wedge is right way up, they are in a horizontal position, riding along the ground to help get under robots. When the robot is moving around normally, all skirts except the front wedge one are pulled down low but not to maximum lowness so it can move quickly - the skirts go to maximum lowness if a flipper comes anywhere near it.
Armour: Main body has 5mm polycarbonate on top of 5mm titanium, skirts are 4mm titanium, wedges are 5mm hardox
Wheels: 4, inside robot
Power: 36V battery and motors
Weapon: An electrically powered lifting arm, which runs along half of the top of the robot - its tip is pointed to help hold onto robots, and is at the point where the wedge meets the body, and it does not go down the wedge. It can rotate through 360 degrees so it can be used when the robot is inverted.
Srimech: Invertable - arm will act as srimech, but this will hardly happen as the robot works identically both ways up. Moveable skirts prevent it from resting on its sides.
Tactics: Run into opponents, try to get under them, then get them onto its top and onto the arm. The arm turns them over, or catches them so I can carry them around.
Strengths: Decent pushing power; moveable skirts; difficult to attack by flippers
Weaknesses: May struggle to use arm against some opponents

Martyns Robot Wars Series 5
Ill enter. Stats below:
Name: Manic Monsoon
Weight: 100kg
Armour: 5mm Hardox all over.
Speed: Roughly 28mph
Shape: Box wedge with side skirts and rounded back.
Weapon 1: A linear actuator powered lifter running by a 4 bar system at 24v. This can lift 200kg easily.
Weapon 2: A small strip of Grade 5 Titanium on the front wedge, which gives 0mm ground clearance.
Strengths: Powerful drive and good strong weapon
Weaknesses: A bit too fast and hard to control when at full speed.
Ground Clearance: 0mm on front and sides, 1cm at back.
Srimech: Invertible, but can self right using the lifter if wanted to.
Notes: The robot is powered by 2 B42-500 MagMotors running at 60v. This gives Monsoon approx 60HP! The robot has a total of 6 wheels, 3 on each side. Each side is linked together by a set of heavy duty belts, giving 0m turning circle and the manoeuvrability of a 2 wheeled bot, and each wheel is coated in Vulcalon. The front wedge is angled at 42.5 degrees, meaning that it is not too steep or too shallow. The lifting arm is powered by a S28-150 MagMotor, and is made from 7075 Aluminium. The lifter itself can lift a total of 200kg, and can self right the robot if needs be. The side skirts are made from 4mm Titanium and are hinged.
Name: Dallas D Squared
Weight: 100kg
Armour: 7mm Titanium Vanadium alloy
Speed: 18mph
Shape: Teardrop shaped, with the point on the front and curve at the back.
Weapon 1: Front horizontal flywheel powered by 2 x 3120 Husqvarna chainsaws.
Strengths: Really strong armour and destructive weaponry.
Weaknesses: Poor pushing power.
Ground Clearance: 1mm at front, but 0mm elsewhere due to hinged skirts
Srimech: Invertible
Notes: The robot is powered by 2 S28-300 MagMotors running at 24v. This gives roughly 18mph top speeds. The main weapon is a front horizontal flywheel, which is powered by 2 3120 Husqvarna chainsaws. The chainsaws are on a 4:1 reduction, which means the flywheel can spin at 2687.5RPM. The flywheel itself is modelled on Shell Shocks axe from Series 3 of Robot Wars, and weighs a total of 18.5kg. According to Team Cosmics Kinetic Energy Calculator, it can produce roughly 11kJ per hit. The skirts are made from light aerospace grade aluminium and are 3mm thick. This, combined with superb manoeuvrability and strong armouring, should make Dallas a hard bot to crack.
Name: Dervish \//
Weight: 100kg
Armour: 10mm Aluminium Boron Carbite, with 5mm Lexiguard inside that to protect electronics.
Speed: 18mph
Shape: Invertible cylinder, like Barberous
Weapon 1: Spinning body which spins upwards, so it can flip its opponents.
Strengths: Powerful weaponry and very manoeuvrable
Weaknesses: Exposed wheels.
Ground Clearance: 7mm all around
Srimech: Invertible
Notes: The robot is powered by 2 S28-150 MagMotors, giving the robot a top speed of 18mph. Both wheels are based around Stinger, but have Vulcalore trims to aid in traction. The spinning body is made from 10mm Aluminium Boron Carbite, with 5mm Lexiguard inside that. The spinning body has Carbon tipped blades and Grade 5 Titanium blades attached all over it, so it can destroy all matters of armour. The body itself is powered by 2 LEM 130s running at 36v. This means the drum spins at approx 2500RPM. This should be enough power to destroy a robot in a matter of seconds.
Name: Wheely Pure Evil 2 (Thanks to Aaron for flipper rams and armour)
Weight: 100kg
Armour: 6mm Aluminium Boron Carbite (slightly heavier than Aluminium, but harder than Tungsten)
Speed: 18mph
Shape: Low invertible wedge
Weapon 1: Top hinged flipper powered by a 80mm pneumatic ram, working at 1000psi fixed on top of the robot. At the bottom of the flipper there is a 5mm Grade 5 Titanium wedge extender, designed to get under any ground clearance.
Weapon 2: Top hinged flipper powered by an 80mm pneumatic ram, working at 1000psi fixed on the underside of the robot.
Strengths: Powerful weaponry and tough armour.
Weaknesses: Exposed wheels on top and limited CO2 on board.
Ground Clearance: 1cm at the back, 0mm on sides due to side skirts and 0mm at front due to flipping plate.
Srimech: Invertible.
Notes: The robot is powered by 2 S28-400 MagMotors running at 24v, which give 18mph top speed. The flippers are made from 4mm Aluminium Boron Carbite, and powered by 80mm pneumatic rams working at 1000psi due to Nitrogen. Each flipper can flip roughly 2500kg each. However, due to the flipper set up, the robot can flip roughly 5000kg! The robot has hinged side skirts, to stop robot getting underneath. The skirts are made from 3mm Aluminium Boron Carbite, and are hinged so they run upside down. The flippers can be fired at the same time, or independently.
Name: Sonic Boom
Weight: 100kg
Armour: 1cm thick Hardox wheel hubs, 5mm Hardox axe head and 5mm thick axe pole. The axle joining the 2 wheels is made from 6mm Titanium and Vanadium alloy.
Speed: 28mph.
Shape: The robot is an axlebot based around Stinger.
Weapon 1: A momentum powered axe, which can come down with 800kgs of force.
Strengths: Hard to grab hold off and very tough armour. Great manoeuvrability.
Weaknesses: Poor pushing power.
Ground Clearance: 10mm.
Srimech: The robot is invertible.
Notes: The robot is powered by 2 LEM 130s, giving 28mph top speeds. The wheels are made from aircraft grade Aluminium, with Hardox wheel hubs and thick rubber treads. All the electronics, batteries and wiring are hidden inside the wheels. The 1cm thick wheel hubs should mean that nothing can damage the innards of Sonic Boom. To save weight on the robot, the wheels are only 20cm high, but are also 20cm wide, increasing traction on the arena floor. The axe head is modelled on Stingers axe from series 4 of Robot Wars, but is a lot tougher due to the 50cm, 5mm Hardox axe pole and 5mm Hardox axe head. The axe is momentum powered, meaning that when the robot stops moving from a charge, the axe swings over head and hits what ever is in front of it. This method of weaponry is not accurate most of the time, but when it does hit, it can cause a lot of damage. The 10mm ground clearance all over the robot should stop it getting stuck on arena obstacles.
Name: Supreme Glory Gamma (Replacing Supreme Glory Beta)
Weight: 100kg
Armour: 20mm Lexan and LexiGuard compound
Speed: 8mph
Shape: Pyramid shaped
Weapon 1: An 11kg Aluminium alloy axe powered by a 60v Etek, capable of generating 3Kj of force per hit.
Strengths: Strong armour and very manoeuvrable.
Weaknesses: Axe only works if something is in front or behind the robot.
Ground Clearance: 0mm all around due to skirts.
Srimech: The axe self rights the robot.
Notes: The robot is powered by 2 x 800watt 36v DC motors giving 8mph top speed. The 2 wheels are made from Ti/V alloy and coated in Vulcalore to aid in traction. The robot is covered in 25mm Lexan and LexiGuard compound. The axe weighs a total of 11kg and is shaped like Excaliburs axe from series 3 of Robot Wars. This shape is designed to focus all the force on a single point, meaning it can pierce through armour easily. The axe can give 3Kj of force per hit, roughly the same as Beta. The tips of the axe are covered in a thin layer of carbon, so if it fights a robot with Titanium armour, it can get through the armour even easier. To stop the robot from hopping about when the axe is fired, the robot incorporates a vacuum system. This can be switched on and off during a battle to allow for manoeuvrability and superior traction when static. The skirts on SGG are made from Grade 5 Titanium and are held in place by hinges.
Name: Squish
Weight: 100kg
Armour: 6mm Grade 5 Titanium
Speed: 20mph
Shape: Low wedge
Weapon 1: A very powerful hydraulic crusher, with 14 tonnes of pressure at the tip.
Strengths: Very powerful crusher and strong armour. Good pushing power and good speed.
Weaknesses: Slow srimech.
Ground Clearance: 0mm at front due to wrinkler device. 5mm at sides and 1cm at back.
Srimech: It uses a set of Razer style wings.
Notes: The robot is powered by 2 LEM130 Lynch motors running at 36v, giving 20mph top speed and pushing power equivalent to 18HP. The robot has 6 inner Vulcalore wheels, which give tremendous traction. The crusher itself is made from 4mm Hardox, with 300 weight reducing holes. It is powered by an M-Mac M40 Hydraulic Actuator running at 12v, which can give 14 tonnes of pressure. The actuator has already been used in Robotic Combat, so this robot is realistic. The tip of the crusher is coated in carbon, so it can rip through Titanium easily.
Real Robot: X-Terminator Series 7.
Squish is replacing Elevation, and nothing will replace Facelift.

Martyns Robot Wars Series 5
Im in on this one
My real robot is Hells Teeth, from RWE 2: New Blood
my other robots:
Flaming Hell
Weight: 100kg
Dimensions: 90x90x60 cm
Weapon: a triangular spinning cage with 3 sharpened bot openers on each end, weighing 5kg each, spinning at 3000 RPM, powered by a Lemco on 36v
Power: 2x Bosch 750 motors at 24v (its been made so that the cage motor gets 36v but the drive only gets 24, as the drive is ok as it is on 24V)
Shape: circular base with triangular cage atop
Speed: 15mph
Drive power: 4bph
Notes: small electric actuators in the rotor arms in order to self right. They have been shock proofed so that the weapon impact will not bust them, and the cage spins 2mm from the ground. Small bearings for the cage and the far set apart wheels give it increased stability for a FBS
Turning Circle: 0cm
Armour: 3mm titanium
Wheel Type - 4 small wheelbarrow type wheels (no need for great traction)
Strengths: Power of cage
Weakness: Unpredictable bounce off from an opponent
Hell Machine
Weight: 100kg
Dimensions: 140x100x60 cm
Weapons: Lemco motor powered axe (run through gear box) that can deliver an axe blow of 3 tons (according to my calculations) and rear linier actuator operated lifting arm that can flip 600kg
Srimech: Side arms and rear arm
Speed: 15mph
Transmission: a 4 wheeled Tornado set up(36v and same gearing), but with a pair of Mag C40€™s in place of the Bosch motors, and a set of NiMh in place of the heavy Lead Acids the real thing uses.
Turning Circle: 0m
Ground clearance: 0 at the scoop and wedge edge, 2mm the rest of the way around
Wheel Type: Go-kart
Body Shape: scoop fronted, wedged back
Armour: 8mm Grade 5 Titanium and 2mm stainless steel
Colour: Black with flame face on scoop and name in blood writing on side, devil head on rear wedge
Strengths: Enormous pushing power (About 12hp), EXTREMELY powerful axe, relentless in attacking (until a robot is immobile)
Weakness: Dislikes spinners, doesnt like weapons that use carbon
Name: Sheer Hell
Weight: 100kg
Dimensions: 150cm x 80cm x 120cm
Shape: low angled box with disc on the front like 13 black and rear 259 disc, style
Weapons: A front mounted Horizontal spinning disc and a rear mounted vertical spinning disc, both running at 4500rpm and delivering a blow of 75kj
Top Speed: 13 mph
Transmission: 4 Rubbertex coated aluminium wheels (Rubbertex is a grippy rubber substance used on the K*bot tables) run on a Smidsy type wheel system, and run by a pair of Bosch 750€™s and a bank of Ni-cads to give me more weight for armour
Armour: 8mm Titanium
GC: 3mm either side and back, 7mm under the disc at the front, variable at the sides of the disc
Srimech: powerful electric arms mounted on the top
Turning Circle: 0cm
Colour: Black, with Sheer Hell written on wither side in Blood writing
Strengths: devastating weapons
Weakness: carbon based weapons
Notes: will NEVER turn the vertical flywheel into an opponent as it will throw SH over. Also, counter-acting discs (vertical and horizontal) will keep it stable, and if it is flipped, it does a funny jig in the air before coming down, most of the time, right way up
Name: Flipping Hell
Dimensions: 120cm x 80cm x 40cm
Weight: 100kg
Shape: steep wedge front, elongated wedged tail (not used as a weapon)
Weapon: 1000psi 2 pivot pneumatic flipper that can generate enough momentum and force to throw a 100kg robot 25ft up and 20ft across

Transmission: just like Razer€™s
GC: 0 at the front, 2mm down the side, 4mm at the back end
Turning Circle: 0cm
Armour: 6mm aluminium and steel alloy
Colour: black with a face made of fire on the front wedge face
Strengths: Can win with one weapon shot
Weakness: None
Notes: 4 wheels, the rear two of which are Razer type, so the flipper is always facing its opponent, Motors and gas bottles/piping bolted down especially, since that was knocked it out of the last tournement
Name: Jaws of Hell
Weight: 100kg
Dimensions (LWH): 130 x 100 x 25 cm
Body shape: Tornado shaped, but with 6 wheels
Weapons: a hydraulic tearer. The idea is that the large blade that is edged on both sides punctures the armour of an opponent, and a 3000psi hydraulic ram separates them, causing a huge tear in the armour. The edge is carbon tipped, so Titanium is not even there as far as Im concerned.
Power: a pair of LEM 130s on 36v running through a Storm 2 transmission (with 6 vulcalon wheels, with small screws in them for that little extra)
Armour: 4mm Hardox and 2mm stainless steel
Srimech: invertible
Speed: 27mph
Colour: Black, with a large red pentagram on the top
Strengths: vicious weapon
Weakness: Unique weapon, may be mis-understood
Name: Helliant
Weight:100kg
Dimensions: 100 x 100 x 35 cm
Shape: Low wedge, rounded back
Weapons: A 750 PSI pneumatic arm that is mainly for self righting but can be used as a weapon, and a set of 3 Kill Saws at the back. The Kill Saws four, 20 inch, carbide tipped, SystiMatic saw blades. The blades are powered by a 48 volt, 3.5 horse power motor and can shred titanium and many other things too.
GC: 0mm at the front, 1mm the rest of the way
Wheels: go-karts
Power: a pair of Bosch 750s on 36v, whereas the weapon is on 48v
Speed: 18mph
Armour: 2mm stainless steel and 4mm aluminium
Colour: black, with a flame graphic coming from the front and a demon head on it
Strengths: rip-roaring weapon
Weakness: iffy armour
Name: All Hell
Weight: 100kg
Dimensions: 100 x 100 x 50cm
Shape: Vortex, but without the motor sticking out the back
Weapons: A 27kg outer-rim weighted steel vertical flywheel, Powered by a B&S motor at 48v and run through a 40:1 ratio chain and sprocket transmission. The disc runs at 3500RPM but packs a 79Kj wallop (I worked it out, its not that disimaler from Matildas tail disc).
GC: 3mm all the way around
Wheels: 2 x Vulcanised Aluminium hubs
Power: a pair of Bosch 750 watts motors running on 36v (Like Flaming hell, wired so the drive gets less and the weapon gets more) running through a 10:1 ratio gearbox
Speed: 12MPH
Armour: 6mm Stainless Steel
Colour: Black, with pentagrams and demon faces painted in random places
Strengths: Devestating Weapon
Weakness: No srimech as such, but can run on the disc, which is then thrown into reverse which causes the robot to flip over, Stinger Style. tipped right way up

Cassius 2 (S3)
Typhoon 2 (S7)
Firestorm (latest version)
Phrizbee (BB5.0)
Name: Ze Newie
Motivation: Wheeled (x 4, 120mm diameter)
Speed: 16.02 KM/H (10.01 MPH)
Weight: 96.93kg maximum.
Height: 250mm down to 156mm.
Length: 956mm
Width: 790mm
Ground Clearance: 12mm at sides and rear, ~0 at front with the shovel.
Weapon: The €œweapon€ so to speak is a pneumatic Biohazard-style arm. It€™s powered by two 100mm bore, 140mm stroke rams at 150psi, giving enough force to throw other bots over with ease. However, its purpose is more to self-right the robot than anything (35 flips, mainly conserved for that purpose), as the main weapon is in the indestructible nature of the robot and the power of the drivetrain.
Drive: The drive is a pair of Perm PMG-132 motors at 36V (or 48V if the competition allows, kicking the speed up about 5-odd KM/H and increasing the torque likewise). They€™re geared down 4:1 onto a pair of 150mm hardox-hubbed wheels with Vulcanised rubber tires, and in the same gap chain-driven to the front pair of identical wheels (no geardown, of course). The torque & ramming power this thing has is incredible, especially with the traction.
Batteries: 6 x 24V 3Amp Battlepacks, giving 36V 12Ah. Another two can easily be added to give 48V 12Ah if the rules apply. All are shock-mounted to the chassis.
Chassis/Armour: The chassis acts as the armour in places; its solid (drilled) 30mm x 30mm Titanium/Vanadium Grade 5 alloy bars with holes drilled to keep weight down.
The armour varies in places; the wheel guards are 15mm Titanium/Vanadium alloy, the main body plates either side of the €˜weapon€™ are 20mm Ti/V and the back plate is 17.5mm Ti/V. The shovel, which almost acts as the front armour, is 20mm Hardox with the 15mm Ti/V front plates behind it.
Electronics: Runs a RoboWars.org BMC speed controller with Hitec Focus SS-3 75mhz PCM 3ch Radio and a 3-axis computer Gyro for maxium control and handling. Uses 150amp rated Anderson power pole connectors and locking pins. Electronics are shock mounted and mounting in a floating style encased in HD (High Density) foam.
Notes: The arm provides enough kinetic energy to overcome the inertia of the robot and flip it back over with ease and in a controlled fashion. The robot€™s driving ease cannot be overstated; half of the purpose the robot serves is to prove that ease of driving can outdo the most powerful, but uncontrollable, weapon. It corners like a dream on skid-steering and has brute force enough to outdo the pushiest of pushbots.
The other half of the purpose is to attempt to create an €˜immovable object€™ to match all the €˜irresistable forces€™ people are aiming at. Try breaking this one down; its impossible.
Weight:
Weapon arm = 3.67kg
Pneumatics system = 13.64kg
Wheels = 3.21kg
Gearboxes = 2.10kg
Batteries = 7.38kg
Armouring = 34.78kg
Weapon mounting and weapon drive components = 3.4kg
Electronics = 1.2kg
Drive motors = 22.55kg
NutsnBolts + Other pieces = 5kg max. Probably about 2.3.
Maximum weight: 96.93kg (allowing room for extra battery packs)
Name: Automatic Schmuck
Motivation: Wheeled (x 4, 120mm diameter main, 30mm €˜castor€™ front wheels)
Speed: 24.16KM/H (15.10 MPH)
Weight: 98.42kg
Height: 130mm at peak; variable from 28mm upwards.
Length: 870mm
Width: 743mm
Ground Clearance: 0 at sides w/ skirting, 0 at rear with €˜hinged€™ wedge, 0 at front with wedge; 12mm at the point nearest the back wheels otherwise, down to 5mm at the front wheels.
Weapon: 17.14kg kinetic-energy bar. 13.10kg, 111.2cm long bar, 2 2.02kg hardox weights (one at each end). It€™s powered by a C40-300 on a separate power supply at 24V, which when geared down 2.4:1 gives me a safe 1700RPM (spin-up = less than 0.5 seconds), and a heck of a lot of KE to transfer at the tips. The weapon system is held securely in place on steel box-section supports parallel to the wedged top of the robot, minimizing shock output to the rest of the robot.
Drive: 4 S28-300 3€ MagMotors, 2 on each rear wheel, on 24V. This gives me easily 10HP and a lot fo torque despite the healthy speed.
Batteries: 2 x 24V 3Ah Battlepacks (drive), 2 x 12V 3Ah Battlepacks (weapon). They are all shock-mounted, and slot together due to the unique curving on the outside of Battlepacks, allowing secure holding.
Chassis/Armour:
Chassis: 30 x 30 x 4mm Ti/V box section.
Armour: 13mm Ti/V all round. The skirting is 9mm Hardox plating, as they are all very small, and the two wedges are made from 6mm Hardox plating.
Notes: Spinning upside down, paired with the wedged style of the bot, allows a very quick & easy form of self-righting. Designed to knock the shit through some more superbots, for old times€™ sake.
Weight:
Weapon arm = 17.14kg
Wheels = 2.21kg
Gearboxes = 4.20kg
Batteries = 7.38kg
Armouring = 29.86kg
Weapon mounting and weapon drive components = 9.14kg
Weapon motor = 5.04kg
Electronics = 1.2kg
Drive motors & mounts= 12.25kg
NutsnBolts + Other pieces = 10kg max. Probably about 6.4.
Maximum weight: 98.42kg
SURROUND SOUND IS A CLUSTERBOT. THE NEXT TWO STATS APPLY.
Amp Of Doom!
Motivation: Wheeled (x 4, 100mm diameter main, 30mm castors)
Speed: 16.20 km/h (10.125MPH)
Weight: 37kg maximum.
Height: 150mm, 190mm with control panel.
Length: 190mm
Width: 370mm
Ground Clearance: 8mm at front, sides and rear. 2kg of ballast and most of the components close to the floor makes it very, very hard to flip though.
Weapon: Drivetrain. It does have an active srimech behind the control panel powered by a third S28-400 on 24V. This rights it quickly & easily.
Drive: 2 x S28-400s on 24V geared down 7:1 onto 100mm custom-built vulcanized-rubber wheels on titanium hubs.
Batteries: 4 x 12V 3Ah Battlepacks.
Chassis/Armour: 10mm Grade 5 Ti/V alloy monocoque with steel corner protectors. It also has a 5mm Titanium grille on the front, made from many small straight pieces of 5mm Grade 5 to tangle and deflect spinners. It also has 6mm polycarbonate covering all surfaces, and 2kg of ballast on the floor to increase the difficulty of uprighting it.
Electronics: Runs a RoboWars.org IBC speed controller with Hitec Focus SS-3 75mhz PCM 3ch Radio and a 3-axis computer Gyro for maxium control and handling.
This thing has ultimate driving ease, is impossible to break down in any way and has great pushing power, especially at this level.
The Cabinet
Motivation: Wheeled (x 4, 100mm diameter main, 30mm castors)
Speed: 16.20 km/h (10.125MPH)
Weight: 62kg maximum.
Height: 150mm, 190mm with control panel.*
Length: 190mm*
Width: 370mm*
(dimensions not including cabinet in front, which is 190 x 520 x 400)
Ground Clearance: 8mm at front, sides and rear. 2kg of ballast and most of the components close to the floor makes it very, very hard to flip though.
Weapon: 1.5kW running through four 12€ Celestion speakers inside the cabinet, enough to easily blow a super-heavyweight backwards on kinetic energy alone. It operates at 17Hz (below human hearing range) at roughly 160dB, 10000 times the threshold of pain!
Electronics: Runs a RoboWars.org IBC speed controller with Hitec Focus SS-3 75mhz PCM 3ch Radio and a 3-axis computer Gyro for maxium control and handling.
This thing has ultimate driving ease, is impossible to break down in any way and has great pushing power, especially at this level. It selfrights via either the speakers or a ram at the back of the cabinet, there are small round pieces on the small sides of the cabinet to stop it landing on them.

Martyns Robot Wars Series 5
Tom, is this the version of AKA IDIOT you want?
Team Name: Team SpunOut
City/Town/Suburb Representing: the Eastern End of Morphett Crescent, Perth, Australia XD
Robot Name: a.k.a. I-D-I-O-T
Length/Width/Height: 800mm diameter, 265mm height at center 400mm, sloping down to 100mm at outer circumference.
Weight: maximum 100KG. Should realistically be a few under.
Motivation: 4 120mm diameter titanium custom-made omniwheels, 2mm rubber tyres on each omniwheel tread.
Speed: 6.68KM/H (4.175MPH)
Weapon: Shell-spinner, powered by a 100cc KT 2-Stroke Go-Kart motor at roughly 4:1 on a fuel supply. The shell weighs 28.2KG and has 4 1KG tool-steel €˜claws€™ on it at a height of 5cm from the bottom of the shell to still catch all the low bots without threatening the arena. It spins at a controlled 3200RPM with a VERY short spinup time.
Drive: 4 AstroFlight C90s on 24V, each geared down 10:1 to give 900RPM output.
Power: 4 24V 3Ah Battlepacks, 2 litres of fuel & a 5th C90 as a starter motor for the YZ.
Armour: It has a drilled titanium/vanadium 2cm x 2cm bar chassis in the cone shape, and the shell itself is made of 6mm Hardox with various reinforcements of 10mm Titanium/Vanadium.
Ground Clearance: 1cm
Turning Circle: 0. Obviously.
Notes: Rights itself via a pole in the middle of the flat top, which pokes out in four directions to right it on any side. Can travel in any direction at any time, and can outpush a lot of bots. Speed is no worry due to the INSANE shell-spinner firstly, and the torque secondly. I can comfortably push others when I run out of weapon power, and I have the batteries to very, very comfortably go the distance.

Martyns Robot Wars Series 5
With all respect Dave, if you dont have much time and you have 37.5% of your bots not even started, why not replace them with real robots like I did?
I tried that recently with Pistola, but couldnt get around to it. And it held the tournament in question up. So I withdrew it, and thats why I have 3 or 4 real robots- I have the vapourbots to fill the spots, but they arent anywhere near ready.

Martyns Robot Wars Series 5
or do it like me and just have ample robots all the time, so I get a nice selection to chose from without having to resort to reality. *shudders at thought*

1 - What the Feck
2 - The Circle Revisted (Replacing TSC)
3 - Son of Whyachi (Season 3)
4 - PCC - D&P
5 - Push-Ish Fundamental
6 - Anti - Not Yet Started (Doing at weekend)
7 - Jihad
8 - Disc-o-inferno - Series 7.
Jihad:Robots name - Jihad
Mass - At start of fight 205 kg, at end of fight 201 kg (uses 4 kg of petrol and within 1% rule)
Weapons - The main weapon is the 20 kg spinning shell, with 10 kg being on the rim. The claws are fitted to the shell, 6 claws at various heights. The shell is powered from the top via a gearbox connected to a 500 cc rotary engine, weighing 40 kg, with twin turbo chargers. The engine can be found on off-road go-karts. The rotor-runners are designed for power. Facts for the engine are that it produces ~ 92 horsepower at 6000 rpm, with 124 Nm of torque.
The gearbox has 3 forward gears and 3 reverse gears, the gears are matched up so that it has €œreversal gears€Â, first gear gets the cage up-to 6000 rpm within 2.3 seconds, the shell is electrical limited to 6000 rpm for the best power. Then it changes into a gear with more torque allowing for more damage. The shell spins back to 5000 rpm. The centre of mass of the shell is on the radius line of 0.8 metres, the shell itself has radius 1.01 metres. Kinetic Energy ~ 100 KJ.
There is a starter motor, which is a 12 volt, 1 horsepower DC piece of kit; it starts the engine up on 1 turn. The gearbox next to the engine will hopefully stop the engine from stalling on impact, but you need something to fall back onto.
Can it self-right? - It uses the theory of centre of mass to self-right, meaning that if it is flipped onto its shell, the mass of the engine will pull it around.
Velocity - 3 mph€¦ who needs to move when you have a weapon.
Turning Circle - 0.1 metres
Ground clearance - Underneath main body is 1.3 cm, underneath the skirts it€™s zero.
Skirts - Simple skirts sprung to be held in under force are around the outside of the main robot, but underneath the shell.
Wheel Type - A simple Cheeky Boy style walker, with 8 legs, if Alex is allowed it, I should be.
Motors - Two standard wheelchair motors, at 12 volts power the legs to move.
Body Shape - The robot is Hexadecagon shaped (16 sides), curved at the top to self-right, with a large pole on top, covering the power-link and to show direction (like Typhoon 2€™s flag). The top is a pyramid to aid self-righting.
Armour - To cope with the power from the engine, the chassis/armour/supporting beams in total weigh 74 kg; these include triangles to support the mass, a special double layer base for the engine that is held into place with tensioned steel beams. The fuel tanks can be removed by removing 6 special bolts; the tanks hold 4 kg of petrol, which should give the engine power (it drinks petrol like the one it has gone out of business). The chassis can cope with the power from the flywheel at 6000 rpm and survive the hits by the almightily MDU. The top pyramid is 4mm Hardox 600 and steel beams support it. The side armour above the flywheel is only 2mm aluminium to save weight; this is designed to be ripped off, and gives no strength to the robot at all.
Safety Features - The power link is underneath a sliding door, right at the top, underneath the direction flag. Just pull the flag backwards and open the strong slider, if the flag is ripped off doing self-righting, the door can be opened by hand.
The fuel tanks are racing spec, so that fire will not cause them to burst.
Colour: Same as WOSS
Summary - Not the nicest robot to meet in a dark place. Took me 15 minutes to put together with about 3 hours of research.
Strengths - Spinner, strong, re-stands all punishment.
Weaknesses - Slow (to allow it to move at top speed), virtually no traction
-
