Replacing speed 900s

im using speed 900s in 2 of my robots at the monent but apparently there being discontinued so does any one know of any motor with similar specs if not the same specs and around the same price

Where do you get these motors from Matt and for how much? I know theyre being discontinued but I might take the gamble and invest in a few for Drumroll depending on how the replacement HTIs perform

i only know of 2 palces you can get them from in the uk i brought up 1 of the shops stock today so i think only http://www.westbourne-models.comwww.westbourne-models.com have them in stock as far as i know and there £38.25 not including postage

Jamie - I may be able to get some from graupner, aslong as they have some left in stock. I got some not too long ago for Matt Davey - but they said they may run out at any time.

The Graupner site says the 900s are ‚45 atm. Those gained ‚14 since last year.

what gear ratio do people normally use with these?

Team RCC is using the Speed 900s with 2 gear ratios and different wheel sizes.

4.5-1 and 6-1. Both MSR gearboxes with KOS ali gears in/on the wheels.

But the immense torque- 1.1Nm on 12V 51amps makes that you cant get that power to the ground with a 4.5-1 gearing in a 130mm wheel.
What gives a theoretical top speed of 36km/h. Wheelspin galore. Powerslides all over.

Dont know what the average cost of Speed 900s are these days, but when I get round to buying mine I am planning on getting them from here:

At £26.59 a motor (exc P&P) its not too bad a price I dont think. But if anyone does buy any from here, make sure to leave two behind for me pleez :)

i think mario can get them cheaper not sure though
