Evening,
I was wondering if anyone has used this type of system in a bot? if so, what type.

I would say, get a 4 channel version that has a switch as a channel that could be used for a weapon and make sure its 2.4 ghz. But to be honest your better with a stick controller event a planet 5 2.4ghz for $50.00
i already have a DX6i system but i want to try something different. The only issue is finding a system which is compatible with external failsafes and a GWS mixer
Dave Moulds has used them before on 360 (drive only) and i think venom works on one too
dx3's for both of them
im gonna purchase an ansmann w5 system from the local model shop and test it out. if it don't work, it will be going back to the shop
i got an ansman 3ch one, works great
using external failsafes and a GWS mixer?
nope
what you using on yours?
scorpion xl
I've got an ansman system, came with my ansman virus 2.0 nitro buggy... I replaced it with a dx3e though...I've also got a dx3r that I use for 360, aswell as dx6, dx5 and a dx7 lol
the only issue I'm worried about is the jitter i had when i tried something similar with servos. it would seem 2.4ghz are a bit temperamental when it comes to the GWS mixer. if it does work, I'm thinking that i can reroute the channel reversing switches to a larger, single toggle switch so when the bot gets inverted, flick the switch and its back to normal
thats why i got a decent esc which had mixing inbuilt. no buggering about with extra wires.
dont get why some people are adding failsafes to their bots, just bind the rx with the trims in neutral, works for me and i use the dirt cheap £7 dsm2 rxs
the system works so I'm happy! ill look into routing the two reverse switches into one larger toggle switch although i might need some advice of the type of switch thats already there.
What reason could they be that when using servos the system works perfectly fine but when the electronizes are plugged in, the system goes mental?
Anyone got an idea why electronize ESCs won't work properly with a pistol grip system (with GWS mixer and fail safes) when it works perfectly with servos? the motors just go into full forward as soon as they are activated (checked all the trims and they are fine)
Which RX are you using for those Dave?Quote:

I have been looking through the other threads so apologies if I'm duplicating. So what i would like to know, has anyone come across a system that i can plug a pistol grip into a conventional controller or will i have to have two separate Tx Rx in the robot? i need two channels for the drive and at least four for the other bits.
cheers in advance for the help :)
I would just use two separate radio systems, in the long run, it would probably be as expensive or cheaper, and it would give you the desired amount of channels.
