Lots of people have been telling me to start a thread so I will start one now and ask all my questions on it and my first one is what is the best thing to make a spinner out of

Steel or titanium, although you will have to ask someone else for what grade of titanium is best for a spinner (the grade of titanium is what type of titanium it is, some grades are harder but might crack and snap, and some are softer but don't crack)
try and find a local laser cutting or machining place near you that will make you a disc from a blueprint or CAD
you could try alk engineering.
look to spend about <£100 on the disc
pugster, i can cut/make you a blade if you want.
Would it be free or would I have to pay if so how much I am spending all my money building my new beetle weight BANG! So wont have any money for a whileQuote:

What am I after any think that will destroy every think
what brushless motor are you planning on using?
http://i1101.photobucket.com/albums/...9/6b9fdc00.jpg
That's the motor I want to use
Who came up with the idea of beetle weights :?: :?:
I could make you a blade to go over that brushless, do you want a bar or a blade? What diameter?
I'm waiting for the parts but I would like a bar I will tell you how big I want the blade when the parts I need get here :D thanks :p
For a beetleweight I have a bar laser cut from 10mm you can have. Got a nice set of spikes on it too. Just tell me your mum/dad is helping you with this one cos it can take your fingers clean off!! (that's not good by the way :uhoh:)
I'll talk to my mum and dad nut hopefully I can get it and how did you find out it takes your fingers of  but someone has already offerd to make me a blade so I don't know if I will need it
What is the difference between the to :?Quote:

Kenny came up with the idea of doing them in the uk. Arena isn't finished but hopefully it should be soonQuote:

Will that blade fit on my motor?
no, the bar is designed to fit directly onto a pulley. It's not good to fit the bar directly to the motor as it can break the motor. I'll count the number of teeth on the pulley for you and send you a link from technobots.
Sorry for any confusion, earlier I meant a bar or a disc. Btw, Andys laser cut bar would probably be 10x better than anything I could make :P .
I just want one that fits strait on to the motor :)
Which way is a disk more effective vertical or horizontal
Yeah but i cant use stuff that atttach to pulleys I would be happy with a streched rectangle shaped blade :mrgreen:Quote:

New question  would a 7.4v battery work with a ant weight charger
Here are the parts I'm getting
http://i1101.photobucket.com/albums/...9/02bdf96e.jpg
I Have brought the parts and the servos I got can move 7.5kg
right, since your using lipos, you need some real saftey advice,
you ask weather it will work with you ant charger, the awser NO! you antweight runs NiMH batterys this is a lipo, a much more volitle battery
you need a lipo charger and charging bag. you also cannot have the battery in the robot to charge.
be extremely careful, when lipos blow they blow big, youtube lipo fire to get what i mean.
also i can't see a brushless esc in your cart?
That's powering the blade
?
i said that i didn't see a brushless esc in you cart.
Oh
It is at the top the red motor
He means a form of speed controller. You will need a separate, brushless speed controller to control your brushless motor.
What charger should I get then.can you give me a link to the charger I should getQuote:

To power the brushless motor, and horizontal or vertical is up to you, horizontal means the chassis (frame) is smaller, and flatter, where as having it verticle is harder to make and mount, but has the advantage of being able to flip robots over also (if your having it spinning so it spins upwards)
