Team Designated's Build Diary
So urgh yeah, spent the week waiting for my blue wheels to arrive and got down to some serious work Friday saturday and sunday. Pics with the current outcome, more work to do now that I'm back at home such as tweaking the motor mounts and wiring everything together.
First and only attempt at wiring thus far:

I have about 2kg left when everything is weighed up (internals included) so I don't know what to do with that spare 2kg xD Any ideas?
Re: Team Designated's Build Diary
just looking at your sabertooth and it has 1 wire connected to it going to the rx it should have 2 the other one going to signal 2.
Your robot is looking great atm try to beef up the armour or put lead around the wheels to make it heavier.
Re: Team Designated's Build Diary
lead?!?! noooo!!! just beef up the armour, or leve it lighter, so you have room for upgrades in the future...
Re: Team Designated's Build Diary
I have 0v 5v and S1 connected, the manual says I don't need S2 connected apparently. :?
Though my RC male connector doesn't fit in my AR600 and I just noticed, is that meant to happen?
Re: Team Designated's Build Diary
You definately need S2 connected for a robot.
Re: Team Designated's Build Diary
Might someone have a wiring diagram for it then? Plus a link to the wire I need to buy. I had no idea. :uhoh: Thanks though! :)
Re: Team Designated's Build Diary
just another servo wire.
to make the conecter fit in the spectum file the little tab on the side of the plug down, or just use a hitec plug
Re: Team Designated's Build Diary
And the servo wire is connected to what? :?
Thanks. :)
Re: Team Designated's Build Diary
i think i awnsered the wrong question.
you need 2 rc plugs coming out of your sabertooth
Re: Team Designated's Build Diary
1.put the 2 rc leads ontop of each other.
2. wire one white wire to s1
3. wire the other white wire to s2
4. wire both red wires to +5
5. wire both black wires to - (GND)

Woops, didn't notice your post above mine, we posted at the same time effectively and I never checked, thanks. :)
Re: Team Designated's Build Diary
So after a long break, I'm fully on my way to getting this bot finished
http://imgur.com/a/5xaf7
I've added a bar to the back and some aluminium cones to the sides to allow the bot to roll, and the wiring is coming along well, built the batteries a box to sit in and to allow room for cooling, and the RC module is sitting on a stage type thing to allow cool air to run over and under it. Just gotta sort out the final bits of wiring and a cover for the switch hole on the side, then it should be set to go!
Last time I checked the total came to 11.2kg but I've added on a few bits since then so I imagine it'll be around 12.5-13kg now, don't have digital scales to use unfortunately.
