Possible social in south wales/west ?

hey guys
i just wanted to find out if there are any other roboteers living in the south wales/south west region,and if you would be interested in coming to an organised social event for this region.as far as i know,there is nothing down this way as of yet,but if there is sufficient interest,then yours truly will try to get one organised for us all to meet and greet,and generally have a good night.

The Mega Morg boys are from Swansea at Morriston School, but Ive never seen any of them on any of the forums. There are a few others around here as well, like Panic Attack, but they tend to keep to themselves.

As for us, we and Taurus (formerly UFO) are based in the Vale of Glamorgan, in South Wales. I think we may be up to a few bevvies sometime. Where abouts are you based?

im doign the AWS there in july if any one in that area has an ant feel free to join us :)

I aint got an ant, but Im in Bristol. I might have one by July though. Im trying to stick to the
featherweights right now.

B,i KNOW the morg boys,i just need to find out if they want to take part in this stuff(with the way they drunk at the last wars,i cant see that as a problem!):proud:
joe, no problem there, but im guessing swansea may be a bit far away unless you are spending the night there.
i can assure everyone that swansea has a great nightlife,so a social there should be great(if expensive) fun.

Swansea is fine for me, only 1/2 an hour down the road and a few friends with flats to crash in after a night out.

Dont we have a regional rep?
If we do ,then that person seems to be a bit quiet on the social front.

Is there any way of finding out who we actually have in this region? And where, exactly they are located? This would be handy in the whole scheme of things, let alone trying to organise a get-together.

Ill ask Jonno for any information he has, but if anyone out there knows of who and where anyone is (in the South West/Wales region only please, Craig!), post here. Please?

Welcome to the Forum, Ceri. Im B, one half of Team Taurus.

Ive been waiting for someone to reply to my post of 28th March. Seems you and us are the only ones willing to be sociable in this area.

We (tother half (Mark) and me) were told at the Bristol event in July that we are now the Area Reps for South West and Wales, but as I couldnt locate any others, we were thinking we were it!

I see from your profile you live in Swansea. (Do you know the Mega Morg boys, from Morriston School?) We are in the Vale of Glamorgan. What are you building, what events have you been to/going to etc, etc? Are you going to the Newport event on 18/19th September?

Scuse me for bombarding the questions at you, but Im in shock that there are others out there!

What area does that south west cover?

Im not too sure about that myself, Ewan.

But I think Geoff Smith mentioned something about some of the regions being changed to make it a bit more user friendly.

It does cover Bristol, though! ;)

Your new area chairman is going to be appointed at the the next FRA meeting. So there is every chance that there will be some social events in the south west very soon... watch this space!

It would be good to get something organised, although it seems that there arent very many people in this area.
Any suggestions for a venue are welcome.

Does South Wales/West include Herefordshire. I really hope so, the Midlands may in theory have more roboteers but there still seems to be bog all happening in the region ;(

Were buried in Cornwall so the only hope of a social is if we get a Lands End chapter set up.

just reading your posts and no offence to geoff but just by chatting between yourselves you can soon arrange a social night out in your area 1 person say does anyone fancy meeting up for a drink ............. and there you go... as we are not in your area but we are always up for a drink and our door is always open to roboteers so if anyone fancies a nite out in worksop your more than welcome ......... we have room to sleep six ish ...............pete

I really regret missing the last event there and I wondered whether it was happening for, I think, the 4th year running?

Is Taurus going to Aberystwyth in January, perchance?

I propose a meeting for january 15th.

Open to surgestions for the venue, but i think that near the M4 at Newport at is perhaps the most central for most.

probably not going to make aberystwyth.

Okay, maybe the 22nd is better than the 15th because of the Dublin event.

Am i to assume by the lack of response that nobody in this region is interested in a meeting?
