D.V.D: THE THRID (Death Via Drum)
€ WEIGHT: 100kg
€ ARMOUR: 5mm Hardox body and 7mm Titanium wedges.
€ SHAPE: An invertible parallelogram shape ( /===/) with triangular sides and rear, slanted like this and the rear like this: . The wedges are hindged at 30*, making it very easy to get under anything.
€ MOTORS: 2 x LEM130€™s at 36V = 18HP
€ LOCOMOTION: 4 Vulcanised Wheels with Aluminium 2 spoke hubs.
€ DIMENSIONS: (L) 90CM (H) 20CM (W) 90CM
€ COLOUR: White for the drums, black for the body and teeth of the drums..
€ WEAPONRY: 2 x 15kg Titanium drums with bluntened Hardox teeth, one in the front wedge, the second in the rear wedge. Both the drums are connected by a chain-and-gear mechanism, so when the front one spins, so does the rear, and they spin upwards. Both drums are powered by 2 x LEM130s at 36V, allowing a maximum speed of 3600rpm. Both drums have an output of 32.5kj each, and the wedges on the front and rear have an extension plate, allowing them to get under the opposing robot, and drum the bottoms. The power also means that I can pudh other around the ring as well. 1 Inch of PU Foam in the front and back mean that the robot wont shock-kill itself, or get shock-killed. The insides are also strapped and bolted down with Tool Steel bolts.

Given youre making a rammer, Id use LEM130s at 36V, as they weigh only 1kg more than a Bosch, but they have 9 times more power per motor.

Way too thick, though you may get away with 7mm titanium all over, which successful vapours like FOTW and BTRIII do.

I dont understand how it can have an angled rear and be a paralellogram

Paul,
8 * 8 * 0.14 * 4.5= 40.32 kg for the top and bottom plate.
The sides, without the angle is 8 * 2 * 0.14 * 4.5 = 10.08 kg, but that will be more because of the angles.
So on armour alone you are already on 50kg.
That, coupled with 4 wheels, 4 motors, all the mounts, gears, chains, and batteries, I dont see how this could be below 100kg if 30kg of it is already for the drums.

Jack, can you place your stats of Boxx again with all the changes please? It is getting confusing for us if you only post the changes. I think it is best if we focus on Boxx first and on Pic-Axe after we smooth Boxx out.

You also dont have any weapons at all now, of course this is your choice and you dont have to, but even some small spikes will cause minor scatches which could tip a close judges decision in your favour.

Jack, if you have a wedge at the front say in the shape:
Box wedge/Box with a wedge at the front
LEM-130s would work well at 36v and give you 18HP, also you could go a lot faster than 11mph with them

I agree with what Alex and Liam have said. I also would like to add:
36V on A123 is tricky since A123 cells do not work in increments of 12V as the other cells do (1 cell of A123 is 3.3V). The closest you get is 36.3V (11 cells). 6 packs of 11 cells weigh about 5kg including everything. That will be plenty for your robot.
10 mm polycarb is very weak for the sides. It is very lightweight, but vapourbot spinners punch through that like a fist through a sheet of wet newspaper.
I would suggest to make the whole robot Ti, so top, bottom, back, the lot. What thickness I leave up to you.

Not quite thaty easily Leo, besides, you dont get explosions of sharp shards from a wet newspaper lol.
Anyway, Jack: Your armour distribution is still rather odd. Remember, the top is probably where you need least armour, because you only have to worry about axes and crushers really. The back is second least, front is most and sides second most.
Id personally go with something like...
Front: 7mm titanium
Top: 30mm polycarb
Back/sides: 5mm titaniumm
Can I also add suggest, mention the wedge in the shape too because itll get missed where it is.
For the spikes you probably want just a solid spike of whatever material, unless you mean a rolled spike? (eg like rolling up a sheet of paper into a spike, but with metal?)

The M40 cannot supply 14 tonnes of force on 2500PSI anyway. the bore of that ram is 40mm so at 172Bar (2500psi) gives 21893.30214 Newtons of force. Thats about 2234 kg or 2.23 Tonnes of force. To achieve 14 tonnes of force on a 40mm bore ram you would need 16170 PSI of pressure.

I wouldnt exactly call the beak of Tiberius 2D. What would be 3D then?
Last time I checked Vivoil or any other pump for that matter need a motor to work them, unless you have very well trained squirrels. :)
In any case, 2 battery packs would not be sufficient to run 2 S28-400s and the motor for the pump.

Our house robots are Cassius Chrome and Shunt
3-2-1 Activate
cROokED charges at Hector, and starts pushing him towards the wall, Hector activates his claws and makes some nice big holes in cROokED, who now fires his flipper and Hector goes over the top of cROokED and is now dragging him towards the Drop Zone
Crash!!!
Ouch, that has got to hurt, that was a 50KG Fridge, but only small dents are visable on cROokED, who is now being pushed towards Shunt
Smash! Crash! Crunch!
multiple hits from Shunt there, wait.. is that smoke, IT IS SMOKE!!, cROokED is on fire!, and there appears to be a small red box on the floor, ITS A BATTERY!, Hector now backs off and comes in again, but cROokED has fired his flipper, BUT TOO EARLY!, Hector is closing the jaws
Bang!
The ram has exploded, cROokED is weaponless!, Hector now pushing the lifeless corpse of cROokED, towards the pit, it on the pit, and Hector pushes the pit button, its all over, bye bye cROokED
Cease!
cROokED needs staightening
