Is Northamptonshire in the South Midlands area?
-
South Midlands
Yes it is along with Beds, Bucks, Herts, Oxon, and the North London area.
-
South Midlands
Stephen, does this mean you are in Northants?
Can you let me have your contact details (e-mail as above) since I dont really know who is in our region - or how to get in contact!
Thanks
Richard

Hi Richard. Were in Milton Keynes, so well certainly roll along if theres a local social. The MFLs a bit of a stretch from here on a Saturday, given that Im working till 6pm most weeks. Ive got to have a chat about moulding carbon-fibre with you too, after talking to Nick at Real Robots...
John.

Thinking about it. I did have GRCC at one point but his weapon disintegrated! Thats what you get for using a wooden snooker table leg as a full body spinner mechanism!
-
South Midlands
sounds painfull (for the table leg that is!!) lol
Richard - im interested in comming, i did have a robot years ago but doesnt exist any more, am i able to come without a bot?
-
South Midlands
No I dont think you need a robot to come along but if your building one and have an interest in how the sport is going to develop then come along
-
South Midlands
All is silence. Hey Richard! Any thoughts on dates or venues?
-
South Midlands
Perhaps we should defect to another region John?
East Anglia looks promising & fairly close..... :)
-
South Midlands
Heh. Maybe... Theres quite a lot of builders in our region though, so youd think itd be easy enough to get a few of em together. Oh, and Ill get a piccy of that ram to you shortly- I keep forgetting to take a camera with me...
-
South Midlands
yea its about time we did something
how bout the weekend before debenham im in the southern part of our region in aylesbury but im willing to find a nice pub round here
-
South Midlands
Hi Richard,
Id definitely like to attend, its about time we got this region moving. If we are looking at the 3rd April I can only make it from about 6pm, any time on the 4th is OK.
-
South Midlands
it doesnt look like Richards around here atm
would anyone object to me arranging some kind of social til Richard arranges something?
I think the 4th would be the most likely date anyone up for that?
-
South Midlands
I certainly think we ought to get things moving, April 4th is fine, how about 6:00pm.
We could meet at Xscape at Milton Keynes? Easy to find, fairly central and theres a JD Wetherspoons we can eat/drink at. Any thoughts?
-
South Midlands
O.K. By me ....Only 8 miles away.
-
South Midlands
-
South Midlands
Milton Keynes eh? Sounds like an ideal venue. Good road and rail links, nice and central, my home town... :o)
Yep, Ill be there- unusually Im not working that day, otherwise I could just stroll across, but Im only 5 minutes away in the car anyway. See you there!
-
South Midlands
So, were still up for Wetherspoons at the Xscape tomorrow then? If the pub doesnt suit or is too loud or full I can think of several others we can move on to...
John.

South Midlands
-
South Midlands
Unfortunatly we cant make it
after pushing it forward I wont be able to make an apperence
Im a bit skint atm so I need to take what I can so Ill have to take it and apologies to everyone
good luck with it
-
South Midlands
So in all of the South Midlands we have managed 3 people so far then, come on guys!!! Is it really worth it? We could have this meet in a phone box!
Is there anyone else out there in the South Midlands?
-
South Midlands
-
South Midlands
-
South Midlands
Well I still think it is worth getting together so I will be there anyway.
We clearly need to organise a recruitment drive if nothing else!
-
South Midlands
Im still here, but being 14, generally my schedule complies with my parents.
Unfortunately pubs dont like me much either.
Im by the British GP, so its about a 30min drive to MK.

South Midlands
Bit short notice I know, but only found out yesterday, that the event that I usualy have a party at (its usualy on the weekend nearest my birthday) has after 4 sucssesful years been canceled by the National Trust (it took place at Stowe gardens). So anyone up for a get together/party at the Dog and Duck Welingborough
on Sunday evening from about 5.30p.m.
Note you can bring bots/rc cars as although it is next to a Travel Inn there is an ideal site about 1/4 of a mile away where you would be able to run them.
Directions: From A45. Turn of the A45 at the Wellingborough
turn off, go past the Tescos and turn left at the roundabout.
From A509... go straight across the roundabout after passing Whitworths on the right.
I hope to put up some red background, black arrows to help.
-
South Midlands
Ok, no interest in this, so I will not go ahead with it.
-
South Midlands
Jeez its quiet in here... OK, lets have another go. Whos the regional rep these days? Kane Behemoth? Any interest in a get together before XMas?
-
South Midlands
John,
I think there is one comeing, Kane was talking about it today
-
South Midlands
Thats correct...
Watch this space.
-
South Midlands
Ah, good stuff. Cheers guys.
-
South Midlands
how bout pulling your finger out mr regional rep and actually doing what your supposed to do represent your region
I know Im going to get some snotty email about this now but Im sorry its about time our region one of the biggest in terms of people was finally gathered together
we did have a brief meeting of which only a few attended and our then regional rep didnt go either
-
South Midlands
Thanks for the nice comments craig! :-P
With the current amount of events going on it is quite difficult to find a suitable date.
My current proposal is:
Sunday 7th November
2pm
Hatfield (At a nice pub)
All are welcome
-
South Midlands
OK with me. Any other takers?
-
South Midlands
dont think thats an good reason Kane youve been our rep for more than just the time of the winter tour
is the date you prepose near in time to the next FRA committee meeting? before would be better so we can discus whats on the agenda and then u can put forth the thoughts of your region even as thats what your supposed to do
not just go on what u think as it may not be the views of your area
Sorry but it gets to me how our region the biggest (and lets face it the best) has to sit back and watch while the other regions get more involved in the discusions than we do. I could sit back and let this go as I get my opinion across as I get to be at the meetings but its not fair on the other members in our region
As it happens Im not avalible that day, when you work contract you have to take what you can
