I started watching Robot Wars at about 3 years old, and from then I did the standard RC-car with spikes on it business. Our first real machine (Tormenta), though, was started towards the end of 2011, when I was 15.
Think I was 14 when I did my first bot
Im 16 now and got hold of bulldog breed, god knows how I did that xD
Built 3 feathers, rebuilt one of them and an building up the chassis for a 4th. Also restored SMIDSY so it was at least workin in the most old school way possible (4QD's and Hawkers) before it was sold to fund bulldog
First actual robot was Conker... started designing it when I was 17 and finally finished it just after my 20th birthday; yes it took 3 years before I was happy and it still left the arena in bits!
I tried to build an antweight when I was about 14 but the transmitter and receiver never seemed to be able to talk so all the thing did was twitch in circles until my cat bit the arial off :(
Haha thanks guys- well done for getting such a good robot in Bulldog Breed :O i hope to build one, what would be a good starter
I was 28 when I started with Project One.
Even I dont know how I got Bulldog, luck and having cash at the right time mostly
I would say got for a feather weight, easy to build and can be done so for about £100
Some would say ant weight as they are cheaper but I find them too small and fiddly to work on, and building bigger stuff is always better
Lucky boy mattsdragon, its a fantastic machine. i joined the fb group too, ive always wanted to do this and meet with roboteers. I'm really glad my stepdads a welder lol
I might and try one after ive finished my GCSE's
Another Swan.
The brilliant animal itself swanaldo
Now we've got em in stereo !
TBH, I quite like a team of Swans.Quote:
