Venue: New engineering department, Warwickshire College, Leamington.


A one day event, friendly competition format, with trophies for the individual weight category winners.
League fights and white board throughout.
The College robots will be fighting to show us how its done.

Lunch and tea and coffee provided throughout the day.

Bit of a home event really, seeing as we have an on going relationship with Warwickshire College engineering department.
Im guessing we wont get to play though :sad:

Yeah we played house robot earlier in the year..
Theyve shown quite a bit of potential in their first year.. and I believe the students are now working on a heavy as a joint project.
Not heard from them for a bit actually.. we should probably pay them a visit in the near future and see how theyre getting on..

Having an event on the premises should inspire them ay :)

yeah, they are building the heavy as we speak, which they hope to run in the event.

Plus the robots you played house bot to, and a few new ones.


Should be great fun.

You never know, you might even get the urge to come and play yourself :)

Been to Warwickshire College last week and they are very excited with regards to the event. We should go along as it is only just 3/4 mile from my house. Although we proberly cant play :-(

Will possibly be bringing along the SUMO bot again!!! This time fully automatic.

Is anyone currently planning on bringing any ants, or an ant arena to this? Its so close to me itd be a shame to miss it.

Well you wont be chasing DragonStrike around it will be the other way round. Weapon 2kg bar spinning at 4500rpm 6mm ali and 10mm poly armour. Was just putting it tthe thing toghter when i triped and broke my hand.

Hi Guys,

** Update **

This will be something different as we are going to be part of the attraction for the open day of the tech centre.
With general public wandering around the building, and able to come and see fights throughout the day, it should provide a nice relaxed format.
Pray for the usual Roaming Robots Sunshine as we are outside, but cover provided by marquees.

The college will be entering two robots, 1 heavyweight, and 1 featherweight which the students have been building as part of their course, and so we need to show them who€™s boss€¦ in the nicest possible way of course.

There are spaces left if anyone wants to join us, welcome to bring Toxic along.

Battles running throughout the day.

Apart from the odd shower it was a good day, although it would have been nice if it had been a little warmer! Scorpions new drive worked reasonably well, but needs a bit of fine tuning. Scorpion Jr. was on good form. We apolgise to Team Tilly, especialy Jes. But John did give Pushabillitilly the chance to run away, but it didnt!! Hope its repairable!!
Just one point... Oi Jonno, what happened to lunch as promised? :)

nice to see the new arena FX, the Robotica style waterfall!

It might have a bit on the damp side but a least my pitures turned out ok.

The collage robot manage to do some good fighting with only few mishaps like not tieing down the batteries!!!!!

Managed to get a few of them flying robots.

Had a good day, only my 3rd event and I
enjoyed being thrown around the arena,
even managed to keep the crowd happy with the
shattered armour that iron awe helped me with !!
Rain was refreshing, A few pics on my web site more to follow as I have time.

Was a good event shame about the rain but, Hey it made stuff interesting:)....I should prob put the covers back on my gear boxs...might stop the gears falling out of the gearboxs lol :) well done to alpha on all his wins:)

Thanks for coming...... lookslike we have lost the traditional RR sunshine. But at least it was only a few showers.

Thanks for coming, the college robots did well, and we may see the heavyweight at bristol.

Id like to know where the lunch was aswell, as i spent a fortune on the team, and that was just for tea and coffee.

I caught a glimpse of the mute replacement.... Iron Awe, nice 360s trying to selfright !!! :)

yeah lots of things need a service before bristol.... pay to drive robots, the mini pay to drive robotwars toys... arena flipper, pit, control box.... hmmm what else... oh yeah the truck....oh and one more thing....... me !!!
