Could anybody tell me the weight and size of a piece of HDPE so that I can calculate the weight of the piece I am looking for
Can u tell me what thickness u want as we have loads here and i can work it out that way
But roughly its 1/8th the weight of steel
Or 1g/cm3
I was probably looking at about 8 -10mm to construct a chassis
See above
Justvweighed up a piece 7.5 cm dia x 69.5 cm long. It weighed up at 4.8kg
Therefore its nearer 1.45 g/ cm3
The density of HDPE can range from 0.93 to 0.97 g/cm3. Or 0.97 kg/dm3 or 970 kg/m3.
50% round up is a lot tough.
My round up was from. 97 which i got off the tables. Leo confirmed what I'd found although
He stated all tge figures. Thsts why i mentioned about not needing to be precise....
I made it 1
But upon weighing it it turned up at 1. 45
Possibly mixed up material labels?
Will re check tomorrow
.375*.375*3.14*6.95= 3.07 dm³ of volume. 1kg per dm³=3 kg, not 4.8
He means well Andy. Don't sweat it.
No worries fella. Lost in translation :)
Ve just been and checked out a certified piece of material.
The weight for a piece measuring 785×900x41 comes in at 28.4kg
Therefore the material is 1.1 g/cm3
Phewwww :)
