Stuck for a design
Next on my list of 'Things to build' is the new Knightmare. The plan was to have a flipper, in keeping with before, but then i decided i want something different to bring abit more variety to the show, so was going to build it as a axe/hammer (similar setup to thor/thz). But would like to build something abit different, i did think about a TAN style machine, but i dont want to build a copy, so i tought about that idea but vertical (so flipper/grabber, along the lines of Jawbreaker from the USA), but still not sure, can't get the shape right to fit everything in.
So i thought i would see if anybody has any ideas of something they would like so see. It doesn't have to be world beater, as long as it isn't 'fodder'.

Re: Stuck for a design
I think a crusher would be good or a flipper and axe combination like mortis
-
Re: Stuck for a design
pneumatic crusher sounds good. what about a front hinged flipper/axe combo? kinda like trax or slam job?
-
Re: Stuck for a design
double horizontal axes
-
Re: Stuck for a design
or a walker and use the extra weight to make a giant flipper/axe combo like anarchy
-
Re: Stuck for a design
Dont want a walker, needs to be reliable, plus haven't got the time to design and build one. Not keen on double weapons, its difficult to make one effective, nearly impossible with 2.

Re: Stuck for a design
Hard to think of something that's not been done. Full body flipper?
-
Re: Stuck for a design
a shunt style axe ?
the only other thing I can think of is a rambot or a hydraulic crusher

Re: Stuck for a design
You could have a go at perfecting Jonnos flax design. :)
-
Re: Stuck for a design
you could do a sort of 4 bar full body flipper

Re: Stuck for a design
Decided im going to make it a larger version of my FW Kit Bashbot ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SFeym_8y ... ature=plcp ). Gives me a big noisey hammer without the hassle of pneumatics, ideal for our Expo shows. As this will use nothing from Knightmare, i might build a simple LP flipper with that stuff, which i'll probably sell (Really can't run 4 heavyweights).

Re: Stuck for a design
If you sell, I'm after a few LP bits :)

Re: Stuck for a design
Hey Alan, wot u doin with knightmares old internals? As I have the chassis, it would b ideal for me.
-
Re: Stuck for a design
still not decided, will probably be making two heavies, then sell one later in the year, as i have a few events coming up where i need multiple bots. I've got the wheels from knightmare with sprockets attached and probably the axle and bearing blocks.
