Predictions

Yes I know its early to post my predictions but Im flying out on Friday, so I though Id get my predictions in nice & early. Now unlike my previous individual predictions, Im going to predict what would happen in the first rounds.

Raging Knightmare Vs Tornado (1)
Raging Knightmare will outshoved by Tornado & either dumped in the pit or a judges decision. I think Tornado will win this as its 4WD and much more powerful.

Dantomkia (5) Vs Gravity
Gravity is 1 dangerous robot, I think its a case of who flips who out of the arena first. Gravity would probably win this fight as they have the most awesome flipper since Chaos 2 & Wheely Big Cheese.

St Agro Vs X-Terminator (11)
The Cornish will have no chance I think as their wheels will be smashed by X-Terminators disc. X-Terminator to win this fight.

Bulldog Breed (12) Vs Tough As Nails
This could be a fight of 2 halves. It could either be Bulldog Breed out-shoves & flips Tough As Nails OOTA or Bulldog Breed getting crushed by Tough as Nails. Im going for Bulldog Breed on this 1.

HOT TIPS: Tornado (1), Gravity, X-Terminator (11) & Bulldog Breed (12)

2 must qualify for the final, I think X-Terminator will make it but I cant decide between Tornado or Gravity. This is really tough. What do you lot think?

Id say X-Terminator and Gravity. Not really sure though.

Also, am I the only won to notice a pattern of the second seed usually going out in the last round of the semis?

How can the 2nd seed be in the semis. Firestorms heat is next week.

No, look;

In Series 2 (there were a few seeds then), Mortis, the 2nd seed (who DIDNT finish second!), was beaten by Panic Attack in the last round of the semi-finals.

In series 5, Pussycat was beaten by Firestorm in the last round of the semis.

In series 6, Bigger Brother was beaten by Terrorhurtz in the last round of the semis.

Its just co-incidence. Like in the tag team, the reigning champs always get beat in round 1 by the eventual champs.

My predictions

TORNADO (1) vs RAGING KNIGHTMARE
Tornado to push around and pit Raging Knightmare

DANTOMKIA (5) vs GRAVITY
Dantomkia to be OOTAd by Gravity

X-TERMINATOR (11) vs ST. AGRO
X-Terminator to grate the wheels with that deadly spinner.

BULLDOG BREED (12) vs TOUGH AS NAILS
Bulldog Breed to send TAN OOTA.

Yes, but in series 4, Hypno-disc, the 2nd seed then, actually WON the last round of the semi-finals, so the pattern doesnt follow suit.

And if there HAD been seeds for Series 3, it wouldnt have followed suit either. Cassius 2 (who WOULD have been 2nd seed) didnt even get THAT FAR.

Itll have been a hat-trick if it happens to Firestorm ;)

If Wild Thing had got back a late attack, then Hypno-Disc probably wouldnt have gone through. Remember, there was only 1 point in it.

I think that Gravity and Xterminator will get into the grand final, with bulldog breed and tornado making up the other two robots to get into round 2.

Chris, ALL of the late attacking was done by Wild Thing in that fight.

Yeah, but that doesnt explain Cassius 2.

Imagine if Robot Wars series 3 HAD had seeds. Cassius 2 would have been seeded 2, and they lost round 2. Your so called pattern doesnt work.

I really dont think that patterns have much to do with who goes through. What does matter is that this looks to be one of the most entertaining semi finals yet.

Yeah, but I still find this amusing;

In Series 3, Ming was knocked out in Round 1.
In Series 4, Ming was knocked out in Round 2.
In Series 5, Ming was knocked out in Round 1.
In Series 6, Ming was knocked out in Round 2.
In Series 7, Ming was knocked out in Round 1.

Raging Knightmare Vs Tornado(1)
Gotta tip Tornado to win but Knightmare may get a few flips in.

Dantomkia (5) Vs Gravity
Boy gravity has a good chance in this battle watch DTK fly but DTK may get a flip in.

St Agro Vs X-Terminator (11)

St argro will be X TERMINATED IN ABOUT 20 SECONDS!

Bulldog Breed (12) Vs Tough As Nails

If TAN gets its claws behined BB it just might push them in the pit but BB is a good flipper.


Next Round this is my predictions:

Torando(1) vs Gravity

This will be close but torando has more pushing power but gravity has the flipper. im backing gravity to edge it.


X terminator(11) vs Tough as Nails

XT this will be another X TERMINATED unless TAN get them clawed first.

Actually it looks like Tornados using the drum against RK, so I think itll be closer than we thought. Still Tornado to win though.

Tornado v Raging Knightmare

Im going to stick my neck out here and go for an upset. Im just wondering how well they can attack without getting flipped and both robots use the side walls for most of there action so Im going for a large wind blowing OOTA

Dantomkia v Gravity

This will be close. I think the difference could come in the form of DTKs use as a fully body spinnery thingmajiggy

St. Agro v X-Terminator

No t a hope in hell for the cornish lads unless they do an Iron Awe

Bulldog Breed v TAN

BB has trouble getting things OOTA, so Im going for the invertible TAN TO GRAB THEM AND DUMP THE DOG DOWN THE PIT.

Raging Knightmare v Gravity

Gravity to fir the Raging Knightmare back into the land of Dreams...or OOTA whichever comes quicker :-O

X-Terminator v TAN

X-tarminator IMHAEIO cant damage anything other than the tyres, and theyre expendable. TAN to outpush them and dump them in the pit.

Tornado to meet Gravity, I would want Gravity to win but I have this feeling that it would be Tornado.

X-Terminator to meet Bulldog Breed and rip it up a bit.

Tornado v Raging Knightmare

Some people might disagree, but I think that Knightmare has had luck as its main weapon so far (ROTAS C02 pipe bursting, Spawn Again team failing to realize they needed a new ram), so I think Tornado.

Dantomkia v Gravity

Gravity to misfire a flip, send itself into orbit, and hit the Moon, whereupon it goes splatt...OK, Gravity.

X-Terminator v St. Agro

Depends if St. Agro can get one good attack on X-T...if so, one good flip and its all over. Otherwise, X-Terminator.

Bulldog Breed v Tough as Nails

Bulldog Breed. Not really sure why.

Why? Sorry if it sounds insulting, but;

1;How on earth is Raging Knightmare supposed to flip Tornado? Tornado may be all brawn, but he isnt stupid, certainly smart enough to avoid flippers. After the rebuild, Tornado has NEVER been flipped OOTA, so RK will have next to no chance. Besides, Defending Champions NEVER go out till at least the second round of the Semis.

2;Bulldog Breed has problems flipping robots OOTA? ARE YOU KIDDING??? Did you not see it in the TTT; you know, the one where it flipped Pussycat clean out of the ring? Its near impossible to do that at any rate (Chaos 2 never managed it anyway, neither could M2). TAN is much bigger than cat, so its Bulldogs for the taking.

3;OK, TANs tyres might be expendable, its wheels overall are NOT! Even if it DID beat Bulldog, it wouldnt last 10 seonds with X-terminator.

The other predictions I do agree, though its much more likely that Tornado will face Gravity, and I think it will then beat it. X-terminator then trashes Bulldog to win through too.

Well your entitle to your opinions but in all honesty I dont agree. (Well, I know that obvious)

Tornado gets flipped constantly, certainly in previous series, so agression will be a big factor and a few flips should do the trick.

TTT? Well it couldnt do it to Infernal Contraption, HARD or Kat 3 and its the most recent version thats in the warzone!

TAN wouldnt lat 10 seconds, I beg to differ. One hold and it will be about 3 SECONDS before mr XT iis down the pit.

1;So what. 4 or 5 flips. Thats not going to compare to 40 or 50 hard rams. Besides, one of those pushes might be into the pit.

2;It NEARLY did with IC, it only didnt cos it was the wrong place in the arena. Hard is way too small and kept going the wrong way and Kat 3 kept righting out of the way.

3;You try holding onto something with an incrediably powerful flywheel. Besides, it wont be TAN fighting XT, it will be BB, Im sure! (not a spoiler).

You can argue all you want, and I DO except you have the right to make predictions, but when Raging Knightmare is pitted and/or TAN goes flying OOTA, dont expect simpathy from me, OK? Im just telling you.

Sounds cool i just hope my favourites, Bulldog Breed, do well.

Thanks Frank, and I agree with you, however, unfortunately, Iam one of those people who when being attacked likes to return the favour.

You say one of those pushe might be in the pit. So what, one of those flips might be OOTA. Who knows? Not me and certainly not you either.

You make excuses for BB and excuses dont work, if you say I couldnt do it because they were to small that means that you arent going to beat any of the small robots and therefore you have a weakness and weaknesses cant be excused!

As for TAN, if hes fighting BB, BBs weakness will come back, especially against an invertible robot. Yeah hell get agression points but that counts for nothing when youre in the pit.
Against X-t, if hes in the claws, hell either not reach anything that can be damaged, hell hit the same spot over and over, possibly shearing a panel, so what?! Or hell have the disc itself grabbed, or TAN wont grab it from the front in the first place

Matty, to shear of a panel of TAN any robot will be hard pressed.Even SOW ot Typhoon 2.
No,the frame is the chassis, and everything is welded completely.Even the softer welds are about 300NM/mm², and the total length and thickness are a lot of mm²

About the wheels. its about impossible to destroy one of those so it cant act like a wheel. part of the idea. A disk will grind into it, rip out pieces, but it will still be able to put any resemblanvcce of drive on the floor.

All the talk of whether Knightmare will beat Tornado etc. is completely irrelevant as anyone who visited the five website over the past few weeks would surely know. :)

That was my argument on the wheels, but Mr Mason here decides he knows better than the team themselves!

Besides, IC looks like a little S3 and Hard is shaped like Wild Thing, and THEY couldnt be flipped OOTA very easily.

Tornado will beat Knightmare, Bulldog will beat TAN and THATS FINAL!(non spoiler)

OH yeah, and something else.

How on earth can you expect TAN to get Bulldog down the pit? It couldnt with Robochicken*, and Bulldog is way more powerful drive wise than Robochicken.

*The only reason it DID pit RC was that it then stopped trying to prevent pitting; it knew it would win anyway. Bulldog cant do that

Oh, and Matty, Im like that too. I feel I have to return the favour.

I doubt that X-Terminator will be able to damage TAN at all. However, they have two LEM130 for drive.

Dont underestimate the disc of XT. It is exceptionally powerful. Also remember that if it doesnt pierce it can always hit hard enough to flip TAN or damage those elctronics.

I definately think TAN will beat Bulldog, you cant blast people for their opinion, TAN has proved its a very well controlled hard to beat robot, Bulldog has yet to flip someone OOTA, and you cant have a chance in the pit, did you see how easily it dispatched gravity and everyone else in its heat

I doubt anyone will believe it, but after the robochicken fight, one of the speedos in TAN was down.One of the chips on the board came out of the socket.
Bugs remedied that very nicely by soldering the thing in the socket.And the second one for good messure.

So yes, if the wacks are hard enough, the electronics can fail.

Jamie, did you not see the Tag Team Terror? Bulldog flipped Pussycat clean out of the ring and it wasnt even close to the wall! Are you blind or something? (No offence, but I dont believe what you are saying)

Yes, I saw the Tag Team Terror as well. One moment Bulldog had its flipper underneath Pussycat, NOWHERE NEAR the wall, the next second Bulldogs flipper was coming up, the next Pussycat was soaring through the air, the next, Pussycat was OUTSIDE THE ARENA.

I saw that Tag Team Terror bout from in the audience. It was a completely genuine and very well executed OOTA.

OK, well I accept that but Im still not going to change my predictions.

Yes, Have you seen Tough As Nails dispose Scraptosaur and Disco Inferno within seconds of the battle starting,there have been much more OOTAs than any other series by far, but Bulldog breed seemed to not be able to get it other the wall same thing with Thermy, Bulldog may be able to flip TAN,but bearing a fluke like Iron Awe TAN is too controlled to be tossed around
