The Annihilators
The Annihilators
Yep its time for a mini tourney, its pretty basic I need 3 robots from 6 people that will go into mayhems to qualify for a place in one of the annihilators if you go out of the mayhem first then you will go into the 18th-13th place annihilator if you go out second then its 12th-7th and if you win the mayhem 6th-1st.
Rules are
Each person enters 3 robots, one of which must be a real robot, one of which must be a vapour the other one is up to you it can be real or vapour.
The weight limits are as follows
100kg for a roller (tracked or wheeled)
125kg for robots that use screws
150kg for shuffle bots
200kg for €˜true€™ walkers (eg anarchy)
Flying robots are not permitted
Robots are allowed to be purely static
Clusterbots are permitted 100% has to be out for the cluster to go out, there is a maximum of 3 parts allowed
Try and include the basic minimum in the stats
For the rest basic robot wars rules apply
So get entering
-
The Annihilators

The Annihilators
SO NOT FUNNY what i mean is that your aloud purely static weapons such as the extreme 2 version of storm 2.
Each person enters 3 robots, one of which must be a real robot

The Annihilators
Sorry Martyn, didnt see that.
In that case, replace Vampire Killer with Spawn Again.

The Annihilators
Hmm...
...pie
Give me Storm 2.
My vapourbot will be Disco 5 :proud: (Nowhere in the rules said it had to be your vapourbot :proud:)
and Seggy

The Annihilators
aka IDIOT, Automatic Schmuck, Typhoon 2.
Team Name: Team SpunOut
City/Town/Suburb Representing: the Eastern End of Morphett Crescent, Perth, Australia XD
Robot Name: a.k.a. I-D-I-O-T
Length/Width/Height: 800mm diameter, 265mm height at center 400mm, sloping down to 100mm at outer circumference.
Weight: maximum 100KG. Should realistically be a few under.
Motivation: 4 120mm diameter titanium custom-made omniwheels, 2mm rubber tyres on each omniwheel tread.
Speed: 3.34KM/H (2.0875MPH)
Weapon: Shell-spinner, powered by a single PERM motor at roughly 2:1 on a separate 36V supply. The shell weighs 28.2KG and has 4 1KG tool-steel €˜claws€™ on it at a height of 5cm from the bottom of the shell to still catch all the low bots without threatening the arena. It spins at a controlled 1700RPM.
Drive: 4 AstroFlight C90s on 24V, each geared down 30:1 to give 300RPM output.
Power: 4 24V 3Ah Battlepacks, 6 12V 3Ah Battlepacks giving 24V 12Ah for the drive and 36V 6Ah for the weapon.
Armour: It has a drilled titanium/vanadium 12cm x 2cm bar chassis in the cone shape, and the shell itself is made of 6mm Hardox with various reinforcements of 10mm Titanium/Vanadium.
Ground Clearance: 1cm
Turning Circle: 0. Obviously.
Notes: Rights itself via a pole in the middle of the flat top, which pokes out in four directions to right it on any side. Can travel in any direction at any time, and can outpush a lot of bots. Speed is no worry due to the shell-spinner firstly, and the huge torque secondly. I can comfortably push others when I run out of weapon power, and I have the batteries to very, very comfortably go the distance.
Name: Automatic Schmuck
Motivation: Wheeled (x 4, 120mm diameter main, 30mm €˜castor€™ front wheels)
Speed: 24.16KM/H (15.10 MPH)
Weight: 98.42kg
Height: 130mm at peak; variable from 28mm upwards.
Length: 870mm
Width: 743mm
Ground Clearance: 0 at sides w/ skirting, 0 at rear with €˜hinged€™ wedge, 0 at front with wedge; 12mm at the point nearest the back wheels otherwise, down to 5mm at the front wheels.
Weapon: 17.14kg kinetic-energy bar. 13.10kg, 111.2cm long bar, 2 2.02kg hardox weights (one at each end). It€™s powered by a C40-300 on a separate power supply at 24V, which when geared down 2.4:1 gives me a safe 1700RPM (spin-up = less than 0.5 seconds), and a heck of a lot of KE to transfer at the tips. The weapon system is held securely in place on steel box-section supports parallel to the wedged top of the robot, minimizing shock output to the rest of the robot.
Drive: 4 S28-300 3€ MagMotors, 2 on each rear wheel, on 24V. This gives me easily 10HP and a lot fo torque despite the healthy speed.
Batteries: 2 x 24V 3Ah Battlepacks (drive), 2 x 12V 3Ah Battlepacks (weapon). They are all shock-mounted, and slot together due to the unique curving on the outside of Battlepacks, allowing secure holding.
Chassis/Armour:
Chassis: 30 x 30 x 4mm Ti/V box section.
Armour: 13mm Ti/V all round. The skirting is 9mm Hardox plating, as they are all very small, and the two wedges are made from 6mm Hardox plating.
Electronics: Runs a RoboWars.org BMC speed controller with Hitec Focus SS-3 75mhz PCM 3ch Radio and a 3-axis computer Gyro for maxium control and handling. Uses 150amp rated Anderson power pole connectors and locking pins. Electronics are shock mounted and mounting in a floating style encased in HD (High Density) foam.
Notes: Spinning upside down, paired with the wedged style of the bot, allows a very quick & easy form of self-righting. Designed to knock the shit through some more superbots, for old times€™ sake.

The Annihilators
I will enter X Terminator (S7), MORD2 and Tenderizers Revenge 2.
M.O.R.D2
Weight: 110kg
Shape: Box, with sides that slant outwards from the top and bottom edges to form triangles, like Tornados rear (hopefully this will lower the effectiveness of spinners)
Dimensions: 90 x 32 x 35
Speed: 20mph
Ground Clearance: 0 at front due to plow, 0 at sides and rear due to skirts, which are fixed to the points of the triangles and can work either way up
Armour: Body is 6mm titanium; scoop is 4mm titanium; skirts are 3mm titanium
Movement: Camshafts like Drillzilla
Power: 36V battery and motors
Weapons: At the front is an electrically powered scoop which operates through 180 degrees, so it can work when the robot is inverted. Behind the scoop is a 20kg spinning drum with 8 titanium teeth on it, spinning at 2000rpm and hopefully able to flip robots as well as damage them. The drum comes into play if the scoop is lifted.
Srimech: Invertable; triangles at sides and rear prevent it resting there
Tactics: Shove opponents with the scoop; then lift the scoop and attack with the drum
Strengths: Fast; good traction; powerful drum
Weaknesses: Less manouverable than wheeled robots
TENDERIZERS REVENGE 2
Weight: 97kg
Shape: Low invertable box with low wedge at the front and inverted wedge at the back - painted blue with its name painted to look like blood on the skirts
Dimensions: 90 x 90 x 20
Speed: 15mph
Ground Clearance: 0 all around due to low wedge and skirts, 2mm behind side skirts, 20cm behind skirt on inverted wedge. Both wedges have skirts attached to them at their edge. The wedge and side skirts are attached to rotatable cylinders inside the robot (or wedge) so they can be moved up and down. When they are down, they are very low and its hard to get underneath, but the robots speed is reduced to 9mph. The side skirts can go up to a point where they work inverted. The skirts on the wedges move within 90 degrees - when their wedge is inverted, they are in a vertical position to repel flippers, and when their wedge is right way up, they are in a horizontal position, riding along the ground to help get under robots. When the robot is moving around normally, all skirts except the front wedge one are pulled down low but not to maximum lowness so it can move quickly - the skirts go to maximum lowness if a flipper comes anywhere near it.
Armour: Main body has 5mm polycarbonate on top of 5mm titanium, skirts are 4mm titanium, wedges are 5mm hardox
Wheels: 4, inside robot
Power: 36V battery and motors
Weapon: An electrically powered lifting arm, which runs along half of the top of the robot - its tip is pointed to help hold onto robots, and is at the point where the wedge meets the body, and it does not go down the wedge. It can rotate through 360 degrees so it can be used when the robot is inverted.
Srimech: Invertable - arm will act as srimech, but this will hardly happen as the robot works identically both ways up. Moveable skirts prevent it from resting on its sides.
Tactics: Run into opponents, try to get under them, then get them onto its top and onto the arm. The arm turns them over, or catches them so I can carry them around.
Strengths: Decent pushing power; moveable skirts; difficult to attack by flippers
Weaknesses: May struggle to use arm against some opponents

The Annihilators
Ah, damnit, Tom entered automatic shmuck, watch this be a remake of NSTT if its in the same heat as Shovearound 2 :P

-
The Annihilators
Nothing has changed with Seggy 3 except its name, which means the basic stats for it are about 18 months old. Old school, I will replace it, but what is the point?
-
The Annihilators
So its time for the draw
Mechavore V Beta V Storm 2
Spawn again V automatic schmuck V disconstructor
Hurricane Hugo V Tails V typhoon 2
Aka IDIOT V Tenderizers Revenge 2 V Blizzard
Wedge Devolution V MORD2 V Steggy
Shove around 2 V X Terminator V Sorrow
tactics?, predictions?, pie?
-
The Annihilators
I want pie
and you spelt seggy wrong
-
The Annihilators
Hurricane Hugo V Tails V typhoon 2
Go for tails. Hopefully I can tear him up before he tries to pit me. AFter that, till be a spinner vs spinner match, and I most likley have the stonger spinner. So hopefully it can rip up Typhoon before typhoon rips me up.
Spawn again V automatic schmuck V disconstructor
Dave and I are teaming up on this. Once hes broken Shmucks weapon, ill flip him, and then pit him. Then after that, ill try to get Disconstructer OOTA.
Shove around 2 V X Terminator V Sorrow
Being unable to find Stats of sorrow, and im not sure what Series 7 X-Terminator is, just avoid their weapons and pit them both.
-
The Annihilators
TR2 will run straight into Aka Idiot, try to stop his spinner and shove him down the pit. If I fail, I will go for Blizzard, shove, lift and pit him, then try Aka Idiot.
MORD2 will use its scoop to shove Wedge Devolution around, and eventually pit him, then be aggressive to Seggy, using my drum and scoop.
X Terminator will try to hit Sorrow on the side and knock him around - if he causes damage, I will focus on Shovearound 2.
-
The Annihilators
The difference between Daves jokes and mine, is at least I use something for material thats actually there :P
-
The Annihilators
MECHAVORE: Stars and stripes forever! :proud: Here, stick to Betas sides and simply see if I can rip into the innards. Failing that, shove around with rear end and Pit. Repeat for Storm.
TAILS: go straight for Typhoon first n flip. Then ram the inverted RW champ into Hugo to try and stop the spinning or knock it off-balance. Once static, dash in with the blade and rip the weak armouring to pieces :proud:
WEDGE DEVOLUTION Keep to MORDs sides, penetrate the hinged skirts and eject from the Warzone or Pit. Repeat for Seggy
-
The Annihilators
For those who dont know, aka IDIOT is at full speed in 0.3 seconds. Unless you have the mother of all boxrushers (50+MPH), theres no way youll get to it before its at the full 1700RPM; at that speed, its KO-quality hits. One hit and youre gone.
As such, Ill be waiting for someone to have a go at it, and the same with Typhoon.
I dont expect to go anywhere due to my coincidental lack of luck in Martyns tournaments, with SpinVerter at its most effective unable to win a single fight (mainly through being somehow pushed down the pit :P). So to hell with it, Im ready for whoever wants some!
-
The Annihilators
so coming 4th and 6th in one series is bad luck tom?
-
The Annihilators
Come on, Tom, be optimistic!
-
The Annihilators
Segs tactics
I will use the vertical drum weapon, and at the start allow for the other two robots to play with each other before storming in with my middle-of-the-road speed but top acceleration to get around the sides and flip the robots around with the drum, so that I can push them sideways into the hazards/pit. Repeat with the other robot.
Storms tactics
Ram at Mechavore, get under the side using my extra speed and power and lift onto its back :). Ram at the sides of Beta, and push into pit.
Disconstuctors tactics
Me and Tony are ganging up, as I will drive, the disc at full speed into his machine, which will hopefully knock out its weapon and prob the weapon on disconstuctor. Once thats done, keep away from shovearound and automatic schmuck as they play with each other, but in the background come into play and hit the sides
-
The Annihilators
Typo in Disconstuctors tactics:
Disconstuctors tactics
Me and Tony are ganging up, as I will drive, the disc at full speed into Toms machine, which will hopefully knock out its weapon and prob the weapon on disconstuctor. Once thats done, keep away from shovearound and automatic schmuck as they play with each other, but in the background come into play and hit the sides
-
The Annihilators
Actually Dave, theres still a typo. Shovearound 2 isnt in that heat :P
-
The Annihilators
*Throws a potato at Toni (hehehe)*
-
The Annihilators
Up yours! You should know its a Y by now!
[Yes, i know its a joke, but I cant find the code for the rofl smiley]
-
The Annihilators
You mean this one:  :proud:
-
The Annihilators
Mechavore V Beta V Storm 2
Poo
Go for whomever has the more fragile looking components
Aka IDIOT V Tenderizers Revenge 2 V Blizzard
Poo
Blizzard may not have great speed or weapons power, however what it does have is massive traction and a design which can take considerable punishment. Therefore that still doesnt help me much so Ill just go to whomever looks liek they are mroe likely to lose.
Shove around 2 V X Terminator V Sorrow
Poo
Hit into them with the disc.
-
The Annihilators
Think about it. 13kg in 1 metre x 10cm wide = almost 3cm thick Titanium. How on earth youre going to rupture a fully shock-suspended 3cm thick titanium bar spinner by running into it with a disc is beyond me. All youll do is ruin your OWN one, as any and all shock taken by the bar wont do much to it. YOUR weapon, however, is of a considerably thinner substance due to it being a disc rather than a bar, so its much more likely to shatter or be disabled on impact.
Add that to my 1 second spinup time, and if you try that, youre screwed.
-
The Annihilators
Tom, can you prove that you can get your spinner upto speed in under a second?
-
The Annihilators
As a matter of fact he can, look at how he trashed shovearound 2, id expect you of all people to know that dave, seeing as how YOU wrote that fight
-
The Annihilators
I can, its very simple when you look at the physics. A decent amount of geardown on a large, straight object spins it up very quickly...
-
The Annihilators
*pokes tourny with stick*
-
The Annihilators
Sorry having some problems but i will start the tourny 2moro
-
The Annihilators
Didnt this tourny start a few weeks ago?
Sorry for being impatient...I dont mean to.
