oh my god why is doing this god! next it will be on at 12pm jee. Five sort yourself out
no its 1.10pm
Ok....as the action gets tenser, the start time gets earlier....
No series eight for Channel 5, Im willing to bet on that now!
i have to get up early now
Werent things looking ood for RW when five took it up?
But now it seems RW is falling like its start times
I have half-an-hours swimming at 11:30 on Sundays, so I have to get up early anyway. :P
hmm i think channel 5 are silly moving robot wars where ever they fancy. put it back on bbc2 or better yet MAKE A ROBOT WARS CHANNEL
Great heat i have to say. best bit was DTK flew over the arena in 6 secs! Worst bit was well NONE! well done x terminater :) and torando.
Best Fight: Bulldog/TAN
Worst Bit: XT boys going OTT with Bulldog... they should have just left them as they werent going anywhere...
total distructions though i thought they nearly went OOTA Bulldog but yea i agreee should of left em.
It was a bit too much IMHO.
Best bits: Gravity throwing Dantomkia OOTA in 6 secs (that definately is a world record for the fastest KO & OOTA)
Worst bits: In my opinion (which I wasnt expecting), Bulldog Breed taking a d*** good thrashing from X-Terminator
I missed half of this as I went on a Sunday lunch at a local pub in Whitchurch. Cant 5 sort out a good schedule?
Worst Bit: XT boys going OTT with Bulldog
Whats OTT?
I think X-terminator was trying to get Bulldog Breed Out of the arena to protect it from those nasty house robots.
Best Bit - Shunt being flipped over :)
over the top
OTT = Over The Top
ie.. too much !
It was a sad moment to see XT totally destroying a machine long after any threat that it posed had gone. Their excuse of they could have flipped us at any time didnt hold much water when BB were unable to drive around the arena, and stuck on the side wall !!!
...looked to me more like (there at the time) that XT was desperate to flip BB out of the arena at all costs - and regardless of the damage the caused, repeatedly taking bigger and bigger run ups to do so trying to go for the glory.
Dave : If you really believe that XT was saving BB from the damage the HRs could have dished out, then sadly I think youre living on another planet !

Dont worry boyz Bulldog has a long memory :proud::proud::proud:
Yes, I always thought a certain Mr Dave was a little soft in the head. (cough) Panicattackcommunity (cough)
Once you have immobilised your opponent, then that is is - finished apart from a mercy pitting or OOTA. What XT did to BB was totally out of order and gained them no respect from other Roboteers - which was evident in the pits. Im sure that the future of Robot Wars does not include needless destruction like this. I have no problem with the victory - most impressive, they just when OTT and spoilt it.
Paul
It would have been funny if the Refbot came in at X-Terminator, and rammed X-Terminator onto its back, then counted it out.
He could have flipped us at any time. Oh, yes, Im sure he could if it werent for the fact that the flipper had been destroyed, and it was stuck against the arena wall!
That is one reason why I dont like spinners, they go over the top.
Typhoon held back once the robot was immobisle, so did Razer, that what earns them respect. Where has all the axes disappeared to?
I think they were just exited that they had a robot that worked and did damage for once:)
They already had proved that! They didnt need to go to that extreme!
That is the problem with the new breed of spinner devolping, they do massive amounts of damage and hense once the opponent is immobile if they keep going then there could literally be nothing left for the opposition to take away. We tried to do as little damage as was required as it doesnt just damage our opponents, it could damage us aswell as half the energy from the collision goes back through us. X-terminator were over the top and I urge all other spinners to be merciful once their opponent is out.
Apart from that it was a fantastic semi and i just hope the next one is as good a show.
Weve already had this kind of discussion after the incident of Micro Mutes deliberate destruction by the HRs was broadcast - Im saddened to once again see that kind of thing - even more so as it was one competitor on another.
It all happened in the past but what the (!) were you thinking?
Yeah it was not the best advertisment for the sport and spinners alike.I sat in the pits at the time shaking my head and thats unusual for me.
Good to see Ive lost the distinction of the fastest ever loss, but OTT from XT ? I did see the flipper activate near the end ! Was this an accidental firing or a signal that we are not dead ? Tony ????
I did think however that a gentlemans agreement was usually the order of the game, we had one with King B3. Wheels and rear end only.
Thought provoking actions !!!!!

Further thought after last post.
Gary X-terminator were over the top and I urge all other spinners to be merciful once their opponent is out
I also ditto this for flippers & orther forms of weaponry.
We cant self right (accepted by us) but were flipped many times after being immobilised last year at a private event. What might look like fun does still cause damage, albeit not external.
Paul S.
Yer i think cosmetic damage is good fun to watch after an opponent is immobilised.
e.g.
Ripping off wheels or decorations.
XT3 clearly wanted them OOTA but they werent gonna do it, so I dont know why they carried on. What about Tsunami? They where dead long time before the end of the match and XT jsut kept wacking them.
Well maybe XT boys learnt from this, and another reason to make the wall higher - so not ot give nasty spinners ideas!
(I am a fan of spinners though)
As the flipper was still working on Buldog Breed just before X-Terminator finished them off, & they still appeared to have some movement, even though they we sideways against the arena wall, I think that X-Terminator were not OTT in their attacks.
Remember Series 5 when Bigger Brother beat Hypnodisc in the first fight of the Series Final. I watched it live from the pits & was convinced that Bigger Brother was finished & totally trashed beyond all recognition. They still managed to beat Hypnodisc by pushing them into the pit. Incidentally, after that fight there were that many people helping to repair Bigger Brother, it must have totalled between 50 & 100 man hours to get it ready again.
With all the flames, lights, etc, its very difficult to see exactly what is going on from the gantry. Bulldog Breed may have known that their robot was dead because they had the transmitter in their hands, X-Terminator would not know this. If X-Terminator had backed off, who knows, a nudge from Refbot could have got Bulldog Breed back in the fight & they could have pushed X-Terminator into a CPZ or the pit, changing the expected outcome of the fight.
Obviously I have these views from the editing that I saw on the telly, & as we all know, what you see on the telly is not always what actually happened, but certainly from what I saw today, X-Terminator were not OTT. In fact, if you look at earlier parts of the fight, they were ramming Bulldog Breed without their weapon spinning which as far as Im concerned is backing off.

I thought it was a little OTT , but there did seem to be life in the flipper at the end. I really like Bulldog though so watching it as kind of horrible, but you have to respect XT for brutalising a robot that is in their own words, built like a tank.
Bulldog breed are well know for coming off as big mouths with how tough their robot is. 6mm Ti this 5mm ti that, superior this so that is why they had to have a bit of humility dished to them by the disk of death.
Quite a few smiles when DTK got sent home like a girl.
bit harsh that mate. And it was DANTOMKIA i believe not DTK
Phongo who? maybe see you in the arena sometime
:):):)
A lot is edited out on television so tv-viewers wont know how long some situations last and whether the roboteers knew if their opponent is immobilised or not, but in the pits we see it all on monitors and some people go to view in the audience when the fight promises to be interesting... so it happened that after the fight between X-Terminator and Bulldog Breed much roboteers in the pits were frankly disgusted and some even upset about it. We expect fair-play, honoring it ourselves, and what we call in Dutch natrappen or after-kicking does -in my point of view- not add to the show and spectacle. Please remember that practically all roboteers have to pay for the (sometimes really expensive) parts themselves and that non-battle damage is not appreciated !
So it happened that after the fight between X-Terminator and Bulldog Bree much roboteers in the pits were frankly disgusted and some even upset about it.
Shouldnt it be something like this?

Always suspiscious when a user with a strange name appears, and his first post is something highly controversial and going against the grain of the thread.
.... seems a very conversant newbie in the speak to me.

I think Phongo needs to apologise to the Bulldog Breed team. Im no linguistics expert, but seeing that makes me think they are being rude. I challenge you to put whatever youve built to fight Bulldog, the new hardox one - and see if you come out on top. :)
Phongo is not the Man Utd idiot off the other
site is he?
