hi,
are LiPos anygood for heavy batteries???
A) Expensive
B) Require specialised charging
C) Dangerous if damaged
D) Wont handle discharge
Kane...The word you are looking for is NO! :)
Never say no... Otherwise we wouldnt have pillow torque
Good point there Kane, but I still wouldnt fancy trying to run a heavy on LiPo for all the reasons stated above..Have you ever seen a LiPo battery fire?..I have, very pretty, unbeleaveably hot and you just cant put it out!!
We had a battery explode while on charge in the house... fortunately someone heard the pop and we managed to extinguish it.
Not a nice experience, and that was only one cell.
What batteries ar the best on the market right now then? According to everyones personal oppinions of course.
Sanyo NiCds seem to be the best choice at the moment... Just dont connect them in parallel for too long (e.g. charging, storeage).

Salt is required when dealing with LiPo fires, weve run them in ants for yearskeep them from being damaged and ur fine but cant honestly say that theres any LiPo on the market tough enough for heavyweights,

100amp cells... 200amps discharge... 2.6kg per cell... Good enough for ya ?
