I still didn't get my e-mail....
After getting sick on solder fumes and getting a sore foot from dropping the lid on my foot, Satanix is back up and running, however my dragster is still without wheels, or a frame XD the mod has been done for the axle, now I just need to go and find some wheels to put on it, and make a polycarb wheelie bar.
See y'all in a few hours
I still haven't got the email either.
Robots are ready, dragsters done, just got the pack the car and leave.
Best of luck everyone :)
Just pluged 360 in and abit of smoke came out.. but it still works so im guessing it was un needed smoke lol.
The draw is being done on the day now guys.
Hi Tom, Alex says can you bring the rams with you please as he is building a lp f/w flipper. :D

Well done Beauty 4 and Explosion :)
Hey all
Got back at 8:30 due to a LOOOOONG queue on the A303, no reason as to why.
Well done to Explosion and Beauty 4 for winning the Tag Team title, especially for doing it after your memorable match with 360 and Savage Evo :)
Well done Beauty & Explosion, Unfortunately I was only able to attend Saturday afternoon, everybody seemed to be having a good time. Congratulations to Dave, 360 is probably one of the scariest machines in the arena and also to Robochallenge for being innovative with their powertool drag racing. It's fun!!
Look forward to being up & running better for your next event guys
Thank you all
John
Big thank you to Silverline Tools and the Coopers for putting on a great event .

We were having some problems keeping Nick's dragster in the track, beacuse the launch was so violent.
We had to add two long extension reels to the power lead for that lane, to reduce the power.
We thought that had fixed it, but didn't notice that there was a bit of wood sticking out from the side rail into the lane from where the circular saw blades had dug into the rail on a previous run. The wheels caught the piece of wood and launched the dragster out of the lane.
Thanks to everyone involved for a great weekend.
Well Done to Explosion and Beauty 4 for winning the competition- we'll get you next time though
The drag racing made a change and there were some really funny races (mostly involving Clive's drag racer  )
I'll try to get some videos of the tag teams and Drag racers online at some point. Also if anyone has a video of our sem final fght with Whirlpool & 44 Toon could you let me know.
Thanks again and well done to all the winners.
Got in the door at 2am this morning. I officially detest the M5 :x
Many thanks to the Coopers and Silverline for the organisation and hosting of this event. It was something a bit different having the robot combat mixed with the power tool drag racing but I think everyone enjoyed themselves :)
Congratulations to Beauty IV and Explosion for taking the Tag Team title! Well done also to Aftershock and Heatwave for taking 2nd place and to Little Hitter and Little Spinner for coming in 3rd. Congratulations also go to the Coopers and Team Hurtz for virtually dominating the podium positions for the power tool drag racers, and also to Darcy, Michael and Adrian of Team Invade and Gary for taking home 3rd place in the Stock, Non-destructive and Destructive racer categories respectively.
Have to say farewell to Hornet 2 that most likely saw its last event - its replacement drill-of-doom was the scariest weapon I've seen on a featherweight in a long time
Also thanks go to Dave Mould's magnet for 360, which provided many moments of hilarity on Saturday night
The spinners didn't quite reach the heady heights of Newcastle in terms of performance and reliability but some of 360's hits were amazing! Nevermind guys, next time eh?
Thanks once more to everyone involved in the weekend, was good to see you all again.
Photos and videos will be online soon.
Congrats to everyone who did so well in the drag racing, especialy John and nick, You put in alot of effort and it payed off.
Also Congradulations to explosion and beauty. You both got pretty badly messed up and repaired both machines in time to win it in style.
A big thanks to robochallenge and silverline. Both parties put in ALOT of effort to make this event happen, and it will be good to finaly see abit of robot combat back on the tv on the gadget show, Many EO's have tried and failed at doing that for years. Also.. after all that time of trying to get the dragster to start up, it all seemed worth it for a few mins of fun.
360 did its normal job of blowing itself up quite badly and costing me a few more hundred quid.. hopefully it will be working more reliably and even better then before soon enough- thanks for all the kind comments.
HI Guys,
Thankyou to the Robochallenge crew for their hard work over the weekend. Sorry i borrowed the arena without asking.. slap wrist... wont do it again !!!
Congratulations to team us ,,, Can LJs head get any bigger !! LOL Explosion is one good machine too !!
Rip Evo never lived up to potential after i realised a design flaw... if you mount a massive ram on a piece of polycarb... its not going to flip, its going to bend the bottom downwards instead. doh !! The drive is good, the ti armour is good, and the 3.2mm hardox is very good !! It'll be back with a bit of development and a nice 3mm ti base plate. !!
Wasnt a good event for the spinners i dont think, never lived up again... although 360 is one nasty machine.. i think dave is just unlucky with how it bouces everytime !! Keep on going though !!
John
Thanks to Grant and all involved to make the event go as smoothly as it did. Sorry I couldn't get more involved with the indoor stuff and the robots, there were a lot of our team to organise on the day!!
Well done to all who won, it really was a cracking event to be a part of, I'm sure you'll agree.
(Small note to Grant - have you got any detailed time sheets you could let me have or post here please? - Cheers!)
Thanks to everybody connected with Robochallenge and Silverline for the weekend.
Congratulations to Michael with Explosion and John Lear,Jonno,John Bell and any body else who might have driven or helped operate Beauty 4.(more pit crew than Ferrari  ).Well done to all of the winners of the 4 classes of Power tool dragracers, i have to admit that i enjoyed it far more than i thought that i would.
Highlights of the weekend; David Westons face trying to get the magnet from 360 off of Satanix. The very graphic description from one roboteer of how he managed to get washed with a tea cup. :uhoh: The massive roar of support for Alex when he set a new track record for the modified dragsters of 64.45 seconds. :proud: Thanks guys.
Will we be going again next year? When we got home at 12.30 last night after 7 hours on the road no.When i got home from work tonight unloaded the car and checked the robots over for damage( Stagefright: blown mixer, burnt out batteries victors flapping around.Tiny Toon blown victor cooling fan, wheel hanging off, gouges from Drumroll and Savage Evo. 4 4 Toon paint scratched by Little Hitter. Yes we will be back, trying to improve on our time.
This event was awesome!
highlights -
- watching 360 throw itself around
- finding out that whilst my reaction times suck, it doesn't matter if you have more grip than anyone on the track
- having hornet 2 killed off by a wooden robot after it mashed up titanium, hardox, ali etc etc. As Jamie said hornet 2 is now retired from competition. I'm going to rebuild it at some point and possibly throw it into whiteboards for fun but I'm now going to focus on my new machine.
- Ladies and gentlemen of the forum, I would like to propose a game of 21......
- Pulling donuts on the field at late o clock and then having John Reid trying to wake me up with a wheelspin when I wasn't in my tent :P
- Watching various parts of dragsters fly all over the place
- Returning home with a new wine glass
Thanks to robochallenge and silverline for such an awesome event. I can't wait for the next one!
That stupid game kept me up all night on Saturday, tried to sleep and all I could hear was your drumming and saying
'Ladies and gentlemen of the drinking circle, I propose a game of 21, Its a good game, its a fast game, its a fast game its a good game..' and then whichever direction it was going and John Lear drunkenly getting it wrong :P
Still looking into whats wrong with my robots controller.
sounds like i missed a good event! Jonno! it would be on my signature but i have 2 many characters! so kane change that please :)
dave we will have a proper 1 on 1 one day! with our link in tight with lots of tape!
my dad also blames his drunkness on a dodgey burger
and im off to leeds so wont see you all til wigan! unless clive wants to pick me up on the way to events :P
LJ phone me can be arranged. :)
Dodgy burger my hairy a**e   The trouble we had stopping him going clubbing with Ken .
Food was superb best at any event, specially the first sitting of lunch on Sunday, you know who you all are.

I've got a video of the final - will be a couple of days probably before I get it uploaded.
Also, is anyone missing a hacksaw? Its a Draper one and its almost identical to mine (probably why my dad packed it away). I won't be at any event for a while, so if someone is missing theirs and thinks this is it, I'll arrange to get it posted to you. I'll even give you a new blade with it :)
Pictures are up: http://s31.photobucket.com/albums/c367/ ... ps%202009/
Just got back home 5 mins ago. Was a good weekend, savage evo broke itself every round. Thanks Robo Challenge and Silverline for a great event. Thanks to the Coopers for the lunch this afternoon, well yesterday afternoon now cos its already tuesday, set off friday got back tuesday, long weekend eh?
Well happy that the robo challenge bike got going and was pretty quick. Shame about my bike, Broke a clutch then the throttle cable, I probably shouldnt have been messing about on it on saturday then it might have worked better sunday.
Shower and bed now I think.
Some photos of the dragsters:

Hey Guys,
This event was a little bit different to our usual events, combining both robots and dragracing over 1 weekend.
I hope you guys enjoyed this event as much as we did!
360's fight was my favourite of the weekend, sadly the Gadget show werent around to film it but overall the Robot side of it went down very well with Silverline. The Drag Racing has progressed massively this year, and I'm glad we managed to give you guys the opportunity to race along side us and almost beat us :proud: Better luck next year!
I was Impressed with some of your entries, especially Alan's, Micheal Oates's, and Garys to name a few. Well done guys and awesome attepts!
Thankyou firstly to Tom and Paul for stopping behind on sunday and helping us pack away all day monday - Your help is much appreciated!
Also, thankyou to everyone who helped out getting my Drag bike running - Mainly to Sam Smith, Kenny, Wayne and everyone else! Without you guys being able to put the time in whilst I had to help running all the Indoor systems we wouldnt have beaten the Gadget show - That effort is massively appreciated!
With all the work that went into it the 10 days or so before the event, and all the problems that accured it's amasing it held out for just enough races to claim 3rd place and hopefully appear on the Gadget show shortly (hopefully with some footage of the robots!)
Sam and Kenny, When i get it going again with new engines i'll let you have a go - I couldnt let it run whilst the indoor racing was going on because of safety aspects - sorry if i sounded abit harsh but its our neck on the line if anything went wrong!
Has John Lear recovered from his burger poisoning yet?
All in all, A fun weekend with Robots, Drag Racing and a little bit of helicopter/plane flying mixed in!
interesting event shame that my batteries were rubbish
thanks to robo challenge and everyone who set the event up
also thanks to Jonno for allowing me to drive Rip evo-i am avaiable to drive it again if you think i am good enough
we have the details of a gadget show camera guy and will be sending the 360 fight into them they might use it
thanks alex
only just ;(Quote:

which 360 fight did u like ?
It was a great event! Many thanks to Robo Challenge and to Silverline for sponsoring it. The mixture of robots and power tool racing was outstanding. I trust the first person to find out when it will be on the gadget show will post here to let us know.
Garry said: - having hornet 2 killed off by a wooden robot after it mashed up titanium, hardox, ali etc etc. As Jamie said hornet 2 is now retired from competition. I'm going to rebuild it at some point and possibly throw it into whiteboards for fun but I'm now going to focus on my new machine.
The wooden robot (really wood, mild steel and ali) is doing fine and I look forward to a match with your new machine.
John L - The 360 fight posted above with video - excellent example of full combat! Things like that are what makes building our arena worthwhile.
John Frizell - Thankyou for the comments, very happy you enjoyed the mixture of robots and drag racing as much as we did.
Does anyone have any pics/vids of my Chainsaw drag bike in action? I would like to make up a video of it to put up on you-tube.
Ive got some Grant.
We've all known for a while that 360's setting the standard for spinners in terms of destructability and in-arena performance (or acrobatics, whichever the case may be ) and having watched its fights again, I reckon that's the level of noise, carnage and fear-inducing fighting that should be in every spinner fight.
I know Gary's new spinner is on the way, 360's constantly undergoing improvements and Tom's got another spinner in the pipeline so to keep up this consistency and try to bring a win to the spinners, I'm going to spend some time redesigning Drumroll for version 2 with full brushless and lithum fitting out combined with reliability and effectiveness
Let's take this thing to the next level :proud:
