Melee 1

Quite a hesitant fight for everyone but Edge Hog, who I felt did the best in this melee, as it was only a double team by the Welsh boys that got rid of it. Before that theyd been hapilly thwacking everything in sight.. Both Mega Morg and Panic Attack seemed to be slow off the mark, and Spin Doctor never got off it as it failed to spin and was tipped over by Panic Attack.

Melee 2

Tough as Nails very efficiently disposed of Disc-O-Inferno, a favourite with some to win the entire heat! Robochicken got rid of the much pondered Blades of Destruction, which turned out to be a bit disappointing. And Robochicken, for the first time in two years, gets past the opening melee. As Mr burns would almost say... Eggggscellent:proud: *Does the wooty chicken dance*

Featherweight melee

I think what the house robotos did to Micro Mute was disgusting. Is it any wonder there are less and less smaller robots each year, when the HRs make a point of destroying them? Adam looked MAD when he left the controll booth and I honestly dont blame him

Tough as Nails vs Panic Attack

A long, slow, tense fight even though Panic Attack just didnt seem to have an answer to what Tough as Nails was doing to it. Meanwhile Tough as Nails seemed to have problems grappling with Panic Attack, and was being out pushed slightly so they couldnt have it all their own way. Good fight.

Robochicken vs Mega Morg

A bit of a barny at first, as both robots tried to ruffle each others feathers, while scrathing around for a weakness. In the end, it was Robochicken who plucked up the courage, and flew in to fire a fatal flip... Then in a display of fowl play, hit Mega Morg with the disc a few times.

Robochicken vs Tough as Nails

In a bizarre twit-around style display, this time it was Tough as Nails who was floundering, semmingly unable to stop Robochicken having its way as it was flipped, winged, and shoved it around. After a while Tough as Nails managed to recover from that right basting and proceeded to batter Robochicken all over the arena. I think after it was damaged by Tough as Nails, Shunt and was held against the arena angle drinder for a while, Robochicken was stuffed, even after putting up a really plucky display, making this... Fight of the night:proud:

Robochicken has become a very good robot. I must admit that I underestimeted there robot. In the first fight I couldnt push them into the pit untill they knew that they where through to the next round. If they wanted, they would be driving around in the arena untill the 5 min. where over.

Best bits: Tough As Nails pitting Disco Inferno straight away, Micro Mute taking on Matilda and Robochicken improving its performance

Worst bits: Robochicken losing (I think it was a bit contraversial) and Panic Attack getting weaker every year (They desperately need a new design)

TAN did quite a bit of damage to Robochickens armour, and damage counts for quite a lot:

Yes, because whe are fans of elvis and Pulverizer didnt got throught the qualifier.

You will have to wait a bit for the story to unfold later in the series....

Also, we hadnt desided on a team outfit....

Pullveriser was a neat piece of gear. Not many decent vertical spinners around.

He was very unlucky during the qualifications... normally Pullverizer is just about the most reliable robot in the Netherlands (there is the reason why it is the ruling Dutch Champion) but in the arena it suddenly would not respond anymore (which was frustrating because for once I was allowed to operate its weapon). Additional to that Robo Chicken was in the same qualifier fight suffering also from RX related problems so we thought is was interference. Especially because when I activated the weapon Robo Chicken would respond to it.
Back in the camping we may have found a second reason: his transmitter was behaving oddly.
So we will never know for sure...

Concerning the t-shirts: they had ordered a large batch and sold them to live event visitors and roboteers, in fact they are of extremely good quality and pleasing to the eye. That is why so many of us were wearing them, plus for one other reason that I will not betray right now. It was an insiders joke.

Most of the foreign machines, with the exception of Splinter and Ansgar, made it into the main competition didnt they?

Its fantastic to see how these bots have come on. Reliable, violent and inventive.

Whatever happened to the German robot Blackhole? That was very dangerous in the arena.

That team gave up robotwars about 6 months ago.
I think theyve sold everything.

Thats a crying shame....that was one real mean robot!!
