Wow, the Raging Knightmare team are such sore losers.
Now thats very unfair. and its not a very nice thing to say. I dont agree.
Considering Frank is unable to give us his usual review, Ill do one (not wooty though);
BATTLE 1
The position with Flippa stuck and Ewe perched on the arena wall was interesting...I half-expected the Refbot to nudge Ewe OOTA, but then of course Robochickens flipper failed and it got counted out.
HOUSE ROBOT REBELLION
Growler got flipped, Cassius Chrome got flipped into the pit by Gravity but somehow got free, Mr Psycho attacked Gravity, which stopped moving. Behemoth hit Mr Psycho, eventually its axe broke off, crowd decision gave it to the competitors.
BATTLE 2
Flippa never made it in. Another interesting situation, Raging Knightmare perched over the pit (and in my opinion, in), but Ewe 2 stuck on its side...Ewe went out eventually.
BATTLE 3
Once again, the three-robot stage sees two others ganging up on the weaker one...Raging Knightmare, flipped everywhere, and got into the same position as before. A hilarious moment, seeing Knightmare stuck over the pit and Kan-Opener stuck in mid-air. Eventually Knightmare went in.
FINAL
A few flips, and Ripper decided that it would give itself limited movement. Eventually it stopped moving altogether, and Refbot counted it out. Kan-Opener caught fire at end.
Ill write a wootyer review later :)
And Ill be going to the Panic Attack forum.
At one point in the first battle, only Ripper and Kan Opener were mobile, the other bots either perched on the sidewall or broken down completely.
Craig taking the mickey out of the oh-so-serious Knightmare team (So youre better engineers... and youre better looking!) was classic.
Ripper, as always, great entertainment. And well done to Kan Opener for winning.
You could sense that he was taking the pi$$. It was very amusing I must say.
Sorry but that annihilator was quite boring tbh. The two very first annihilators were brilliant. I am talking about the North and South annihilators won by Spikeasaurus and Razer respectively. Funnily enough at the end of my recording of this programme was the old South annihilator from ages ago. I ended up watching that again it was much better.
Best bits: House Robot Rebellion
Worst bits: Ripper failing to win in the final. But well done, Kan Opener.
A bit of inside info for you guys.
The real reason Flippa never made it into the arena for the second round fight was that I pulled his ariel off while we were arming the robots backstage
I was lowering the flipper of EWE2 after gassing up, and his ariel was in the way. So I brushed it to one side to let my flipper down, and his ariel came off in my hand.
Bad soldering was to blame so he told me afterwards!
Ian
About the House robot Rebellion.
Growler got flipped, and Cassius flipped in to the pit. Now the pit was doiwn , but ascended , but Cassius was still on his side.A few sturdy nudges from Refbot, and he was free to do what he wanted.
The reason Gravity stopped was simple. The arial came of after a full hit from Psycho. So the failsafes on the speedos worked, but the one on the weapon, a lot less sensitve ,was still working.
Came of in my hand guv honest yeh right Ian :)
And it just goes to prove that Mentorn do their best to make the House Robot Rebellions fixed.
...Of course it didnt help when it went to an audience vote!
it was a ok show. GRAVITY WD nearly flipped physcho lol
Yes, but still;
- Floor flipper going off when robots drive across it
- The refbot helps out if a house robot is in trouble
- Pit is raised if HR is in it
Cassius Chrome isnt a bad house robot when its spining around, did you see how far it knocked Behemoth away!!
It was depressing to watch. There really wasnt much Behemoth could do. It just drove around bumping into things, its axe fell off after tickling Mr Psycho, and it lost all traction towards the end. Damn fairy liquid.
A brave fight nonetheless
what happened to Psycho at the end it looked like he had broken down.
The axehit in the backpanel did cause Psycho to stop completely.
Oh right.
Yup the house bots got their comuppence well and truly that time.
Wait till next weekend! :proud:
Mr Stu
Yep, the preview clip looks like theres going to be a lot of house robot attacking :)
Thought Psycho looked dead; well done Behemoth. It also looked, in the last round, as though Mr P was losing a track against the front of Ripper - can anyone comment? Not flipped this time, but he still didnt come out of it too well.
I thought it was about time someone got Growler over, too. :-) Nicely done, Gravity, and pity about the drive failure (and Behemoths traction issues).

That leaves Sir Killalot to flip over.
dont think there will be anymore houserobot flippin, with the end of the series and all...
Does this mean I hold the record for flipping the most (and the heaviest?) House robots ? :)
Shunt, Dead Metal, Growler and Cassius Chrome...
grin
Firestorm overturned Mr Psycho.
Not sure if it counts as a flip though.
Are we allowed to say that now?
Youre the first (AFAIK) with the rest other than Shunt; I *think* others have flipped more robots between their several appearances, but I could be wrong. Someones probably got the stats.
Would have been nice to see Gravity and WBC (if someone could have paid Roger enough to attend) do a rebellion - although Behemoth disabling Psycho was funny. If they couldnt get Psycho or Killalot between them Id be surprised, although it might have taken a bit of assistance from the house robot drivers. Weve still not seen a house robot OOTAd, either.
Am I right in saying that Killalot is now the only robot never to have been flipped (toppling forwards, from which it can recover, doesnt count)? Allowing for Storm/Supernova, all the house robots have been incapacitated in some way at least once.

Ill try and find who has flipped which HR and how many times, to see if indeed, WJ holds the record for most HRs flipped (not including the same ones in different series)

Well my dear, there IS a reason why it is called House Robot Rebellion...
Firestorm did NOT flip Mr Psycho.
Stop Spoiling!
yes he did, and ground hog pulled sir killalot over
NO, Firestorm DIDNT flip Psycho. Stop Spoiling!!!
he wedged under my physico so he tipped over I HAVE THE TAPE I SAW IT.
I know Sir K was pulled over by Ground Hog, but was he really so far over that he couldnt right himself by aggressive forward driving? Thats why I wasnt counting him as being flipped.
Christopher - sorry, it wasnt clear to me whether we were allowed to mention this yet (although at some point we might want to admit defeat, especially since spoilers on that topic are common); I was following Leos lead, and I *was* trying to be as oblique as possible given the topic. Contact the forum admin (with my apologies) - Leo, Martyn and I cant do anything about it now.

Dazzy, Martyn, I think youre missing Christophers point. You might not want to make more work for the forum admin until someone clarifies whether this cat is officially out of the bag.

im not the spoiler person here sorry but its something that needs clearing up
Nonetheless, if this is still considered to be a spoiler then the forum admin is going to have to delete all the messages which mention it. So it might be a good idea to drop the subject until someone official takes a stand. (Anyone?)

(Guilty, but trying not to make matters worse)
Yeah, but itll never be shown....so is it truely a spoiler, or just information that people are denying themselves for no reason?
The First World Championships were relased solely to video for about two years before they came on TV, did that stop people discussing them??
Just querying, dont mean anything by it!
Ahhh, Ill miss House Robot attacking though....whether its Panic Attacks long standing grudge with Shunt, or Firestorm envoking the spirit of Cassius by running around and attack any HB around....
*sigh*
Good times! :)
Paul - agreed, but although we can query the forum policy we probably shouldnt unilaterally change it until an administrator makes that decision. (Unless they have - I wasnt sure, hence my own leak.) Thatll teach WJ to ask leading questions!
As for the (first two) WCs - before my time on the fora, so I wouldnt know Im afraid!
Speaking of which, nothing seems to re-run season 1, and Ive only ever seen the final of season 2 re-run. I was kind of hoping the first great war video was still available, but it didnt seem to be on the RW site before it died.
Actually, Amazon seem to have some, but Im a bit alarmed that Craig gets a mention (given that it was Jeremy Clarkson in the beginning - yes, Im *that* old). Can anyone whos got it tell me if its worth getting? (Mostly for a laugh, by modern standards, obviously).
