Need to know if charger will charge a hawker ok
you see the 2 black contectors at the top the left one is 12v and the right on is 24v so it can charge 12v or 24v at 310amp
my dad says a 16ah hawker on boost thats 310amp it would charge the hawker in about 11 seconds as it it takes a car battery 12secs to start to boil
Need to know if charger will charge a hawker ok
would charge the hawker in about 11 seconds How hot you reckon that batterie will get!?
Ive just got my hands on some old wheel chair chargers...there 6amp chargers that i think alot of other people use, try and pick up two of those. Or you will kill your batteries.

There should be no problem charging a Hawker at that current. Their internal resistance works like a current limit and prevents them from exploding no matter what current you supply to them.
I belive 5C is the maximum current the Genesis and Odyssey will accept. They wont explode if you supply any higher, but it wont decrease the charging time.
Though the only chargers capable of delivering that amount of current is used for forklift trucks, not many other batteries will survive a current like that.
But I suspect that the charger isnt capable of delivering 310A continous, as that would pull over 32A from the mains supply if you were charging a 24V battery. My guess is that its a start booster, used for starting cars with dead batteries. Can supply 310A for a few seconds, and then charge the battery with 20A or so.

You should not charge you Hawkers with this charger. This charger got no controlled upper voltage limiter. When the voltage is above approx 14.4V the water will separate into hydrogen and oxygen. It is NOT a good thing in a sealed battery. I know about this. Please don€™t listen to the others guesses. Read the documentation from Hawker first.
If you must try this charger, please do it in a ventilated area (outdoor) and wear protective clothing.
Have Fun
