Just a quick update on the progress made on the robots over the past two weeks, we did not get as much completed as we hoped :(

Different thought, ACE... perhaps give it a paintjob with loads of aces on it (playing cards)
Busy busy day, solid 9 hours complete on ACE, stripped everything down to thread lock and tourque. Motors bedded in very well. Dry run and some vids in the week :)
Still think you should go with the spoiler as it would certainly add an edge! Just be careful that beaks/claws/axe's cant hook it and drag you about! Alternatively, how about DeLorian style "doors"/wings (functional or just for show) ?

Just a very quick questions guys; how much were new Bosch 750's when they were still manufactured ?
The axe for DUMBLE turned out awful, gear ratios all wrong and motor not powerful enough. :((( Time to slow down a bit and do a proper job Instead of rushing into things.

Is £198 per motor expensive for a direct replacement for the Bosch 750 GPA ? same mounts and spec.
as in a custom motor ?
No I have found a company that sells the direct replacement, I just don't know how much the old 750 gpas used to cost brand new
£120 ish + vat from memory I believe there is a whole thread on here about ellis components selling them !

£200 is a tad steep. For that amount it's almost an option to look at the F or E series from Ampflow.

Bosch 750 any day even the 400's did not match the 750
Ampflows are higher KV motors, so gearing is important.
But with the right gearration the A28-400's beat the Bosch 750 over all
, except wear of the brushes.
I have to admit, I don't like the Magmotor/Ampflows. But that's personal.
Looking at the spec sheets of the GPA750 VS the A28-400, the Ampflow motor wins is almost every category:
500 grams lighter
stall current 300 A vs 570 A
Stall Torque 18 Nm vs 26 Nm
no-load RPM 3,900 vs 4,900
Peak power output 1,800 W vs 3,400 W
Peak efficiency 84% vs 83%
As well as the performance specs, the Ampflow has a stronger case and is easier to repair. The A28 motors have dual independent windings, so they can be driven by two smaller & cheaper ESCs, a pair of Botbitz TZ85a controllers might do the job. On the downside, the brushes are a bit fragile but they are easy to replace so consider them as a consumable. As Mario mentioned, they have a higher RPM so you can gear them down more than the GPA motor and get substantially more torque at the same speed.
I have only ever used the E30 range
Fair enough; the A28 range is kinda spendy but you do get a powerful motor for your money.
