Re: cutting out after a flip
What speedo does it have? We used to have a similar problem in Merlin, it would cause the Vantec to cut out or crash, it ended up being a diode that had blew on the valves. Do you have diodes across the coils on the valves? If not then its worth fitting, if you have them already check that they havent blew up! Other than that i dunno!
Re: cutting out after a flip
I agree with Alan, we had the same problem with the victors in Stagefright.Trouble is that just about everything went wrong and is still going wrong with it even now.
Re: cutting out after a flip
Calum try putting a seperate RX battery in. Savage did it a few times when i started the disk up, It was drawing so much powering the 2 speed 900s and the drive and the RX was resetting.
Might be completely different prob but worth a try eh ?
Re: cutting out after a flip
hey,
using 2 electronize controllers and its running off a seperate rx battery already.
as for the diodes across the coils in the valves im not sure, how would i check? for now anyway i could try out a spare valve that i could swap for the one in the robot to see if the problem gets cured.
if everything works with the spare valve fitted (fingers crossed) it would look like its a diode problem after all
Re: cutting out after a flip
swapped the valve over, tried it all again drove it about, fired the flipper and - dead:S
without the gas on if i fire the flipper so the solenoid clicks the robot still works but its when the flipper physically fires then its all dead
Re: cutting out after a flip
might be the shock of the pneumatics firing?
Re: cutting out after a flip
problem seems to be sorted:P your all going to laugh at me lol
theres a block of connectors at the back of the robot and for some reason a wire could happily either stay in place or remove its self, and every time the robot flips the wire comes out of the connector block- disconnecting all the power from the batteries.
with all the times i had to take the link out and put it back in again- which was what i thought i had to do to get the robot working again, the wire must have freely moved just enough back to the connector block to give the robot power again untill another flip moved the wire away again.
i think that was most likley the problem as its completly working now and its not cut out since i've properly secured the wire
what a muppet
thanks for the help anyway
Re: cutting out after a flip
I second that - what a muppet!
Just kidding of course, we've all been there. Good to hear its all working ok again
Re: cutting out after a flip
HAHAHA! Had you stripped it down completely before you realised? normally it's in bits on the table before you realise.
