I know there use to an event at wicksteed park in Kettering but that stopped (never new why ?) and i'm surprised there are never any round Northampton or Cambridgeshire
maybe we should make u a list of places and see if 1 of the event organisers would take it on?
Yeh an east anglia event would be good, use to be events in Norwich, and even Ipswich and one point. And that was pretty local for me! Would be nice if there was some more. And the number of easy anglia roboteers is increasing!
I've asked this many times, EOs complain there aren't any venues.
Cambridge would do well as an arena, I know several people in the city that would love to attend an event.
I think most of us are in Suffolk?

Sadly eo's can't can't do events where it will be local to a few people its done where the audiences will fill the events so they don't loose money. We aren't going to uea in Norwich again so hopefully Milton Keynes area might be a possible place one day. Bit closer !
i know its nearer Leicester but mi dad suggested Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground, he goes there for the re enactment fairs which are held in doors so could be big enough but i'm gonna keep an eye out for some place round Cambridgeshire and list them up if any of the eo's are interested
needs to be 32m x 32m approx size, with teired seating for minimum of 500 / 750 seats.

East Anglia has a real shortage of viable venues that can support Heavyweight event business models, trust me, been there, done that !
Actually there's quite a few roboteers in this region!

Could Colchester not be revisited again or Chelmsford? I am aware there is some history concerning the venue at Colchester, but new EO, new event, someone might want to approach them again.
Aha, I have been to Suffolk events in the past and they seemed to be full. Would Cambridge university have a hall that could be used? I know the new walsey theatre has been used in the past but I hues there was little space back stage for the pits and that. The spa pavilion in Felixstowe would be much the same. I'm sure a school or university has some where that could be used. I know most high schools would have the space in sports halls. But seating would be the problem. And I think enough people would come if it was advertised enough?

will be more than happy to bring my featherweight bots to the colchester event if there still in one piece after the gsl
and are there going to be featherweights at the the european champs
ok just thought i would post with a follow up have been looking for suitable Venus and asking friends who know the area better and at the moment i can find plenty of Venus with the size requirement, and plenty of parking but the seating is the problem but i will keep looking
also i never actually found out what happened to the events at wicksteed park but my guess they were probably charging to much lol
No feathers at the European Championships, we're struggling to fit in almost 40 heavyweight robots as it is, let alone finding space to fit in feathers at the event.
It's going to be the biggest event the community has seen in a long time

Depends how well that goes. Ticket numbers are a good decider * hint hint*
