Roaming Robots Aug 14/15th Gloucester Heritage Weekend.

One last additional date for your diary for 2004.

August 14th / 15th Gloucester Heritage Weekend.

This should be the last chance to test your machine before the big World Champs, and is being billed as this to all roboteers.

The organiser is full aware of the situation, being so close, it will be a case of wait and see, as to what exactly we can provide, and who turns up.

Pay to drive will be running throughout in addition to what ever else.

The arena will be there for two days, and is a great opportunity for a nice relaxed weekend full of playing robots, and socialising with the pressure off to perform as much.

This should be very similar to the Macclesfield event we held last year where we had small demonstrations and a few fights in between just before series 7, which highlighted a lot of problems for some of the new robots.

gghw was my first event. ill i can remeber was lots of pissed roboteers and ed driving round on storm and freezing his beer with co2.
ill def be there hopfully with my feather this time.

Weve been there for the last two years - wont miss this one - count us lot in (merlin, blazer, g3 ,alpha.

So sorry chaps, Im gonna have to leave this event a) because my aluminium chassis aint come yet an b) because you have yet to release an exact location, I cannot get a lift, but as the yeovil event has released its location, Im off to there instead.

Deepest apologies, but I guess a lesson has been learned that locations need to be made clear asap, and not 24hours or less before an event.

Guys, its where the GGHW has always been, just outside Stonehouse off J13 of the M5. Its usually well signposted (has been last 2 years once you get off the M-Way). You can see the site as you approach the junction if I remember rightly.

Im guessing Jonnos not got around to putting the information on the RR site, and I think most people who are going have been before.

when we went bristol there was a sign, in the field advertising it.

I seem to remember that you can not leave the M5 on J13 - unless that has now changed.

bit of a wet one today! got to test the new merlins drive system, worked fine up to the point when it started to smoke :sad: new G3 went ok (seeing as it was only held together by gaffa tape).

It wasnt wet on Saturday if you had been there Alan. We all got a sun tan!

First event I have been at with more roboteers than crowd. But well done to the RR Crew for giving us all a chance to test our bots before the world champs. But stick to running events because Saturday nights karaoke nearly cleared the campsite! Go Ang! Go Ang!

It was about time i got it working right, and thanks for a tiny bit of welding from jonno and steve for the front scoop, its quite new and something differient on a box. Yay go me. LOL!!!

Great day, was a bit wet on Sunday, but Saturday was hot and better (Apart from me being in a huff when KR2 wasnt working). But made up for it with a great Saturday night out in the beer tent and a working robot on sunday.

I do seem to have caught the roboteering bug now.
