No experience of doing it to a Spekky ...but I cant forsee any difference between the transmitter types.

Sam Smith has modified his for Tiberious. Sam wanted to use one of the switches on the top, but they were only two position which was no good for Tiberious - although i presume thats fine for your flipper.
If not, he got a potentiometre from one of our spare spektrums and put that on the same channel.

i plan to fit a power return but only when i need to use it so i will need a neutral position. did sam take out the left stick or just wire in the spare to the existing one?

The DX6 is basicaly a JR 6102 transmitter where the transmitting module has been replaced by a 2.4GHz board from Horizon Hobbies. All mechanics and regular electronics are just as easy to modify as if it was a 40MHz.
Th DX7 is a different storysince the conversion fro analog to digital is more interweaved than with the DX6, to get the latency down. The same is true for the JR X9303. That needs some figuring out.

i believe he swapped the two position stick for the potentiometre from a different spektrum and put that into an old transmitter.

Speaking on dx7, i have had problems in the last event, thought a BR reciever in one of the clusters was knackered, but it turns out it had lost it signal somehow with the dx7, rebound it and it worked fine for a bit then done the same again.

Apparrently it is possible to UNBIND the Spektrum.
1. On a model that is already bound and working fine, turn on the receiver as normal WITHOUT the bind plug.
2. Turn the transmitter on with the bind button held down. You can then let the button go but dont turn the transmitter off for at least 20 seconds.
3. Turn off the receiver and then the transmitter. The receiver must be turned off FIRST.
This exact sequence will cause the system to unbind. You can rebind it and everthing will be back normal.

speaking of DX7 and also binding, at leciester i had a br reciever playing up, i believe it unbound itself from the DX7 on 2 occassions, when i re-bound it, it would work fine, then it done it again later on. I found the DX7 takes alot longer than a DX6 to pair itself with a br reciever. not sure if anyone else uses a DX7. it may be a faulty receiver, not sure.
