Please note, at the moment we will only be accepting heavyweight teams due to the limited pit space. There will be featherweight fights, for heavyweight teams with feathers. If featherweight only teams want to attend, you are welcome to sign up, and we'll let you know if we have space to fit you in nearer the time. They are already having to move the cafe and several loco's to get us in!

Re: Robots Live! @ National Railway Museum - 23rd/24th March
Too late hotel is fully booked, I blame all the crap that's posted on the forum and its put this thread right at the bottom and I didn't see it.

Re: Robots Live! @ National Railway Museum - 23rd/24th March
There's a few hotels in York, they're all much the same price really, I went with that one as I'm there from the Tuesday, so costs added up.
Anybody wanting to come, please make sure you have signed up for it, as we have to give all team members to the museum for security, so I'll be stopping sign ups for this on Sunday night.

It looks like heavyweight teams only due to the very limited pit space.

Re: Robots Live! @ National Railway Museum - 23rd/24th March
Looks like a brilliant venue, combines two of my favourite things and would love to have been able to come! But I'll likely be going loco on those days getting stuff ready for the following weekend. Hope the event proceeds full steam ahead (my train puns are terrible  )

Re: Robots Live! @ National Railway Museum - 23rd/24th March

Re: Robots Live! @ National Railway Museum - 23rd/24th March
Alan have you got a spare trolly for toxic as I can't fit mine in the car, or some spare floor tiles as I can bring the little trolly but its 10cm high so need an extra 30cm for height.
-
Re: Robots Live! @ National Railway Museum - 23rd/24th March
any luck with a spare trolly or floor tiles alan ??
-
Re: Robots Live! @ National Railway Museum - 23rd/24th March
I might have a spare trolley (no Guarantees!) not bringing the floor tiles, all my robots are coming (if I get them fixed) so there trolleys are being used. We'll figure something out :lame:
The roboteers email went out late Saturday night, can teams please make sure you reply to it with the names of the team members attending.

Re: Robots Live! @ National Railway Museum - 23rd/24th March
Whilst welding my flipper I've kicked the full co2 bottle onto the floor, as it went over the edge I thought f@@@@ and ran thinking it would blow up ! Luckily it landed on the screw top valve and smashed it in half, so if anyone has a spare handle that would be great !

Thanks to alan and robots live, I thought the venue was great and had a brilliant weekend, sorry i couldnt stay to help but as we were driving home into snow i wanted to get away a little earlier.
There was loads of amazing things to go and see there just wasnt enough time there !
I have a little work to do know an i need to sort out a bosch 750 a wotty and some air pipes
the motor is 1 year old aswell
you know im sure robots are more trouble than women :!:
toby drove nearly all of the 7 fights this time only giving me the controller once or twice, he would have been in all 8 but i got chuck ready and just forgot to put it in the arena  he wasnt happy !
but then he got an oota and seems he is more confident now, next he will want to drive toxic2 !

Re: Robots Live! @ National Railway Museum - 23rd/24th March
Thanks to Robots Live for a great event! Hopefully we'll be back there next year as it seemed really popular.
Most importantly all the robots are (mainly) still working. Eruption's fine, Explosion's back on top form and Annihilation has a minor drive issue, but that can't be too hard to fix.
See you all at the Gadget Show :)
-
Re: Robots Live! @ National Railway Museum - 23rd/24th March
Massive thanks to the roboteers who came and braved the weather, hope you all enjoyed it, was something abit different. Also a big thanks to Mark and Graeme who helped out with that arena, driving robots etc and the Explosion lads for helping with the get out.
The event was well received by the museum and public, with over 7'000 people attending (would of been even more if half of the country hadn't been snowed in!).
Hopefully we'll be back next year, but for now next stop is Burgess Hill in a months time, see you there!
P.S. Somebody has left a child's coat in the pits, appears to be a boys ~11yrs had some Red Nose Day stuff in the pockets, let me know if it's yours.
