Frank- the image you said in the stats for The 6isc in Vapourbot Images is an image of the Disc 5. I dont know the shape of 6isc, could you describe it or do a render? Sorry to be a pain, but I need it for the next heat.
I should imagine its the same shape - thats what I used in my tournaments anyway.
I dont really get the image- it looks like 2 discs to me, but the stats say one...
As I understand it, its Tridents (series 3) wheel arrangement inside two spiky sphere things, connected by a bar with a disc in the middle of the bar...its not a very good picture :proud:
Thats a bit better, thanks Joey.
Storm II v Tempest Evil-est-oution: Last chance to win a heat (I dont believe that Terrorhurtz stands much of a chance) and I get placed with the runner-up of one of the biggest tornuments this year. Thanks a bunch. I dislike facing Franks robot becuase they are well thought out, and also Frank is the best strategist on the forum, but I have a plan which involves bouncing Tempest (like everyone does :proud:) but Ill ram in with my REAR armour - so if I take damage, it wont be so costly, and if he spins me, should should end up facing forward, and
since at this point he should spin slower, itll be less dangerous to attack with the front - and then after I get under him, push him against the wall and lift him onto his side and pin him on the wall, as due to the shape of his body, hell be pinned there. If Im wrong and its Tempest Evil-er-lution am thinking of, just stack him on the wall in a position he cant escape from.
Good luck Frank ...but you possibly dont need it
Killotine: Evo v Super Gore Evo: Ill side along with the almighty Killotine to take down those tracks.
Awesome fights Liam.
Joey is right on both counts, The 6isk has the exact same shape as The Disc 5, and it is two triangular wheel set-ups in two spherical spikey things connected by a bar.
I think the reason you think it has two disks is because the disc is fairly thick. The two lines representing the disc are connected at the top and bottom though.
Tactics for Tempest are to let him hit me with his rear. Its flatter than the front end, so its a nice shape for me to hit, and also thinner armoured than the front so hell take more damage.
If, Im right in suspecting hell change his tactics after reading that, my altered plan is to dodge his box rushing for the couple of seconds Ill need to charge up, and hit his sides. A frontal strike is still cool with me, but going for the weaker areas just makes sense.
I would give more tactics for my fights, but this tournament is moving so fast I cant keep up:sad:
Thkanks for the shape Frank, and Ill probably slow down, if not in this tourney then definatly my next.
I wasnt hinting at you to slow down, my current job is partially to blame as I tend to be in bed when youre writing fights:)
Im not changing my tactics, but when I said about the rear not being so costly, I meant its harder to hit the rear of anothe robot than the front, and thats what I meant.
Ah, brilliant, Super Gore Evo gets through and Micro-Gore gets 3rd place. :proud:
Storm II vs. Tempest Evil-est-oution
Bye, Storm.
Killotine: EVO vs. Super Gore Evo
Why do I keep getting drawn against Steve? :lame:
Anyway, that axe looks like it has the same potency as Axe to Falls, so Im not TOO worried about it, just keep the tracks away. Killotine is also quite the blowhard in the drivetrain department, but pushing away a bot with equal power and urethane-coated tracks? Doubtful. Go head-on into the front end and grab the sucker, so that the axe will only be hitting between the tracks, right onto the armour thats made to withstand it. After that, pit time. :proud: Of course, keep him away from the sides/rear, and pour on the pressure.
Yeah, Liam, this tourneys going a little too fast. :proud:
Similar tactics to the last fight. Aim for the sides, hammer the tracks (fingers crossed I can actually break em), grapple n pit.
Oh and try not to get pushed in myself. :lame:
Heat Semi-Final 13/16:
Storm II v Tempest Evil-est-oution
Storm II is the reigning robot wars world champion, having beaten off fantastic robots like Ansgar 3, Tornado, Tough as Nails and Supernova in the last ever episode of the all time best T.V show ever, Robot Wars.
Ring spinners seem to be making up half of the vapour numbers. Already this series we€™ve had Pure Evil: ROTD, MeCannibal 2.0 and Whirligig 4.5 among others that I can€™t remember!
Booth 1: Paul Cuomo
Booth 2: Frank Goacher
5, 4, 3, 2, 1, SMASH!!
Tempest immediately starts spinning up, and Paul turns Storm II around to do a box-rush with the rear end! It€™s a strange move, and doesn€™t really pay off as Frank dodges the box-rush and then attacks Storm€™s rear armour, slicing it like ribbons! Paul however ploughs on and reverses onto Tempest so that Frank stops spinning and is a sitting duck as Storm II pushes him across the arena and into the pit release button! Now Paul quickly turns around and lifts Tempest into the air, and now Storm tries to stack it on the wall! But it falls off the lifter and Frank hurries away to spin up again! Paulo follows, but when he slams into Frank with that rear armour again the panel is torn right off and now the workings are exposed! Paul quickly turns around and comes back on the attack, and lifts Tempest into the air again, now pushing it towards the pit! This a massive turn around by Paul , and when right next to the chasm he pulls the lifter back down so that Tempest is resting on his wedge and now delivers the final shove that will finish Tempest Evil-est-oution€™s hopes of becoming the heavyweight Robot SMASH!! Champion!
STORM II DELIVERS THAT SHOVE AND GOES TO THE HEAT FINAL!
A tough fight for Paul, but he€™s through as Tempest is pitted in a puff of smoke!
Coming Next:
Killotine: EVO v Super Gore Evo
+1>OMG! Ive taken out Tempest! This unheard of! Good fight Liam.
Heat Semi-Final 14/16:
Killotine: EVO v Super Gore Evo
Steven€™s middleweight robot- Killoteeny- was eliminated in the first round of the middleweight championship. Killotine: EVO is the big daddy heavyweight, and proved its worth by obliterating Gravity in the eliminator.
Super Gore has been through many incarnations. It€™s had wheels and it used to have a disc, but Kody has swapped everything around for Super Gore€™s evolution and this is once again a horizontal crusher robot, but now it has tracks for extra grip and traction.
Booth 1: Steven McGregor
Booth 2: Kody Kunz
5, 4, 3, 2, 1, SMASH!!
Both robots get off to a quick start, but it€™s Killotine that gets the first attack in as Steven manages to avoid Kody€™s claws and rams SGE from the side! He then brings that monstrous axe down onto SGE, and pierces the right track! Steven rams SGE into the angle grinder, and then attempts to pull his axe out of the track, but it€™s stuck and he momentarily lifts Kody into the air! But on that moment SGE falls back to earth and escapes! Kody comes around the side of Killotine and rams Steven into the wall, but Killotine turns and gets his front plough under SGE to once again ram it, this time for the full length of the arena! And once again that dangerous axe comes down, again sticking in that same track! Steven holds on hard and now pushes Kody into the pit release button! The siren wails, and the pit is lowered. SGE struggles against its captive, but Steven is merciless and now drags SGE over the chasm so that one track is over thin air! He now tries to pull his axe out of the track and lifts SGE off the ground for a moment again, and when Kody falls off he manages to get away from the pit! He quickly swerves around and gets his claws around the fast retreating Killotine, and now pulls Steven into the gaping hole!
KILLOTINE: EVO BITES THE DUST!
Killotine: EVO has devolved beyond Super Gore Evo, who progresses to the heat final!
Coming Next: The middleweight play-off
Doorstop v T-Minus
Special Event- Middleweight Play-off
Doorstop v T-Minus
Doorstop defeated the powerful Steel Sandwich in the heat, and then was disposed of by Life in a close match that went to the judges. Life ran out of co2 for its flipper, but Doorstop was door stopped.
T-Minus is a previous winner of the Battlebots middleweight title. It has a powerful flipper, and when inverted performs a 540 degree flip to right itself!
Booth 1: Frank Goacher
Booth 2: Martijn M Benschop
5, 4, 3, 2, 1, SMASH!!
Doorstop has a very quick start, getting round to the side of T-Minus to attempt a push, but Martijn is quick and turns to meet the onslaught! Frank drives straight onto the flipper and T-Minus drives Doorstop across the arena and gives it some airtime right near the corner!
FLIP!
Doorstop somersaults through the air and falls over the barrier in a rather graceful arc, coming to rest with a ripple of macrolon!
ANOTHER MW MATCH HAS A PREMATURE END!!
T-Minus gets the bronze medal, (and in the immortal words of Anne Robinson) Doorstop, you leave with nothing.
Coming Next: The Heat G Final
Storm II v Super Gore: EVO
w00t again! :proud:
Storm II v Super Gore Evo
Oh bleep... Well since it is Pauls last chance to win a heat, this may already be fixed against me but still I shall post some tactics...
Clamping claws. Get him from around the side and see if I can clamp the front and back ends. His side panels are sloped so this makes things difficult. Hopefully, though, the plow around the claws will stop him getting the front.
Seriously, though, if SGE wins this, I will laugh my ass off. :proud:
Im just glad I didnt get Killotine, as even I believe that it would wipe Storms arse  - both me and Kody have written fights between Storm and Killotine...I think you can guess which way they both went :proud:
Anyway - tactics: We both have the same power, and if one of us has an advantage, we can both finish each other off. That said, Id rather NOT attack his front, due to his weight and traction advantage. So Ill go for his claws, and so Ill push underneath one of those claws so he wont have much traction, then push him down the pit, which Ill open at the start of the fight.
Good luck Kody  (By the way, it possibly wont be fixed, as last time, MeCannibal was in the last heat, and it lost in the first round...to Super Gore Evo )
quote:
By the way, it possibly wont be fixed, as last time, MeCannibal was in the last heat, and it lost in the first round...to Super Gore Evo
Proves my point even more. Since you STILL havent won a heat, do you really expect to be left out THIS time? :proud:
I swear to god I wont fix it. If I do youll know because everyone else will break down and Ming will win the next heat:proud:
Seriously though, if Paul wins it will be genuine. I promise not to fix it so all the finalists are different people.
Im actually looking forward to Ming vs. Darke Destroyer, just to see what will end up happening :proud:
Im looking forward to writing it!
I know you entered the series 3 version Joey, but have you seen DD in RW4? It had an even more useless weapon!
Seen as both Paul and Kody have posted tactics I might post the Heat G final tonight so I can get on with Ming v DD...Cackle!
I know, I cant actually remember it that well but I seem to recall it had...two wiggly things. At least the S3 version had a weapon that looked like it could conceivably cause damage, and I liked it anyway :proud:
It series 3 heat was on the other day, It did do a fair bit of damage in round one whatever Phillippa says!
Heat G Final:
Storm II v Super Gore Evo
How did these two make it this far?
1)Storm II flipped Haardvark around, eventually pitting it.
2)Super Gore Evo took damage from Axe to Fall, but eventually Martijn was left chasing his tail.
3)Storm II took on Tempest Evil-est-oution, and surprised us all by pitting the FBS.
4)Super Gore had another tough encounter with an axe, this time the axe of Killotine: EVO, which pierced its tracks. But Kody turned the fight around and pitted Killotine to get through.
Booth 1: Paul Cuomo
Booth 2: Kody Kunz
5, 4, 3, 2, 1, SMASH!!
Storm II goes off like a bullet out of a gun and speeds across the arena into the pit release button! Super Gore follows cautiously and Kody tries to grab Storm from the side, and although the clamping claws get a hold one of them was on Storm€™s lifter and Paul lifts SGE into the air, and now carefully carries it towards the pit! When they€™re near the edge Paul retracts the lifter so that SGE is on top of him and reverses carefully so that one of Kody€™s tracks go over the side of the chasm! Some more careful manoeuvring and SGE is playing with death, balancing precariously on the edge! Paul smiles, drives away, teasing the worrying Kody and comes back in! He gets underneath and stylishly uses the lifter to tip SGE in!
THE PENULTIMATE HEAT ENDS!
Storm II goes through to the finals, Super Gore Evo should make way for Super Gore Revo.
Coming Next: The opening eliminator of the final heat
The Darke Destroyer v Ming Die-Nasty
My revised tactics:
Either try and get it to drive in the pit, or failing that, spin up and use my awesome weaponry to utterly annihilate the loose bits of Mings paintwork. If Im lucky, I might even be able to take off...
Nice new tactics. Here you go!
Eliminator 29/32:
The Darke Destroyer v Ming Die-Nasty
The Darke Destroyer was a competitor in RW3 and 4. This is the RW3 version, with that large blade that did do some damage to Sgt. Meikle, but proved useless against tougher materials. It reached the heat final, beating T II on a controversial JD in round 2, but they were flipped and immobilised by Gravedigger in the heat final.
Ming Die-Nasty is also an RW competitor, and like the Darke Destroyer its former incarnation made an appearance in RW3. They were even in the same heat! However it enjoyed less success and was eliminated in the opening round of the tournament by the powerful Mortis. They too returned in RW4 with a new robot, and Ming II was more successful using the front hinged flipper to overthrow Diotoir in round one, but they broke down in round 2 while facing The Morgue. Unlike their opponents in this battle they appeared in all the series that followed excluding extreme 2, in extreme 1, RW5 and 6 with Ming III (a Razer-esque design that was beaten in the early rounds by Terrorhurtz and Supernova respectively) and then in RW7 in this form, Ming Die-Nasty. It€™s actually a bit of a comedown from the previous robot, with a drill replacing the crusher. It was seeded 15 in RW7, but was beaten for the third time in the opening round, this time by Scraptosaur and Ceros.
Booth 1: Joey McConnell
Booth 2: Mark Elam
5, 4, 3, 2, 1, SMASH!!
Another match gets underway, and Joey heads straight for the pit release tyre, then taking advantage of his wide turning circle to manoeuvre right in front of the pit! Mark comes in with the drill spinning and attempts to nudge his opponent, but The Darke Destroyer dodges out of the way! Ming almost goes in, but keeps his balance and drives after The Darke Destroyer, whose blade hits Ming and stops, having folded itself and caused no damage whatsoever! Ming pushes The Darke Destroyer into the corner, his own weaponry proving equally useless! But now Mark has Joey in the corner, and up comes the spike! The Darke Destroyer is lifted, but lands the right way up and escapes! Ming follows and this time manages to get the drill in under the side of Joey€™s realie! Mark tries a lift, but The Darke Destroyer falls off and so Mark just pushes it across the arena and finally down into the pit!
MARK€™S FIRST WIN IN THIS TOURNAMENT!
Ming Die-Nasty goes through as The Darke Destroyer is destroyed in a Darke manner!

The 6isc v Wedginator 6.0
(Message edited by Robot_Warrior on April 25, 2008)
Note to self: Foregone conclusions no longer exist. For next time, use larger blades, and a scarier face. :proud:
It was fixed, I tells ya! I KNEW IT! MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!! *runs off laughing hysterically* :proud:
The 6isc vs. Wedginator 6.0
Tactics posted...not that theyll be much good though.
Tactics for whoever i face:
ill give my tactics once i improve Mings reliability.
quote:
ill give my tactics once i improve Mings reliability.
You cant improve its reliability, its up to the writer to determine that. :P
WOOT! Ive won a heat, not with a vapour, but its a heat win nonetheless! This is also my first heat win on the forum, which is AWESOME!
Great fight Liam, and not becuase I won.
Eliminator 30/32:
The 6isc v Wedginator 6.0
The 6isc is a very original machine with a fairly powerful spinning disc with the teeth shaped on the disc instead of surgically attached. Go to the vapourbot images thread to see the CAD, its a very strange shape!
Wedginator 6.0 is an all around flipper, but due to the armour being heavy it can only toss about 175kg. But thats more than enough to deal with The 6isc, or so Kody hopes anyway!
Booth 1: Frank Goacher
Booth 2: Kody Kunz
5,4,3,2,1, SMASH!!
The 6isc starts spinning up, while Kody comes straight in, gets underneath and pushes Frank into the arena wall! The paintwork on Wedginator is ruined (sob), but the 6isc wasnt at full speed so Kody didnt take any real damage and now continues his onslaught, pushing Frank up against the pit release tyre and flipping! Frank wobbles on his wheel protectors for a moment, then crashes to the ground and attacks the side of Wedginator, spinning Kody away! But again no real damage seems to have been caused and Wedginator comes back in and pushes the 6isc back into the corner, where it is turned over by the spike! And Kody rushes in underneath and rams Frank into the wall, now fires the flipper! The 6isc goes sideways and three wheels are now over the wall, the other three on the arena floor, and they turn so that Frank falls back into the arena, but Kody comes on an another onslaught and flips the 6isc again, and this time Frank is on the rails, struggling to get back in! But Kody holds the flipper up and pushes, not letting Frank get back in! Eventually The 6isc falls OOTA!
ANOTHER SURPRISE IN THIS HEAT!
The 6isc is eliminated! Wedginator 6.0 goes through!
Coming Next:
Razer v Terrorhurtz
(Message edited by Robot_Warrior on April 26, 2008)
Wha...
OMG I BEAT t3h 61$c :proud:
Didnt see that coming. :proud:
Eliminator 31/32:
Razer v Terrorhurtz
Razer is a two-time world champion and one-time UK champion of Robot Wars. The design, very original when it first appeared in the second wars has now been copied by many and is a household weapon.
Terrorhurtz also made its first appearance in the second wars, but in its former incarnation, Killerhurtz. Terrorhurtz actually lost to Razer in the grand final of RW6, and lost.
Booth 1: Martijn M Benschop
Booth 2: Paul Cuomo
5, 4, 3, 2, 1, SMASH!!
Razer immediately gets off into the arena quickly, skidding around and going straight for Terrorhurtz! Paul tries to get around the side of Razer and does so, pushing Martijn and hammering the crusher! But Martijn turns around and gets underneath Terrorhurtz, which still flailing the axe all over the place to no avail. Razer sinks the crusher through the armour and into the electronics, and through Terrorhurtz€™s transparent lexan we can see something get demolished! I think that was the speed controller! Now Razer lifts THZ up into the air and roasts him on the flame pit before Paul falls off the crusher! He can€™t get away though and Razer pierces the exterior of THZ again, this time puncturing the co2 canister! Gas vents from Terrorhurtz and Razer malevolently takes Paul over the to the floor flipper, and sets him down.
FLIP!
Terrorhurtz flies through the air and lands upside down in a crumpled heap, and without the axe he can€™t self-right even if his wheels would turn, which I doubt.
5, 4, 3, 2, 1, IMMOBILE!
Terrorhurtz is down and out; Razer goes through to the heat semi-finals!
Coming Next: The very last eliminator of Robot SMASH!!
Wedge Devolution v Woodpecker
This could be tricky. Aim for the rear, flip it over, get back underneath before it can drive away n right itself and try to get it out that arena.
Eliminator 32/32:
Wedge Devolution v Woodpecker
Wedge Devolution has fought in many tournaments, including some of the best ever like VFT, winning one of them (I think). It fought in ETC08, but was defeated in the second round by Super Gore Evo.
Woodpecker has interchangeable weaponry, Daniel can choose between a flipper and an axe. For this match Daniel has chosen the axe.
Booth 1: Steven McGregor
Booth 2: Daniel Stickler
5,4,3,2,1, SMASH!!
The last eliminator gets underway! Wedge Devo is first off the mark, scooting off around the arena and trying to get around the rear to attack. But Daniel is quicker and slams Wedge Devo from the side, hammering down on that top armour with amazing speed! But Steven escapes and not much damage was inflicted, and on his second attempt Steven is successful in getting in behind Woodpecker, easily getting the flipper in and giving Daniel some airtime! Woodpecker flies over onto its back, and self-right quickly, but Wedge Devo was ready and got behind so that Steven can now flip it again! Over goes Daniel, and Wedge Devo carries on attacking so when Woodpecker slef-rights it lands on the Wedge, and when it does Steven flips it! This happens over and over, and Woodpecker is getting wrecked! But Daniel doesnt give up and continues to keep self-righting and finally there was a wonky flip from Wedge Devo and Woodpecker escapes, to come back on the attack and once again ram Wedge Devo from the side and come down with that axe! He pushes Steven up against the angle grinder, but Steven escapes, pulls around gets underneath and stacks Woodpecker on the wall! Daniel fires the axe again and again in desparation, but hes not going anywhere and in comes Steven to finish the match!
FLIP!
Woodpecker sails over the rails and lands in a crumpled heap!
THE LAST ELIMINATOR IS OVER!
Wedge Devolution goes through!
Heat H Semi-final line-ups:
Ming Die-Nasty v Razer
Wedginator 6.0 v Wedge Devolution
Coming Next: The Featherweight Final!
Skink v T.R.E.D.T.H.A.L
Hooray!
TREDTHALs tactics are back in the April 24th archive page.
As for Wedge Devos next fight, thisll be a tricky one. Wedginators 24mph top speed should mean I have the superior control. Get to the sides, flip it over, get under the back end and push it to the walls for an OOTA ASAP.
