There is a new toy on the market: cars with the frontbumper and frontwheels turning vertically like a propeller on an airplane. (There is an extra set of hind wheels at the back of that car too.)
If one builds a robot like that, does this system count as a spinning weapon or a hammer ?
I dunno, but I hope they provide you with a polycarbonate box to run it in and a removable link

No serious. It IS a serious question from a Dutch roboteer. Can nobody answer that simple question without making fun of the concept ??? Or is this forum not so good as everybody says ?
A piccy of the car might help. However, i think Ive seen it, and played with one (my cousins). I would say its a spinner, but it would be very difficult to engineer in anything bigger than a feather, as i see it doin more damage to itself than the opponent!
Id say its a low-energy spinner with an alternative ram-bot mode of operation, judging by the description. A nice idea!

The way it works on the toy its more a evasive manouver than an attack. but id call it a hammer.

Ahh, there were people selling them at the Malvern Roaming Robots event. Its a hammer, low speed RPM (relative to kinetic energy weapons).

However, if it rears up unto its ends wheely style, I can certainly see spinner potential! If you wheely up, you could then crash the spinny top down onto an opponent. Would be coool if it worked, equally would be difficult to make it work.

Actually, im planning on building a fether that stands streight up on 2 wheels. The weapon will be an axe. Its still at an early stage though.

I dont think it will be more than a showbot. Well see if I even manage to actually build it :)
it looks more like a self righter than a weapon but I guess if you can make those wheels heavy enough and solid they would do a lot of damage to a robot that has a thin shell.
