Pussycat Tribute Tournament 3...continued!

Allow me to introduce myself to those who do not know me here. Im Steve McG:) and I am the creator of the Pussycat Tribute Tournament - a fan fic tournament started in Autumn 2002 as a late tribute to Pussycat driver David Gribbles passing away.
The fights in the 1st PTT (72 bots from 12 people) werent exactly War and Peace (no peace for a start :proud:), but the tourney came to a successful close and was well received by the other member of the RW Forum:)

PTT2 rolled round in the spring of 2003 and with it came even more competitors - a total of 96 machines from 16 people! By now, my writing style was really improving and when the series came to a close (with one of the best fights Ive ever written IMO), the other members thought I was doing a great job...and thats a first! :proud:
Now, we come to PTT3. Started in the Summer/Autumn of 03, this, my finest creation, has really done me proud, containing some of my finest ever fights...and the Best Tournament Award on the old RW Forum.:) It wont be long now until this War also comes to an end, with 2 Heats, 2 Semis and the Final left to do...but right after that, Ive got another tourney project to carry out:proud:

THE BUSINESS ENDS flipped Son of Ripper 2 and managed to burst a tyre while hammering its underbelly

THE BUSINESS ENDS battered Hypno Disc(2) until both the disc AND the robot became immobile!

Today in Heat O, we have one of the most successful robots in robotic combat history - ex-RW champion, twice RW World Champion and our No.4 seed, Razer! Although now retired, the fearsome British machine still reign havoc in these fan fic tournaments and the PTT is no exception! As both a Heat Finalist AND a Grand Finalist, Razer has definitely proven itself as one of the Top Dogs of the PTT - however, a new War has dawned and the No.4 seed will have to try and live up to its reputation once again, but newcomers BackSpin 2.0 and Supreme Glory Beta won€™t be making it easy for Marty...
Also today, we see the return of another ex-RW champion - our 20th seed Panic Attack (ANOTHER Marty bot - stupid seeding line-up :proud:) Although a few people will claim that this machine is outdated now, PA has still managed to prove its determination in both previous PTTs, reaching a Heat Semi-Final and a Heat Final. Now returning for a third time in its S5 incarnation, the former British champion hopes to go one step further once again - but first he has to get past two more newcomers in the shape of the walking Dragonfly and the Killsaw-on-wheels, Under Force

Rather surprisingly, Supreme Glory Beta seems to start off as the quickest of the three machines, scuttling into the arena centre!! However, as the walker prepares itself for its first attack, BackSpin 2.0 trundles over and tries to slide under the skirt!! Just as the Biohazard-style arm seems to be succeeding in this department, SGB€™s axe spins round and comes down on the Australian wedge with some mighty force!! Despite this, though, BackSpin€™s thick armour has stood up to the blow!! The PTT newcomer starts twirling away from the walker to avoid another blow, when Razer nips over to the other two machines and heads straight for SGB€™s side!! The No.4 seed has avoided the vicious axe and the €œscoop€ on the sloped seems to be having more success at sliding under the walker than BackSpin€™s arm!! However, the Australian wedge trundles merrily round the back of SGB, as the axe spins round to get a shot at Razer, and tries once again to slide under the skirts of the boxy walker!! With not that much success again, BackSpin tries another assault, but as it does, the No.4 seed (having just taken a nasty jab on the claw from the Beta axe) leaves SGB alone and instead heads over to the back of the walker to see BackSpin!! The Australian wedge quickly whirls round and just avoids the scoop of Razer slipping underneath it!! Nevertheless, the No.4 seed is also quite the Mr Manoeuvrable in the arena and twirls round to chase down BackSpin!! As the PTT newcomer nips across the ring to the Pit Release Button, Razer close behind, the nippy SGB scuttles after BackSpin and catches up to it, just as it presses the Tyre!! The siren echoes across the ring and BackSpin whirls round to make its journey back to the arena centre to continue its fight...but as it turns, SGB jogs right up to BackSpin and scrapes its front skirt underneath the Australian wedge!! By ramming his opponent into the arena wall and pinning it down after a blow from the now-positioned axe, Danny is making sure that BackSpin isn€™t going anywhere fast!!! As another blow is given to the well-protected wedge, Razer finally catches up to its foe and heads around to BackSpin€™s side!! The No.4 seed positions itself underneath the side of the wedge and slowly begins lowering its claw towards the exposed aluminium wheels!!! With another blow from SGB coming down on the front, Tom tries to escape as the crusher starts squeezing down on the rubber treads!!! Not wanting the No.4 seed to have all the fun, SGB backs away, dragging the pinned BackSpin with it, and turns towards the Pit!! With the lip getting closer and Razer catching up as well, Tom tries firing the Biohazard arm to get his robot free...but the powerful axe is making sure it stays down!! Finally, SGB reaches the Pit, retracts the hammer and allows BackSpin 2.0 to slide into the cavernous hole!!!

The crusher-clad Dragonfly starts off as the slowest in the fight, as Panic Attack and Under Force meet in the arena centre!! With the forks scraping the ground, the No.20 seed collides with the PTT newcomer€™s front and slips the forks under the front wedge!! Combined with a good hard shove forwards, Martyn quickly has Under Force over on its back!! However, Andy activates his srimech and the Firestorm-style arm atop the box wedge sends the newcomer back onto its 2 go-kart wheels!! Now in the centre of the action, Dragonfly tries taking its chance on Panic Attack!! The horizontal arms try to get a grip onto the No.20 seed, but Marty quickly guides his entry away from the walking box and just dodges a ram attack from Under Force!! Sharply whirling round, Andy steers the PTT newcomer away from the former UK champion and sends his machine around to the side of the slow-moving Dragonfly!! The box wedge slides under the unprotected side and the now-active flywheel pops out of the front slope!! Although a nice great slice has now been added to the underbelly of the Dragonfly, Under Force hasn€™t been able to flip the heavy walker over!! Instead, the crusher-clad cube simply falls back onto its legs and scuttles away from the fellow newbie!! Andy decides to have another crack at the Dragonfly...before PA bustles over again!! The No.20 seed dodges another frontal assault from Under Force and swings round, sliding the forks underneath the side of the PTT newcomer!! The prongs start lifting up again and now, one of PA€™s forks has slipped into one of the wheel houses!! (Remember its fight against SMIDSY 3 RW seasons ago?) With the forks locked in the gap, the No.20 seed takes the partially-lifted Under Force across the arena (while Dragonfly walks over to the Pit Release) and over to the side-fence!! With another powerful shove from the PTT veteran, Under Force finds itself once again on its back!! However, PA slides under the newcomer again and starts altering its positioning with a few nudges!! Andy activates the srimech to right the machine...but it€™s just not happening!!! The self-righter€™s working fine...but with its underbelly facing the wall, there€™s just not enough room for the new machine to properly flip itself back over!!! While Panic Attack heads over for a little tussle with Dragonfly, Refbot heads over and starts counting out Under Force...who€™s still trying to get back over!!! Defiant to the end!! :proud:

Wanting to end the fight with a €œbang€, Matilda trundles rear-first out of her CPZ over to Under Force...and whacks the PTT newcomer with her horrible flywheel!! Andy€™s machine has been righted...but it€™s now also sporting a nice scar right down the side!!! Unhappy with this, Marty veers PA away from Dragonfly and instead over to Matilda!! The House Robot tries to get a blow on the No.20 seed, but the former UK champ has swerved away from the flywheel and under her side!! The forks start raising again, PA starts pushing again...and Matilda finds herself rolled onto her side!!! :proud:

But before that, we have for our penultimate Pinball runner in the shape of PTT newcomer, Falchion! Despite having no experience here in the PTT, this barrel-shaped bot with front wedge has caused quite a stir recently, most noticeably in AJWars 3, where it is currently seeded 7th! We€™ll see the lifting sword€™s PTT battle debut in our next and final Heat, but first, the blade can get some practice our Pinball arena :)

PA shouldnt be able to get underneath the skirts, so Ill pummel the top in with the axe, damaging the internal electronics and eventually immobolising it due to SGBs axe power (greater than Terrorhurtzs). If I cant immobolise it, I should win on a JD.

Ill repeat my NSBFR tactiocs in the VFT pinball. Run into the barrels and spin one to knock them all down, then go around the arena clockwise hitting everything. For the HR targets Ill get the blade under the house robot to shove them into the target, or if that doesnt get any points, out of the way. Except of course, for Killalot. Ill just have to move around him.
For going over the ramp Ill need to raise the sword to its highest level, so Ill start raising it before I get too near. Once all the big points are scored, Ill knock as many balls in the pit as possible in the time remaining.

Despite one of the worst weeks in recent months (2nd German prelims for no reason, studying the most depressing poet in the universe, snow which barely qualifies as decent snow...and then there€™s Tony...:sad:), it all seems to have been made up for in the form of lots and lots o€™ lovely snow!!! :proud: And now, it€™s time to really brighten the place up with a bit of violence :proud:

Getting off to a swift start, Falchion leaves the starting grid and veers over to the barrels over on its right!! The PTT newcomer collides with the pyramid and sends only 2 barrels tumbling down...but a nice big twirl into the remaining drums quickly has all 6 lying on the arena floor!! Wasting no time, Falchion swings back round and trundles across the ring to the second set of barrels!! This initial collision sends 3 falling to the floor, but another spin gets all 6 drums motionless on the ground!! Halting its whirling frenzy, Falchion calmly heads down the arena...right into Sgt Bash!!! The House Robot gives a blast of flame, but the long lifting sword has already slid underneath the militaristic menace!! The PTT newcomer raises the blade and slowly sends Bash€™s front rising into the air!! Falchion gives Bash a nice hard push into the arena wall, but it seems clear that the sword won€™t be sending the House Robot over and out on this particular occasion!! Slightly disappointed, Frank lowers the blade, removes the weapon from beneath the Sergeant and turns to try another target...but as Bash watches it prepare to leave, the PTT newcomer swings back round, charges past the House Robot and sticks the slightly raised sword right through the 50 Point Target!!! Falchion tries to back away...and takes the plastic circle bearing €œ50€ covering the tyre along with it!!! :proud: It€™s stuck on the end of the sword!! Not bothering to shake it off, the PTT newcomer trundles down the ring towards the Multi-Ball!! However, before it can even get halfway there, Dead Metal shoots up the ring and slams head-on into Falchion!! The newcomer tries to shove the 112kg machine aside, but with only average traction, Frank€™s machine is finding it tough, as the circular saw starts trying to bite into the polycarbonate shell!!!

Dragonfly starts its slow trek over to its opponent, but Razer has already reached the walker before it€™s even made it to the arena centre!! Quickly whirling round to dodge the added flywheel, the No.4 seed swings round the side of Dragonfly and slips the scoop-wedge underneath the walking box!! With only a skirt at the rear (accompanied by the rear wedge), the €˜Fly is helpless against the sloped front of the former World Champion!! The legs scuttle madly, trying to strut away, but the legendary crushing claw has begun to lower towards the walker€™s vulnerable shell!! Still struggling to get his machine free, Evan can only watch as the crushing beak starts to slowly sink into the boxy bot€™s shell!! Mr McGuigan said himself this shell could be his downfall - and Razer is determined to prove him right by sinking even deeper into the armoury!!! With the claw now deep inside the machine, the No.4 seed slowly drags the weighty walker down the arena and slowly trundles into the Pit Release Button!! The siren blares throughout the ring, as the former World Champion slowly turns round to face the vast crater, taking Dragonfly along with it!!! The flywheel whirls angrily and the pincers open and shut, almost looking like a signal for help!! However, Razer is showing no signs of changing its mind!! The No.4 seed finally manages to shove the weighty walker over to the infamous Pit and with a slow withdrawal of the claw and a nice little push, Dragonfly plummets down into the depths of the arena underworld!!!

This time, it€™s the walker who gets off to the faster start!! Supreme Glory Beta confidently struts to the arena centre and meets Panic Attack as it turns to get around the side of the walker!! However, the PTT newcomer quickly fires its axe, just missing the lid of the No.20 seed!! Swinging into the side of the walking box, Panic Attack tries to slide the forks under the skirts...but the former UK champ seems to be having some difficulty with this!! Quickly whirling the axe round, SGB fires the huge hammer and smacks the top of the No.20 seed with a mighty blow indeed!!! Marty puts Panic Attack into reverse to try and avoid another hammering, but the quicker SGB simply scuttles after the retreating robot and fires the axe again!! The Beta-style hammer shoots towards the former UK champ and strikes the top once again!! A nasty dent has now been added to the lid of the yellow peril!! Again, Marty tires to get Panic Attack backing away, but as it starts to trundle away, SGB spins the axe round and fires once more!! This time, however, the awesome hammer has managed to miss the No.20 seed, much to Mr Forsyth€™s relief!! As the mighty mallet retracts for another go, Panic Attack nips around the side of the walking box and has another try at getting under the skirts!! Again, no such luck!! However, as the axe spins round for another bash, the No.20 seed raises the forks and rams into the PTT newcomer!! Marty has resorted to ramming the walker into the wall!! As a consequence, though, Panic Attack has received at least two more bashes on its lid...causing one of the lights on the top to fall right off!!! :proud: As a third whack of the axe gets another dent on the srimech panel, the No.20 seed backs off again and swings into the side of SGB as the hammer activates once again!! The raised forks push against the side of the walker and a nice great push from the former UK champ soon has the newcomer shoved into Growler€™s CPZ!!! However, as Panic Attack backs away and the House Robot lines itself up for an attack, SGB scuttles out of the patrol zone and struts back into the arena!! Lining themselves up for another attack, the two head towards the arena centre again!! As the two get nearer, Panic Attack turns to try and nip round the side for another ram!! But this time, SGB simply scuttles over, goes skirt to skirt with the No.20 seed and wallops the lid with the almighty axe!!! Pinning the former UK champ with the hammer, the PTT newcomer shoves Marty€™s machine across the arena and right into the arena wall!! Now stuck between the fence and the walker, Panic Attack is going nowhere fast!! Pleased with the way the fight is working out so far, Danny activates the axe and blow after blow begins reigning down on the No.20 seed!!! The forks rise and fall feebly as more and more dents are put in the lid of the former UK champion...and then the forks stop altogether!!! Marty tries to get Panic Attack going as more hammer blows are dealt to the No.20 seed€™s top...but he can€™t!!! SGB must have knocked something (or some things) loose inside!!! Noticing Marty€™s frustration with the controls, Danny lets SGB back away!! Indeed, the former UK champ isn€™t going anywhere!!! Noticing this as well, Refbot quickly trundles over and begins counting out the legend that is Panic Attack!!!

Only kidding, I am really scared about this fight. For this fight, Supreme Glory Beta will use the Beta axe once again and I will try to break something lose inside, as I previously did against Panic Attack. SGB and Razer are roughly the same speeds, so my main tactic for the fight would be to stay away from the pit and get as many hammer blows in as possible. Hopefully, a few well aimed hits on the crusher or the bodywork of Razer could break the weaponry or leave it immobile.

Well, Supreme Glory Beta will challenge our No.4 seed in a few minutes€™ time, but, for today€™s classic encounter, we€™re going to stick with the Daniel Stickler theme :proud: and travel back to the PTT2 Semi-Finals - where one of his finest machines, Pure Evil, collided with the then reigning champion, Beta.

Beta was entered by Mike Jeffries and is armed with a powerful double-headed 36V Etek driven electric axe. It has a wedge at the front, back and sides and was created by UK competitors Team Hurtz for Battlebots.
IN PTT1: it became the champ, pitting Hypno Disc in the Final!
SEEDING: 1st
ROAD TO VICTORY:
In Heat A, Beta began its defense of the title by immobilizing Chris Thorleys TANK and surviving with Alex Holts Slammer.
In Round 2, the champ took on the disc of Evan McGuigans Slash and successfully pitted it.
In Round 3, it took on the unusual Slammer again and after taking a long time to get hold of it, pitted it as well!
SUMMARY: Get in the way of the PTT king and Beta will beat ya!

Pure Evil was entered by Daniel and is armed with a large front flipper and a rear vertical disc. Its similar to Wheely Big Cheese (I think!) and came 3rd in Fantasy Robot Wars 5.

ROAD TO VICTORY:
In Heat G, newbie Pure Evil went past Round 1 with Harry Patrick Nolans Agitator after impressively throwing Alistair Patons wedge-clad Series 6 Tornado out of the arena!
In Round 2, PE pulled off a bigger shock by tossing Firestorm 4(13) out of the arena as well!
In Round 3, it faced Alistair Patons horrible Warhead and after some very good throws, beat it on a judges decision, 31/40 to 23/40!
SUMMARY: Pure Evil- does exactly what it says on the tin!

Right away, Beta charges under at Pure Evil and begins its ferocious axe of doom!! But PE quickly backs away and turns, sinking its disc into the champs side!! As Beta turns to get its axe into play, PE darts away to the arena centre!! Beta follows and tries to get under PEs rear...only to get another taste of the disc!! PE quickly turns and goes wedge to wedge with Betas side!! PE starts to push and sends the champ into the arena wall!! As Beta meets the wall, the force makes it jump a bit off the ground!! Taking advantage, PE drives under it and fires its mighty flipper!! Beta flies upward, nearly 5ft off the ground!!! Luckily, it soars over PE instead of going out of the arena and lands behind its foe on its back!! As PE nudges the champ and prepares for another throw, Beta quickly self-rights with its axe and charges at PE!! It drives underneath and the axe starts to pound the shell of the axlebot!!! But once again, PE backs off and rams Beta side-on, this time into the Pit Release Thingy!! On collision, Beta turns and manages to hit PE a few more times as it backs away again!! As Beta follows it again, PE turns and hits the champ with its disc again!! As it stops on impact, PE pushes Beta into the arena wall again!! PE backs off and as the champ tries to get away (hammering all the while), PE charges disc-first towards the hammer...and hits the axe head!!! The rear flywheel has bent one of the axe heads!!! Taking its chance, PE pushes the stunned Beta into Mr. Psycho!! But as it does so, the hammer starts again, creating more dents in the flipper of PE!! Once in the CPZ, PE backs away and lets Beta fend for itself!! The axe flails madly as Mr. P looms over the champ, but it stops when it gets stuck on the arena wall!!! Mr. P picks it up by the fearsome axe and PE quickly drives under it!! The champ is released and lands on top of PE!! The flipper fires and Beta flies across the arena, landing back on its wheels!! As PE trundles towards it, Beta charges and starts the axe...but it wont start!!! The flip must have knocked something loose!!! Wanting to hold onto its crown, Beta shoves PE towards Mr. P!!! But as it sends PE into the corner, the axlebot drives past Mr. P, just missing a blow from the mighty hammer!!! As Beta charges again, PE head for it disc-first again!! Parts of the laminate armour seem weaker than before now!!!

Being the more manoeuvrable of the two machines, Razer nips around to the side of Supreme Glory Beta...and manages to scrape the wedge underneath the skirt!!! Quickly noticing this, Danny whirls the top turret round to face the No.4 seed and activates the axe!! The Beta-style hammer thumps down onto Razer€™s crushing arm as it slowly lowers towards the cube-like body of the hefty walker!! As the axe retracts for another shot, the claw finally reaches SGB€™s body and very slowly sinks into the thick rubber coating, protecting the polycarbonate!! At 50mm thick, the No.4 seed is finding it difficult to carve its way through the rubbery covering!! Suddenly, the axe fires a second time and another blow is dealt to the former World Champ, this time on the wedge itself!! Realising he could be facing defeat by continuing the fight this way, Marty gets Razer to push the grappled SGB down the arena and right into the Pit Release Button (taking another bash from the hammer in the process)!! With just what he didn€™t want happening actually happening, Danny fire the axe again...and again...and again!!! Either it€™s trying to shake loose or it€™s trying to kill Razer before it can reach the Pit!!! Whatever the motive, the No.4 seed is taking more damage by the second, and Marty feels he has little choice but to remove the claw from the rubbery outer shell!! With the crusher extracted, SGB suddenly scuttles off the front wedge and nips back up to the arena centre, with the former World Champ in hot pursuit!! Noticing its advisory chasing after it, SGB swiftly shifts into reverse and whirls the turret round for another pot-shot!! The hammer fires, but the more manoeuvrable Razer swings round into SGB€™s side!! Keeping calm, Danny decides to retract the axe and swing the turret round for another go...but nothing is happening!!! And quickly, Danny finds out why...Razer has managed to grapple onto the axe!!! :proud: The PTT newcomer tries to swing the axe free using the turret, but, as we all know, the No.4 seed has a VERY good grip...the end of the hammer is even starting to bend a bit!!! Instead, Danny tries firing the axe to try and get free...but the pressure from the claw is too great for the hammer to challenge!!! Suddenly, Razer releases its grip on SGB€™s mallet and trundles round to the side of the walker, just as the turret starts spinning round again!! Seeing Razer slip under the side-skirt for a second time, Danny fires the hammer...but the No.4 seed fails to get hit!!! How? The axe-head has been bent out of position by Razer€™s previous attack!!! SGB fires again and again, as the former World Champ slowly sinks its claw into the PTT newcomer€™s protective rubber coating, but to no avail!!! Not one of the blows could hit the ex-UK champ!!! Now with a firm grip on the walker with the crusher, Razer slowly turns to the Pit and starts trundling over!!! The hammer continues firing, again and again and again, but every blow is failing to make an impact on the No.4 seed!!! With the lip of the Pit closer than Danny would have liked, Razer gradually retracts the claw and, with a little shove, sends Supreme Glory Beta down and out of its first PTT!!!

As both robots have trouble self-righting, Hammerer 2 is slow to self-right and we all know what happens to roll-over designs, dont we Franky :proud:

Thats why the sword can go up AND down Davey-Boy... You roll me against the wall, Ill just roll myself right off :wink:

BBs wheels are quite easy to reach for the sword so Ill slide under and try to spear them, then roll him over. BB only has about 15 flipper fires IIRC, so it shouldnt take too long before he runs out. Also, Hammerer is a walker IIRC, so flipping it out will be a big no-no for BB.

The Team That Wasnt There, I think is Cians famous 5 way clusterbot, and these things can push a heavyweight and can cope with a lot of pressure.

It doesnt really matter. If one goes dead, it can act as a still obstacle for the opponent of the remaining segments. This is especially effective against spinners without much in the way of agility. It can attack wedges and flippers pretty well as well, seeing as theyre generally meant to attack in one direction rather than five.

It can take one to nudge the pit release button on, two to coax a spinner, and two more to try to shove the other robot towards the pit because it has a wicked drive train for its weight. The plate is minimal but the frame is solid.

No disrespect Hector but a decent spinner would knock your robots around like nobodies business, with a chance of instant KO on each piece. Youd probably lose at least half of your team in order to beat one.

Yeah, I always figured if one died, one of the others could use that as a shield against a spinner. Itd be difficult if it got flung into a wall, but probably a legitimate strategy for some spinners.

Today in the final qualifier Heat of the PTT season, last year€™s runner-up returns to the arena - our No.2 seed, SpunOut 3.0. Although a newcomer last time around, SpunOut€™s mighty traction and powerful spinning disc gave it all the bite of a hard-toothed veteran. Ramming its way into the Final, the only thing that could stop SpunOut€™s race to the title was the arena wall...or, more specifically, the arm of The Business Ends propping it against the arena wall! :proud: However, the No.2 seed is back for that championship crown and is looking forward to getting some practice on two equally vicious newcomers - Charybdis, the disc-clad walker, and the unique 5-way cluster that is The Team That Wasn€™t There.
Also today, we welcome back former UK runner-up and our No.18 seed, Bigger Brother. Although not quite as successful here than in the British Wars, the fearsome flipperbot still maintains a solid track record, reaching its Heat Final in both previous PTTs, wherein it was KOed by other Brit legend Hypno Disc...and SpunOut! Now in its Series 6 incarnation, Mr Dave is hoping to gain a little vengeance later on in the competition - but if he wants that far, he€™ll first have to survive his first melee, against the lifting sword of Falchion and the magnetic personality of Hammerer.

But now...the end is near. And so we face the final curtain.

SpunOut 3.0 gets the quickest start of the bunch, as The Team That Wasn€™t There quickly and efficiently starts separating!! With its disc already revving up to lethal speeds, Charybdis scuttles into the arena centre, as the Team completes the separating process...what manner of madness is about to be unleashed? :proud: With the Team members trundling merrily around the ring, SpunOut rams right into Charydbis€™ side as the walker tries to take out one part of the Team!! With its far superior traction, the No.2 seed shoves the newcomer right across the arena and smacks it into the arena wall!! However, just as the PTT2 runner-up backs away from Charybdis, two segments of the Team nip over and slide underneath SpunOut€™s side!! With their combined pushing power, the twins successfully shove the 2nd seed across the ring and right into another arena fence!! While one MORE member of the Team activates the Pit Release Button, Charybdis finds itself being circled by the other two members, just as SpunOut and the remaining pair begin a gruesome tango!! With the twins still running rings round the walker, Alex decides that enough is enough!! As SpunOut gets side-on to one of the segments and rams it across the arena, the Team member whom released the Pit heads over to join the party by Charybdis!! Suddenly, the walker scuttles round...allowing the 20kg machine to head wedge-first into the flywheel!!! Disc meets cluster piece...and the cluster piece is sent a-twirling out of control!! As Hector€™s companion tries to regain control of his stunned segment, Charybdis gives the pack member a good thwack on its side with the flywheel!!! The force sends the Team member rolling onto its back, as the two sections hounding SpunOut slide under the No.2 seed again, giving him a short, sharp trip to the arena wall again!!! With one final blast from the spinner, the battered Team member falls silent...one down, four to go!!! The Lexen armour has received dents and scrapes, and something must have been bashed about inside!!! While the now-free SpunOut another cluster piece shoved across the arena and Charybdis gets shoved side-on across the ring by the other two members, Refbot starts counting out the immobile segment!!!

With two more needing KOed before the Team can be deemed immobile, Hector is not TOO worried by this loss!! However, it has made him wearier of Charybdis and, as SpunOut gets an attack from another member of the team, the two segments ganging up on Alex€™s machine allow the fellow newcomer to scuttle away from the wall...just so the pieces can get round the side and shove the walker around some more!!! :proud: As SpunOut once again takes a Team segment on a tour around the arena, the two team members shoving Charybdis around find the perfect place to send the walker...to Matilda!!! On reaching the House Robot€™s CPZ, the two pieces back off slightly, allowing €˜Tildy to head disc-first into the side of Charybdis, trying to get free!! The flywheel hits the side of the walker and even makes the 200kg competitor €œjump€ slightly off the ground!!! :proud: However, for all its trouble, Alex€™s machine still seems OK!! Scuttling away from the CPZ, the walker trundles by SpunOut, who is sending another section across the arena, closely followed by ANOTHER section!!! This is madness!!! :proud: Wishing to end Alex€™s confusion, the other two competitors nip around to Charybdis€™ side and start shoving the PTT newcomer over towards the Pit!!! However, with the edge getting closer, the skirted box turns and whacks one of the segments on the wedge with its flywheel!!! As it tries to get a second attack on the wounded member, its partner swerves round to Charybdis€™ side and gives it a good hard shove!! As Alex€™s machine tries to get back into step (and as the No.2 seed gets shoved side-on round the arena by the two other team members :proud:), the walker€™s harassers swing round the side once more!! Just as SpunOut breaks free from another slam and starts shoving another team member across the arena (closely followed by its partner), the other two surviving segments use their combined strength to push Charybdis back down the arena...to the edge of the Pit...and in!!!

*PHEW!* Now THAT, my friends, is a long fight! Confusion all round, but it€™s Charybdis who fades into legend this time around! :proud:

And so, the final melee of PTT3 commences!
Bigger Brother starts off the quickest this time around, using its greater speed and manoeuvrability to weave in-between the other two competitors!! However, as the No.18 seed reaches Falchion, the PTT newcomer swings round...scraping its lifting sword underneath the RW5 runner-up!! As the blade slowly raises and tips Bigger Brother over, Hammerer trundles round to the overturned machine€™s side and slowly lowers the arm over!! However, before the hydraulic axe shaft can reach it, the No.18 seed€™s flipper suddenly fires, self-righting the machine with ease!! Back the right way up, Bigger Brother quickly dodges another €œswing€ attack from Falchion and instead nips around to the side of Hammerer!! The No.18 seed slides under the 10mm ground clearance and, with one great flip, sends the PTT newcomer over onto its back!! Just as the arm starts to slowly self-right the machine, Falchion swings its ground-hugging sword underneath Bigger Brother again!! The blade raises once again and the No.18 seed topples onto its back!! With another flip, Dave€™s entry is back in action, just as Falchion slowly tips Hammerer back onto its wheels with the sword!! Bigger Brother€™s got it tough, no doubt there!! As Frank€™s machine turns to try and scrape under the No.18 seed again, the RW5 runner-up has used its superior speed and manoeuvrability to nip around the side of the PTT newcomer!! The flipper just slides under the 3mm ground clearance and a combined flip and push rolls Falchion right over...back onto its wheels!!! :proud: As Frank€™s machine swings round once again, Hammerer takes the opportunity to ram Bigger Brother side-on with its front two wedges!! Shoving the No.18 seed into the arena wall, the arm slowly lowers in its eerie arc...down onto the RW5 runner-up!! Andy activates the electromagnet, raises the arm that little bit...and has Bigger Brother off the ground, dazed and confused!!! Swinging round, the No.18 seed under its control, Hammerer trundles down the arena and nudges Bigger Brother into the Pit Release Button!!! However, as the No.18 seed hits the tyre, Dave fires the flipper!! Combined with the hard shove given by Andy€™s machine, Bigger Brother has managed to get itself free from the magnet...and now he€™s angry!!! As Falchion heads back down the arena to help Andy out, the No.18 seed nips around to the PTT newcomer€™s side and slides under the rounded side!! One flip later and Falchion gives the audience a nice little barrel roll!!! :proud: Just as Hammerer trundles over and nudges the No.18 seed€™s side, Bigger Brother swerves away from the arm and round under Hammerer€™s side!! One flick later, and the PTT newcomer is over on its back!! The arm begins to slowly push the machine over...but Dave is after revenge!!! The No.18 seed is guided under Hammerer€™s side and Mr Sheppard shoves the newbie across the arena, pursued by the irritated Falchion!! Now smack-bang against the fence, Bigger Brother€™s flipper goes off again...now Hammerer is propped against the wall!!! Just as the wheels start trying to gain grip (and as Frank€™s machine gets ever nearer), Dave lets the No.18 seed slide under Andy€™s final entry once again!! The flipper fires...and Hammerer to toppled up, onto and over the arena barrier!!! Our final PTT3 melee has drawn to a close...with Falchion slipping under Bigger Brother and tipping it over again!!! :proud:

Ive GOT to get rid of Spunout quickly. In order to do that, Ill get the lifter tangled in the cage surrounding his robot, and prop him against the arena wall. Sorted:)

It will be a case of flipping each 20 kg part out of the arena. Remember Bigger Brothers drive can push Tornado.

Frank, get rid of SpunOut, the best place for it is against on its back.

Putting an INVERTABLE robot on its back wont help me much... Its the arena wall for him:proud:

And Bigger Brother can only push Tornado if its wedged under. Still, Ill go with the number 18 seed to toss TTTWT around like ninepins.

Predictions:

Falchion Vs SpunOut 3.0 (2): I would like to see Frank going thorugh, but I doubt it would happen because of SpunOuts superb driving skill.

Bigger Brother (18) Vs The Team That Wasn€™t There: I think that BB will flip 2 of TTTWT OOTA, but the remaining 3 will overpower it and dump it in the pit.

Nimbly shuffling out of the starting grid, Junkyard Maw heads right and over to the set of barrels in the corner!! The PTT newcomer reaches the pyramid and, with a little help from the flipping arm, sends 3 of the drums cascading to the ground!! Keeping on the move, Kody guides his machine down the arena, down to Matilda€™s patrol area!! The House Robot stands by, disc whirring angrily, but as she whirls round to give the newbie a taste of her tusks, Junkyard Maw slides under Matilda...and briskly tosses her onto her side!!! :proud: Very pleased with his work, Kody sends his machine around the toppled House Robot and gently taps the 50 Point Target!! Swinging round, Junkyard Maw leaves Matilda alone and continues down the arena...right into a charging Dead Metal!!! Not wanting him to hinder his plans, Kody activates the flipper...and casually flicks the House Robot off his front and out of the way!! Back on the run, the PTT newcomer scuttles down the arena, this time into Sir Killalot!! The Knight of the Realm tries to grab onto the flipper...but Kody€™s machine has already driven underneath the front of the House Robot!!! The flipper fires...and Sir K is flicked off the ground!!!:proud: Smacking back down on his track, the furious Knight takes a swing at Junkyard Maw...only to find that the PTT newcomer has sneaked behind the House Robot and nudged the 75 Point Target!!! :proud: Infuriated, Sir K swings round for another clash, but Kody€™s machine has already nipped away from the Knight and back into the arena!! Dodging another charge from DM, Junkyard Maw scuttles over to the other corner of the arena, to the Multi-Ball!! The shuffler nudges into the bumper and racks up 10 points as the balls cascade down to the ground!!

Both robots meet in the arena centre!! Although both bots can reach roughly the same speed, SpunOut 3.0 has the greater acceleration and also the greater traction, as the No.2 seed dashes straight into Falchion and slams the PTT newcomer right into the arena wall!! In an attempt to escape, Frank activates the lifting sword before SpunOut can get away again and slowly lifts the PTT2 runner-up off the arena floor!! Combined with a nice shove, Falchion quickly has SpunOut rolled onto its back, but, being invertible, this has little effect on the No.2 seed!! Just as Falchion lowers the sword for another attack, Tom reverses SpunOut right into the newcomer€™s side, before shoving it right across to the top of the arena, smack-bang into another fence!! By this time, the front spinning disc has been whirling for quite a while and is aching for something to tear into!! Wishing to satisfy, Tom turns SpunOut into Falchion€™s side and sinks the flywheel into the newbie€™s polycarbonate side!! Although quite thick at 6mm, the outer shell now sports a nasty dent from the disc teeth!! Just as SpunOut heads back for another ram, Falchion has time to whirl round and allow the No.2 seed to drive onto the lifting sword while dishing out another shove!! Quickly realising what he€™s done, Tom sends SpunOut shooting backwards, just as the blade begins to raise!! Lowering the sword again, Falchion swerves another attack from SpunOut, but as the newcomer tries to get away, the No.2 seed whirls round and strikes the side of Frank€™s machine a second time!! The rounded side receives another scar, as SpunOut reverses into the barrel-like surface, sending Falchion on another trip to see the fence!! Just as the No.2 seed prepares to back off for another ram, Falchion swings round and slips the sword underneath the 12mm ground clearance!! The blade starts rising up once again, but SpunOut€™s rear two wheels still have traction, as Frank€™s machine starts shoving the No.2 seed back!! Using that remaining traction, Tom sends his competitor into reverse and trundles off the sword before it can get high enough to send the rammer completely off the ground!! As the blade lowers once more, SpunOut re-revs the disc and swings round, this time, into Falchion€™s front!! The wedge gets a nasty dent as the No.2 seed escapes the sword, rising again!! Frank tries to get the blade back underneath his enemy, but the powerful rammer has once again gone rear-on into the PTT newcomer€™s side and is giving Falchion another ride across the arena!! With the newbie pinned side-on against the wall and the disc back at its lethal speed, SpunOut suddenly backs away!! Trying to manoeuvre itself away from the wall, Falchion turns to leave...but as it does, the No.2 seed shoots towards the side of the PTT newcomer, disc whirring menacingly!!! Frank tries to turn his machine round, in an attempt to lure SpunOut onto the blade again...but alas, Falchion proves that tad too slow!!! The No.2 seed smashes into the newbie€™s side, slices into the polycarbonate and gets both machines spun away from each other from the impact!!! Now bearing a fresh slice, Falchion tries to catch up with SpunOut...but only ends up going round in a circle!!! That last blow must have knocked something loose inside!!! While the No.2 seed performs a lap of victory round the arena, the rave but beaten Falchion spins ever-decreasing circles, as Refbot heads over to give the last rights!!!

Bigger Brother gets the quickest start, as The Team That Wasn€™t There quickly begins to split!! Too impatient to wait for all five parts to separate, the No.18 seed crashes straight into the disassembling Team with a powerful slam!! However, this has simply set more parts of the 5-way cluster free to attack!!! Just as Bigger Brother dodges a dash from one of the approaching members, all the Team associates are freed!! While one member shoots away to release the Pit, the other four keep the No.18 seed occupied with a gang onslaught!!! With two more dodges from a set of twins, a third member dashes right into Bigger Brother€™s side and smashes it into the arena wall!! We€™ve not seen a cluster with power that that here before!!! As Dave€™s machine is freed from the wall while the cluster piece backs for another charge, a familiar siren echoes across the arena!! Quickly swerving away from the Team member, Bigger Brother knows it has to end this fight and end it quickly!!! Just as another Team segment gives the No.18 seed a glancing blow, Dave whirls his last PTT competitor round and just under the side of the 20kg machine!! Seizing this little opportunity, Dave fires the flipper and throws the lightweight onto its back...but being invertible, little impact has been made from this attack!!! Suddenly, as Bigger Brother twirls round to take on a Team member heading for its rear, another pair of passive pests charges into the side of the No.18 seed!!! Dave tries to get his machine free, but a third Team member joins the shoving match and makes sure that Bigger Brother isn€™t going anywhere...except in the direction of the Pit!!! Dave fires the flipper in desperation, trying to use the force to €œjump€ away from the Team€™s trio!! However, all he seems to have done is wasted CO2!!! One last great shove is dealt from the three Team members and the No.18 seed tumbles into the Pit - another victim of gang warfare!!!
