Roaming Robots, Preston 29th Feb 2004
Roaming Robots, Worcester 1st Feb 2004
Name: Still Undecided
Venue: A Sports Hall
Still is discussions, depends on roboteers interest as it is early in the calendar.
With the enfaces on a show format, rather than bash your opponents to pieces. Spaces may be limited depending on interest.
Lots of opportunity for people to demonstrate what their robots can do whether crushing a bean can, or flipping a washing machine. !!!! Aswell as the normal whiteboard format.
Start of the league for feather weights, plus a new heavyweight league run in the same way if there is enough interest.
Fuel Expenses will be paid for, lunch and tea and coffee also provided through out the day.
More info to come as and when.
If there€™s enough interest then it will go ahead, please contact me ASAP.
Jonno

**Events swap in February.**
The Aberystwyth and Worcester event have now swapped place in the 2004 calendar
The Worcester one has also moved locations and will now be held in Preston.
I had a couple of choices over the location for this event, and decided it was about time we went north. Events have now been finalised, and consequently am now taking official applications for both.

Hooray for events in the North West!
Put Bob (heavyweight) down provisionally - once I get the speed controller installed I will confirm but until then give the place to someone else if you run out of room.

Roaming Robots, Preston 29th Feb 2004
Will Speak to rest of team but dont think we will miss this as we are 15 mins away. About time there was an event in the north. It does wind me up when people say events such as shefield are in the north when it takes us 2 hours of driving south to reach it.

Roaming Robots, Preston 29th Feb 2004
I live in preston and would like to come to this, but I dont have a robot - is the format a big robots/roboteers in one place, audience in another thing? Or is it possible to get into the pits etc as a non-robot-carrier?
Id like to get into the whole live events thing but until now everythings been too far away for a trip sans-bot.
Hope to see some of you there.
-
Roaming Robots, Preston 29th Feb 2004
OK having looked at the roamingrobots site it looks like if I join I get (me+2) in to this event free and wed also have access to pits, battle viewing area etc. Is that the case or have I misread something?
Cheers

Roaming Robots, Preston 29th Feb 2004
as far as im aware, you have to have a robot to join RR. Normally the public can get up to the pits, but not in them (H&S). Normally you can talk to the roboteers, and look at the robots up close. Although as this event is in a theatre, the public access may not be possible. I dunno, jonno can probably fill you in.
