I think its after 10 posts you get upgraded.
Theres several levels... if I remember rightly you hit the next one at 50 posts..

Youll probably find a few of those posts were made as tests before we launched the forum, since I was one of the team who set it up.

Then again it could just be I talk to much! :)

I think admin was just trying to make the point so as to discourage anyone from thinking itd be funny to fill the board up with rubbish.

We do have to have some rules now dont we, or itd just turn into a free for all..

well the lack of pictures make this forum one of the fastest loading forums on my pda. So I like it just the way it is. Plus the fact its not PHPBB makes it way less vunerable for spam abuse.

Discus is a PERL forum right?.. it was what Adam used on the old forum.. I ran a version of it about 5 years ago.. one of those bits of software that installs and works really well..

Searching sucks, and the fact it sees almost every thread as new, even though I read them a gaziljon times, = muchos not goodness.

Im only getting the NEW -- every now and then even when there is a new post. Is anyone else having this problem ?

I have yet to have a NEW this year

Looks like the link to the image they use for it hasnt been changed from the old server address yet, so when the forum loads up, its searching for the piccy at the old server address as opposed to the nice new one

(At least thats what I can gather from the status bar at the bottom of my browser :))

Unfortunatley the move to new server was carried out in a slightly hasty manner (not the fault of Admin I hasten to add) so a few issues might have fallen through the cracks as it were....

Will look into it and get it working ASAP
